Lip Liners -Cargo - Reverse Lipliner
rated 4 of 5

first of all this lipliner baffled me. i honestly didn't understand the concept of a reverse lipliner. at first i thought it was a lip neutralizer (kind of like mac's lip erase). then i thought it was used to fix your lipstick mistakes (like if you go over your lip line, you can use this to erase that, which by the way, kind of works). then when i used it as its intended purpose, which is to line just above my lips line and blend down, it ended up pleasantly surprising me. i like how it makes my lips' line look seamlessly less harsh while at the same time subtlely highlighting it. very cool, and i have a mua reviewer to thank for enlightening me. lol.

Mascara -Prestige - Lash Matrix in Black
rated 2 of 5

if you want a dupe of kiss me mascara, this is not it! i'm really cheap so i always try to find dupes of namebrand products that impress me. i found out this had the same concept as the kiss me mascara because it supposedly tubes your lashes. unfortunately for me, this product didn't tube at all. it acted just like other traditional mascaras, except this tended to be way more smudgey. the only thing that this does is give you natural-looking lashes that's a little glossier than usual, except you'd have to clean off your undereye every 30 minutes (seriously it was that bad for me). i got this on sale for 3.80US, but i guess i'll just return it and try to get another drugstore mascara. maybe i'll suck it up and pay over 20 dollars for the kiss me mascara cause it's so awesome.

Makeup Brushes -Revlon - Beauty Shapers Mini Essentials
rated 4 of 5

i think this set is great. first of all, i got it from Big Lots for $3US. i really think that they are worth it. it's small enough to be carried in my purse for retouching. i have some pricier brushes and i'd rather keep those at home (i lose everything) and these are the more convenient alternative. you get a blush/powder mini brush, a lip brush, a slightly slanted eyeshadow brush, a plastic eye curler, and a tweezer in a black case. they're not top of the line, but they're definitely useful and convenient. i think it's worth it.

i absolutely love this lipstick. i'm not much of a lipstick person, but i love this product so much! i'm nc 30, golden medium for EDM, and this gives me a nice, almost matte pink lips (it has a little sheen to be considered completely matte)... almost nude. it's $2 so it's defintely worth it to just give it a try. it lasts for a good period of time and it doesnt dry out my lips. go get it now, you'll love it!

Masks -Queen Helene - Mint Julep Masque
rated 5 of 5
eyre23 4/3/2008 9:56:00 PM

this is one of my most favorite facial products out there. queen helene is a great brand for cheap! when i first tried it, the cooling sensation really felt a little like a burning one... after a couple uses it just feels normal. this is no miracle product, but i do love it anyway. i think it does aid in pimple zapping, but what i love most is how it makes my skin feel after every use. i love it. if you have an ulta nearby, check 'em out right now because queen helene facial products are buy one get one free! (i would suggest the oat and honey scrub.... i love that one just as much)

Cleansers -Bliss Labs - Fabulous Foaming Face Wash

this cleanser dried up my face up the wazoo. it gave my skin a burning sensation and i don't consider my skin to be sensitive. it smells great, but this thing stung my eyes so badly. it cleans pretty well, but not worth it enough to suffer the other consequences.

Blush -Everyday Minerals - Daydream
rated 5 of 5
eyre23 2/29/2008 10:13:00 PM

i am nc30 light-medium olive for edm. i think that this blush is so perfect for contouring. it's just so subtle for the job that it doesn't look obvious that i made my face look like i lost some weight and has better structure (ahh, the magic of makeup). anyway, this shade is hands down my favorite edm blush. it's just so nice.

Blush -Everyday Minerals - B and B
rated 2 of 5

for me this is like a cracked out blush. i put it on and bam! it's scary! i feel kind of bad cause i got a full sized version. i always try to be careful (light-handed) when i wear this but it's just highly pigmented... period! i just can't make it work. i guess i'm going to buy a super light-colored blush to tone this down with. for reference, i am a mac nc30 and a light olive to medium olive for edm foundations. just wasn't for me, unfortunately.

Cleansers -LUSH - coal face soap
rated 2 of 5

i tried to love this product since i bought it for 10 USD (i'm cheap, ok? lol). however, it didn't do anything for my skin except strip it dry. i didn't really feel like it cleaned my face that well either. when i wear eye makeup and use eye makeup remover i still always get a bit of leftover under my eyes and normal cleansers usually finished the job, but not this. however, i did give this to my bf who has a very low maintenance face and it's working well for him (and "well" meaning that it's as good as any bar of body soap).

Blush -Cargo - BeachBlush - Coral Beach
rated 4 of 5
eyre23 1/30/2008 6:05:00 PM

i really like this blush. if i swirl my brush on this in a circular motion, i feel that it gives it a more matte-y finish instead of that bronzey look. i love that depending on how you position your brush you can get different color effects so i feel like it's 3 blushes in one. i love that it has that really light shimmery color on there because i like to use that seprately as a highlighter. i'll definitely try to use this as e/s palette one day (just got the idea from reading the other reviews).

Blush -MAC - Prism

this is my "i want to look natural" blush. i have warm undertones and i think it compliments me very well. it doesn't stand out too much and i love that it contours my very rounded face. =)

Makeup Brushes -Essence of Beauty - Control Powder Brush
rated 4 of 5
eyre23 1/30/2008 5:50:00 PM

i liked this brush. i love to use it as a contour brush because it's angled, i think it's perfect for that purpose. also, as another reviewer has pointed out, it's great as a blush brush. it's great for those days when you want to have a more concentrated blush effect, then you can use the buffer brush it comes with to blend. it's about 8 USD, but i've seen essence of beauty brushes with fantastic buy one get one half off offers (i would also suggest their powder brush with the chubby black handle that can stand on its own, sooooooo soft).

Treatments -New York Color - Anti-Shine Stick
rated 5 of 5
eyre23 1/30/2008 5:40:00 PM

i have a habit of buying products before even reading the helpful reviews here on MUA. i always end up getting buyer's remorse when i end up reading bad reviews on some of the products i've bought. fortunately for me, this product turned out pretty well. i don't use this for its intended purpose, i bought this specifically as an eyeshadow primer. and let me tell you, for less than 2 USD (and with a BOGO offer at Ulta) it's pretty freaking amazing! i actually LOL-ed when i read the last reviewer's comment about not even bothering to use this an eyeshadow primer cause i thought i was f-ed, lol. but i've been using this for 4 days straight and i think that it's well worth the try. i guess the trick to this is not to put on so much (that way it won't be greasy and cause your e/s to crease). i just line my eyelids very lightly with this stick and gently dab that all over with my finger. then i go ahead with the e/s. very awesome! i've used the clinique eye primer before but i'd say that this works just as well. higly recommended product for sure!

Treatments -Elizabeth Arden - Good Morning Face Serum
rated 4 of 5
eyre23 12/28/2007 1:18:00 AM

i like this because of the smoothing effect it gives my skin. i don't apply foundations quite like a pro as of yet and this product really helps in getting me close. it definitely helps in keeping my makeup looking better and even. like some of the other reviewers, i agree that it doesn't really change your skin condition overall, i have used this product for a couple of months and it still looks the same. but as a primer, i like it. but it's so expensive!

Eyes -NYX - jumbo eye shadow pencil-black bean
rated 2 of 5
eyre23 12/28/2007 1:08:00 AM

i agree that this e/s pencil is very messy. my goodness, it's so hard to use as a liner so instead i use it with an eyeshadow applicator (yet it still ends up everywhere!). even when i use an eyeshadow primer that keeps other eyeshadows matte, this product still ended up creasing. then after only about an hour it ended up fading. i was truly surprised because it came on so strong and faded just as quickly. i've used other NYX products (blushes and regular eyeshadows) and i really like them a lot, just not this one, unfortunately.
