Moisturizers -St. Ives - St. Ives Timeless Skin Collagen Elastin Facial Moisturizer

This is one of those products that reminds me just how awesome MUA is. I'd never heard of it and I thought I'd tried every drugstore moisturizer I could find at my local walmart. I went to MUA Top Picks because I'd given up the drugstore search and surrendered to the idea that I'd have to find some high end product or another. However, I saw this product on the list and at $5 for 10 oz I didn't have much to lose (come on guys! 50 CENTS an ounce versus the typical 30-40+ DOLLARS). Oh, My. Goodness. This stuff surpassed all of my expectations. It's super moisturizing which the drier parts of my face needs and even the oilier parts (those with oily skin know what I'm talking about when I say that their always seems to be dry skin under the oil--the oil just sits on top not necessarily moisturizing anything and it's dry beneath). AND (this is where most moisturizers are a let down) IT DOESN'T MAKE ME GREASY! It actually makes my makeup look better, not worse, throughout the day. It creates this kind of natural glow but stays pretty matte at the same time. The one let down is the fragrance. Not that it smells bad, I just really do not like fragrances in my skin care whatsoever. That being said, however, I haven't noticed any irritation from it nor acne and I have very sensitive skin. If you were looking for a good oily skin moisturizer but mattifying lotions are a bit too dry, then try this. (I actually mix my Murad with this but even used alone this moisturizer works on me). Or if you have dry skin I'm sure it'll still look and feel like a dream. Again, thank you MUA product reviews for bringing this into my life <3

Concealers -Christian Dior - Diorskin Nude Skin Perfecting Hydrating Concealer
rated 5 of 5

I don't have too much experience with under-eye concealers but I can say this one does everything I would want it to. I bought it in shade 001 and my actual skin tone is probably closer to that of 002 but I wanted it to be a bit lighter to give a "highlighting" look. This concealer does that while covering up dark circles and it doesn't crack throughout the day or completely fade away either. It's expensive but I believe in getting what I pay for and this product is just that. P.S. I probably wouldn't suggest this to be used to cover scars or acne as it has a kind of dewy look and would only draw attention to those imperfections.

I too am surprised by the lack of reviews. This mascara is awesome! It makes my lashes super long and gives them a little curl as well

Liquid -Kat Von D - Lock-It

This product isn't bad... it's just not for me. The coverage surpasses any other liquid I've ever used but this is both good and bad. If it's not EXACTLY your skin tone or if it oxidizes even the tiniest bit throughout the day, then it's completely obvious. Also, on me at least, it wouldn't keep matte even with the use of a mattifier, primer, and setting powder. The initial finish is beautiful (p.s. make sure to add some color back to your face with blush or highlighter/bronzer because otherwise it's so full coverage you'll look very dull and unnaturally one-toned) I just couldn't get it to hold up. I would suggest this product for people with more normal than oily skin for the reasons I mentioned above (oxidation and melting off). I wish I could make this work but I tried and tried and just couldn't. My last bit of advice is less is more. It's so thick and full that you should start with about half of what you normally use in liquid foundation. Good luck to everyone else!

BB Cream -Boots - No 7 Instant Radiance Beauty Balm
rated 4 of 5

PROS: Makes foundation look AWESOME. It gives your skin a soft "glow from within look." Because I have skin on the oilier side, I set with a finishing powder and the combination of this and the powder are perfect. The powder stops it from looking too glowy (aka oily) and this stops the powder from making my skin look tired and dried out. CONS: I hate the fragrance. It's a little too strong for me and I really just prefer products that don't have any kind of lingering smell to them. Also, this contains alcohol which is a known skin irritant and can dry the skin out. Overall, I still choose to use this product but a fragrance free, alcohol free version would be ideal.

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast Clump Crusher mascara

Best drugstore mascara I've ever used. Lengthens without getting clumpy, doesn't flake, doesn't smudge. I use this for my mascara almost everyday and I'm happy with it.

Crème -Revlon - ColorStay Whipped Creme Makeup
rated 3 of 5

I would start this product out with a rating of 5 stars upon first application, however, as it wears on there are two issues I have found to arise: 1) It leaves a slightly greyish cast to my face. Nothing horrible but enough to cause me to find a different foundation. I saw the grey cast with both warm and cool shades also so it wasn't simply me using the wrong tone and washing myself out. 2) With continued use, it really dries the skin out. As someone with combination skin, I really loved the oil control at first but after a week of constant wear it makes my skin so dry that it's uncomfortable and you can see the makeup caking despite tons of moisturizer. All in all, I'll keep this around as a cheap alternative to my higher end makeup but it's definitely not something I will go back to using daily.

Powder -Tarte - Smooth Operator Micronized Clay Finishing Powder

This finishing powder makes my foundation look awesome! I don't know how it works--I just know that it does! It gives this smooth appearance and prevents my makeup from sliding and separating when the oil starts to come through. It's a great final touch and helps me look totally flawless!

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Naked 2 Palette
rated 5 of 5

I just bought this last night but I am smitten <3 I tried multiple eyeshadow combinations using this palette and am happy to find that these colors all go great with one another. It's definitely worth the hefty price tag--which isn't so hefty when you consider how many colors you're getting and they're all wearable (unlike other palettes where you end up ignoring a few colors)

Eyeliner -LORAC - 3-in-1 Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil
rated 4 of 5
evesinkiewicz 8/11/2012 9:37:00 PM

Bought this in chocolate last night and when I applied this morning I was amazed. I had been using DS liner thinking that there was no difference between that and high end. I was definitely wrong. This stays in place and doesn't get all smudgy under my eyes. It is a little hard to apply though. Maybe if I use a lighter to soften it first it will apply with less pressure? Even if not, I still liked it enough to go buy the black one today.

Lip Gloss -Urban Decay - Lip Junkie
rated 5 of 5
evesinkiewicz 8/11/2012 9:31:00 PM

Bought this last night in Naked. This color is just amazing with my skin tone. I haven't found anything else that looks anywhere near this good on me. Also, great texture. I hate sticky and this lives up to my anti-sticky standards. Will most certainly repurchase once I run out. I think I dare say this is even my HG gloss!

Foundations -Hourglass - Immaculate Liquid Powder Foundation
rated 2 of 5
evesinkiewicz 8/11/2012 9:25:00 PM

The color selection is extremely limited. Only 8 shades. The coverage was no more than a tinted moisturizer and I found that when it dried it left my skin looking dull and cakey. I only wore it one day so I'm not sure about breakouts or whether it dries the skin out with continued use. I wish this worked for me because it's supposed to have great long term effects on your skin ): Oh well, on to the next!

Liquid -Cover Girl - Clean Makeup, Sensitive Skin

Great shade selection--especially for a DS product. It gives an okay finish but has absolutely no lasting power and turned about 3 shades darker after 5 hours or so. Also, I got 3 cystic acne I got on my chin from one day of wear. Did I mention the packaging is absolutely horrible? Just not for me I guess.

Liquid -Urban Decay - Naked Skin
rated 3 of 5

Okay, this stuff is awesome. I've tried just about everything over the past few years and this is just about my favorite foundation of all time. It actually looks almost identical to the LORAC natural performance--which I love but broke me out. This I haven't had any problems with and seems to be just perfect in every way. It looks flawless on and doesn't turn into a mess when some oil from my combination skin comes through. I also love that it doesn't have SPF because my skin absolutely detests sunscreen and I don't have to be afraid of that terrible white flash if someone wants to take a picture. And as long as there's no breakouts, this will most certainly be my HG foundation. Bottom line: You NEED to try this foundation. Best stuff ever. EDIT: As I seem to always do, I reviewed this before it was "review ready." Took a few more days for me to notice the clogging of my pores. Also, doesn't hold up well on my oily skin. I still think it looks awesome when first applied but I can't justify keeping a foundation that doesn't even look decent by my lunch break while simultaneously blocking up my pores. I still recommend for dry to normal skin though.

Foundations -Smashbox - High Definition Healthy FX Foundation
rated 1 of 5
evesinkiewicz 7/26/2012 3:30:00 PM

This foundation is disgusting. It applies okay on normal to dry skin and so even though it didn't work for my more combination skin I figured that I could keep it and use it on other people. Well, about 6 weeks after I bought it I went to get it out of my case to put on my mom for a wedding and it had completely separated. It had separated beyond anything a quick shake could fix and when I pumped it out all I got was oil and little balled up globs of foundation. I've never even had drugstore foundation fall apart so quickly.
