Treatments -Christian Dior - Capture Totale One Essential Skin Boosting Super Serum

bought this product with a couple of vouchers (£75 - ouch) as I had tried a sample and thought it made my skin look smoother, clearer and brighter. But, really, to be totally honest I can't say I notice any difference if I don't use it. It says on the box that it eliminates all the billions of toxins which accumulate on the surface on the skin and i'm sure it does but for me, I just don't think it's worth the astronomical price. Maybe I was having a good skin day when I tried the sample, hard to be sure, and I will definitely use this up but definitely worth be repurchasing it.

Highlighters -Yves Saint Laurent - Y-Mail Complexion Palette- #2 BLUSH HIGHLIGHTER
rated 5 of 5

this is a great product. Bought this #1 and consists of three colours to be used separately or blended together - a pale pink with lots of sparkes, a medium pink and a bronzy pink. I use them together and sweep over the top of my cheekbones. The colour comes out more shimmery than sparkles and gives a really fresh sheer look. The packaging is amazing. It is a little gold square inscribed like a letter with a post mark on the front and comes in a black satin miniature handbag. Ok, so thisshould not sway me but it is sooo gorgeous to look and very unusual. Will last ages of course.

Concealers -Bobbi Brown - Tinted Eye Brightener 2012 Reformulation
rated 3 of 5
etmg 2/25/2010 11:57:00 AM

disappointed in this reformulated product. Loved the old product (if not the packaging) and was pleased to see it was in a pen this time. But the pen is absolutely tiny!! It is so small, I actually thought she was giving me a sample - it is that small, honestly and so works out very expensive. Bought it anyway because I really like this product but i really think they have changed the formula. I remember with the old product, as long as you have put on a good eye cream you could really build the concealer up in thin layers and it still would not look too thick but for me, this one feels dryer and I think if I put on more than one layer, it would look terrible and settle into fine lines. The colour shades are good and so would probably be fine for a day when my circles weren't noticeable but otherwise, no it would look too much on me. Really can't understand why they are selling so little product for so much money. Have switched to the Clarins underye concealer (Instant radiant touch) or something which I think is better.

Lipstick -Chanel - Aqualumiere Sheer Colour Lipshine in Samoa #75
rated 5 of 5

love this lipstick. It is rose shot through with copper. It is the type of colour that if you have no other make up on will lift your whole face without being "in your face" if you follow me. Lovely

Blush -Laura Mercier - Second Skin, Barely Pink
rated 5 of 5
etmg 2/25/2010 11:43:00 AM

can't believe how much I love this product - when I apply this with the MAC stippling blusher brush it looks so natural on the skin, it really does like the colour is coming from inside the skin - totally natural and imperceptible on me. Have always veered towards NARS blushers but this my new favourite.

love this product, You only need a tiny pump and spread it quickly all over the face. I use at night and it makes my skin so smooth and the pores almost invisible. have only been using about two weeks so will update but so far, very impressed

Concealers -Christian Dior - Diorskin Nude Skin Perfecting Hydrating Concealer
rated 5 of 5
etmg 2/9/2010 10:42:00 AM

bought this in ivory as I was actually going to buy a blusher and he used this on my undereye circles. It's really good, the colour is perfect, sinks into the skin but still manages to lift the whole underye area. Might have found the HG concealer for dark circles.

Mascara -Givenchy - Phenomen'Eyes Effet Extension
rated 5 of 5
etmg 2/9/2010 10:38:00 AM

I think this is now my favourite ever mascara and I have tried loads as each time I replace a tube I tend to try another brand. The false lash effect from YSL is good, as is Dior Iconic and Diorshow Blackout for the effect of really sooty lashes but there is something about this one that gives really superlong, super glossy separated lashes that still manages to look (fairly) natural. I quite like applying it though it takes a bit more time and you need to work your way along the lashes but I think the finished effect is reallly worth it and it is great for my curly lashes in the corner. I really like the compact size as well.

Treatments (Eye) -Bobbi Brown - EXTRA Eye Repair Cream
rated 5 of 5
etmg 1/28/2010 7:33:00 AM

really love this product. Much thicker than the BB hydrating eye cream. My main eye problem is occasional puffiness under one eye and this is really helpping with that. I apply it very sparingly alolng the orbital bone (don't go any higher than this) and within a couple of hours this really takes down the puffiness. Can't really put this down to any other products I have been using. I don't have many lines around my eyes but the ones I do have seem much fainter since using this cream. Keeps the whole area hydrated for ages. I apply this around 730 am and still looks good around 7.00 pm when I get in from work. Will definitely re-purchase this

Eye Shadow -Chanel - Les 4 Ombres Quad Murano
rated 5 of 5
etmg 1/12/2010 10:11:00 AM

having quite dark blue eyes, I have never thought of wearing greens but the SA tried this on me when I bought the blusher from the same collection - Fresque - a few weeks ago. I really liked these colours though, the pinky peach/teal combination is really pretty but very subtle. I never would have considered wearing eyeshadow to work, especially with sparkles but this looks really sophisticated. Love the really dark green for lining eyes and love the texture - very soft and blendable. Again, the only thing is the annoying stubby applicators but the SA gave me a free long handled blending blush in a plastic wrapper - obviously not a proper Chanel one but still, better than those spongy applicators which take up far too much product and make the colour too intense for me.

Pressed Powders -Chanel - Poudre Douce 20 Peche Tendre
rated 5 of 5
etmg 11/19/2009 10:34:00 AM

Wow, I love this powder. I was looking for a similar colour to my Chanel Coromandel powder which was running low but they no longer had any in stock and the SA recommended this which is the permanent line of pressed powders, each designed to correct the skin tone. It reallly brightens up the skin and is fine enough to use under my eyes where it really makes a difference to the dark shadows. In fact, I have used this instead of foundation just over moisturiser and it gives a really bright, healthy finish whilst not looking like a bronzer - it is almost like a winter bronzer really as its very subtle.

Lotions/ Creams -Soap and Glory - The Righteous Butter
rated 5 of 5
etmg 11/19/2009 10:29:00 AM

i got a smaller size of this in Christmas Secret Santa last year and didn't use it for months thinking it would smell like one of those cheap sets you get from the chemists but I tried it and loved it. I am absolutely addicted to the smell and find that it really lasts, like a much more expensive body lotion. In fact I have re-purchased the much larger tub and get through loads of the stuff. I noticed now they have bought out a Soap and Glory perfume, whichI haven't tried but am hoping is the same scent. I see a lot of reviewers have compared the smell to Dior Miss Cherie which I haven't tried but it certainly does smell like a high end product. I love this line of products and have tried the Clean on Me body wash and also Clean of England too which are enormous sized and I think around a fiver. Highly recommended.

Moisturizers -La Mer - Creme de la mer moisturizer
rated 5 of 5
etmg 11/10/2009 5:47:00 AM

i agree with other users who say that although this cream is extortionately expensive, I come back to it time and again, If your skin is reactive it really gets it to behave again and I think it is really good for fine lines and improves the texture of the skin. Maybe there are other creams that do the same thing but this never breaks me out or gives me milia and a jar does last me a long time. It really is better if you take the time to rub it between your fingers before pressing it into the skin. It is kind of a must have for me now

Highlighters -Becca - Pearl Shimmering Skin Perfector
rated 3 of 5
etmg 9/23/2009 10:18:00 AM

this product is okay. I must admit I did find it a bit too shimmery for my liking, even though I used a pea sized amount for my whole face, it made my forehead look too shiny. Some sheer foundation will tone it down but overall I felt that £32 was a lot to pay for this product. I like the idea that it is moisturiser too, maybe that's why the higher price.

Lip Liners -Guerlain - Lip Liner #00 - Cupidon
rated 4 of 5
etmg 9/23/2009 9:50:00 AM

I agree with another reviewer that this is a product you don't really need but it is nice to have. It is basically a highlighter for the cupids bow. When I remember to apply it (not very often) it does make the upper lip look nice and full but, as I said, it is one of those products that you have for months but only remember to use it every so often.
