I wore this about 10 years ago and liked this, and purchased it again last year and I don't know what happened, but all I can say, is instant headache!!! Not a terrible smelling perfume, just not for me anymore!

Liquid -Maybelline - Instant Age Rewind foundation
rated 5 of 5
essence293 3/23/2005 10:08:00 AM

I have tried both this product and the Smooth Results which I believe this replaced. I like this one much better, it provides good coverage and it has good staying power. I apply this with a sponge, then follow up with a translucent powder. Maybe it's just me, but I purchased this in the same color (caramel) as I did the SR, but this one seems to be a tad bit lighter and matches my skin tone perfectly (I'm a CCC). This is definitely worth trying.

I must admit that I had my doubts, but this product works. Whenever I have a stubborn blemish that won't go away, I apply this as an overnight treatment and when I wake up, it's either gone or a lot less noticeable. I will definitely repurchase this product.

Blush -Fashion Fair - Fashion Fair
rated 5 of 5
essence293 3/21/2005 11:50:00 AM

This is a review for the line Fashion Fair's. I'm surprised to see this brand not listed. This is an excellent line!!! I absolutely love the foundation (I use the souffle')...it gives excellent coverage all the while looking natural. The pressed and loose powder both have great staying power and seem to prevent shine. They are oil free as well, which is a definite plus. You can reapply the powder as often as you like without getting that cakey look...it will not change colors!!! They have a good color selection on their blush and eyeshadows and lipsticks...very complimentary for any skin tone. They have a fragrance and skincare line as well. I have been using Fashion Fair since I was a teen (yes, I saved my allowance money to buy this:) and I've experimented with other brands lately, but this is definitely my hg. I will always repurchase Fashion Fair.

Cleansers -Olay - Age Defying Daily Renewal Cleanser
rated 4 of 5
essence293 3/7/2005 1:42:00 PM

This is an overall good product. I have sensitive combo skin and Olay daily renewal doesn't break me out nor does it dry out my skin. The microbeads are extremely gentle yet seemingly effective. I have been using this for the past couple of weeks and my skin does look refreshed with a glow to it. I normally use the Walmart Equate brand, but unfortunately the store I went to was out of it! I took one lippie away from Olay because it does have a strong smell to it whereas the Equate does not (I give Equate five lippies). IMO, they work equally and the only difference is the smell and the price.

Fragrances -Bath and Body Works - Tutti Dolci Chocolate Fondue edt
rated 2 of 5
essence293 2/27/2005 1:19:00 AM

After reading the reviews, I really wanted to like this. I love foody scents. I smelled chocolate for a few minutes, then poof, it was gone!!! How disappointing!!! It then began to smell a little floral like someone else mentioned....hmmm, anyway, sorry but this is not my cup of tea. I prefer Dessert Beauty to this and I'm surprised there aren't more people who like that opposed to this...to each his or her own.

Fragrances -Gucci - Gucci No. 3
rated 5 of 5
essence293 2/26/2005 2:12:00 AM

This is my absolute favorite scent - EVER - hands down. I started wearing Gucci No. 3 when I was around 19 and I am now 32 and I have found nothing that surpasses it. I began wearing other fragrances when Gucci started becoming harder and harder to find and I heard it was discontinued or at least I couldn't find any stores that carried it in my area. Well, for Valentine's Day, my mom purchased some for me because I saw a big bottle of it on Ebay and dropped her a hint not knowing that she was really going to get it for me....I was completely overwhelmed! (I'm smelling my wrist right now!) I have wanted this lovely fragrance for a very long time now....it brings back so many good memories for me and it just smells so good; the scent last and lingers but it isn't too strong or light....it's the perfect scent. This is definitely my HG and as long as I can find it, I will always repurchase it.

Skincare - Body -Dove - Anti-Perspirant
rated 4 of 5
essence293 2/26/2005 2:03:00 AM

I have tried two versions of the Dove anti-perspirant. The first one I tried was the invisible solid in the fresh scent. This held up to being invisible and I loved the scent. Now, the solid in powder, I love!!! The only reason I took one lippie off is because it is easy to apply too much and it is a mess when you put it on but somehow it dries down, doesn't stain and the holding power is a lot better imo in comparison to the invisible. Like many of you, I have been searching for a good anti-perspirant that I can stick with, that will control perspiration as well as odor, come on we're females, we're supposed to look and smell the part :-) I think I will be sticking with the Solid in the Powder scent because it really seems to work for me but I guess I need to control how much I'm "clicking" when I apply it. Anyway, good product and I will definitely repurchase.

Treatments -Black Opal - essential fade complex
rated 5 of 5
essence293 2/25/2005 9:42:00 PM

I began using this product one month ago and at first I saw a little fading, just slowly. Then I stopped using my daily facewash which consisted of Dove Sensitive skin beauty bar and began using Black Opal daily fade cleanser. I noticed remarkable results within one week! I now wish that I would have taken before and after pictures!! I no longer have to use concealer which is wonderful because I would rather eliminate the problem instead of covering it up. I am going to begin using the fade complex on my legs as well to see what type of results I'll achieve. I will definitely repurchase this product. Some have said the price is a little much for such a small amount, but imo, the results make up for the price. Definitely worthy of 5+ lippies.

Skincare - Face -Black Opal - Advanced Dual Phase Fade Creme
rated 5 of 5
essence293 2/25/2005 9:36:00 PM

Ok, I have been at my wits end trying to find a product that won't irritate my sensitive combination skin. I have a few dark spots and have been trying to find a cleanser/cream combo that would help me without having adverse affects. This review is actually about the Black Opal Daily Fade Cleanser which is now my absolute HG!!! The formulation is simply fabulous. It is half cream and the other half is microbeads which cleanses as well as exfoliates and you can actually see how this combines through the non-messy tube that it is packaged in. When used as directed (or as you see fit) you will achieve excellent results and your skin feels fresh and clean after washing with this without feeling tight. It contains the citrus lightening complex which helps the other fade products work better (I use this along with the essential fade complex). I love the scent of this product as well it's not overwhelming and it's pleasant but most of all, this product really works. If you have sensitive skin, using this twice a day might be a bit much. First starting out, I would recommend using this only at night and following up with the essential fade complex. I will definitely repurchase this product.

Moisturizers -Black Opal - Black Opal oil free moisturizer
rated 3 of 5
essence293 2/25/2005 9:28:00 PM

Generally, I love Black Opal products and they have done my skin worlds of good, but this one is just ok....it's not a bad moisturizer, but it does tend to be a little drying to my skin.

Pressed Powders -Cover Girl - CG Smoothers Pressed Powder
rated 3 of 5
essence293 2/23/2005 6:29:00 PM

I had to use this product for a week before giving it a review and it's actually working out pretty good for me. Now granted, it's not my HG, but for it does an ok job and helps actually give you a smooth appearance and I notice that I don't have to reapply as much and when I do, it doesn't appear to be caked on. The bottom line is, I don't think I will be repurchasing this (I have purchased twice--once the color was too light and this time just a shade too dark)but it really is an ok product, but I just feel as if there is something else out there better suited for me. ***Update*** I have had to order my higher end powder online and there was a delay in my receiving it, so I had to rely on CG Smoothers and I don't know if it's because I changed foundations, but I'm really starting to like this. It's (or the foundation) is giving me a flawless look and I don't have to reapply by noon. I'm seriously thinking about saving some money and repurchasing this along with Aziza which btw is cheap and I love as well.

Powder -Aziza - Cream to powder foundation
rated 5 of 5
essence293 2/7/2005 4:21:00 PM

What's up with Aziza? I've spent so much money on cosmetics that it's pitiful! If only I had known that you can purchase a good quality product for $1! All the money I could have saved and looked good saving it! :-) I agree with those of you who say to apply it with a brush, that's a must. I still use Maybelline as my foundation and just dust some of the Aziza on to set it and voila! Absolutely beautiful. I'm definitely going to stock up on these as well as the lipgloss, eyeshadow, etc. A staple for me. Oh and another plus...I have sensitive skin, and this does NOT break me out which surprised me because of how cheap it is. Thank God, I have found my HG. Keep it up Aziza...FABULOUS. ***Update*** Still loving this. Nothing I have purchased since measures up to the look that this gives me. I absolutely love it and I'm going to continue purchasing.
