Primer/ Corrector -Smashbox - Anti - Shine (tube)

This is the only product I've tried that actually keeps oil at bay all day. I apply in the morning around 6:30 and my skin doesn't begin to get oily until about 7 pm -- and by that time, I'm usually home, so I don't mind. I first began using it under my foundation like a primer on my t-zone. But I found that it made my foundation look a little strange and gave my skin a white-ish cast. The product is also a little thick, so now I mix in about 2 drops of water to thin it out and make it easier to apply, then use a stippling brush to apply over my makeup. Works like a charm! I will definitely be repurchasing this!

Concealers -Make Up For Ever - Full Cover Concealer

A very good concealer. I use this for my dark circles, and it works fairly well. The texture is creamy, thin, and not oily. It has great staying power, too. It doesn't settle into creases, either.

This has become a staple product in my hair regimen. I have fine hair and I use it once a week. It really strengthens and restores my hair. My curls become bouncy again, too. I always follow this with Joico's Moisture Recovery Balm. A winning combo.

Concealers -Make Up For Ever - 5 Camouflage Cream Palette

I am NC45 and I have this palette in No. 4. When I first bought this, I was very excited because the whole idea behind this palette is great. 5 different shades that you can mix and match to conceal and correct different areas of your face. The orange shade was very good for neutralizing my dark circles. I used it sometimes with no other makeup because it worked well to brighten up my face. I would use the shade in the middle of the palette around/to define my brows and would mix two other shades to conceal dark spots.The texture is very light and easy to apply. It seemed like the perfect all purpose product. But the orange shade is the main reason I bought this palette. Ive since stopped using it around my eyes, though, because I found that after about an hour the orange shade would settle into fine lines under my eyes, which is very noticeable and not so pretty. The texture works well for other parts of my face but not for around the eyes. It seems to contain oil, which explains why it settles into the lines. I wish the texture was different, just for the orange shade. I've since been using MUFE's full coverage concealer or my dark circles, which is the perfect texture for around the eyes and works fairly well. But the orange shade really knocks out the dark circles completely. This is the only product I've found in this orange shade. How disappointing. The oil in this product also caused my waterproof mascara to smudge. Overall, this is a decent product, for those who don't plan to use it under their eyes or or those who don't have fine lines for it to settle in. I won't repurchase again.

Primer/ Corrector -L'Oreal - Studio Secrets Magic Perfecting Base

Though it isn't perfect, this is the best primer I've tried, so I suppose I will continue repurchasing it until I find a better primer to replace it. Pros: - A visible difference in makeup- smoother application and appearance Cons: - Packaging is terrible. I hate having to stick my finger into the jar. Some of it always gets stuck under my nails. Should be in a pump bottle or tube. - A bit too thick I don't notice much of a difference in my makeup's staying power when I use it compared to when I don't. I guess the only reason I really use it is because my makeup applies better with it.

Styling Products -Kinky Curly - Curling Custard

This is a great product. I have fine, 4a hair and this product works very well to take away frizz. It also moisturizes well. I don't apply this product in sections. After applying my leave-in conditioner, I take a small amount -- just enough to coat my hands with a thin film -- and smooth the product over my hair. I do this about 3x. Using it this way, I never get crunchiness or stickiness. I use just enough to get rid of frizz and to help my curls clump a bit more. This product defines my curls and gives it shine. Good stuff!!

Brows -Smashbox - Brow Tech To-Go

This is a good brow filler. I have it in brunette. It lasts all day. One must not be heavy handed and be sure to blend well after applying for a natural look. The gel on the other end is just alright. I prefer to use clear hair gel, which works better for me.

OMG!! Why hadn't I tried this sooner??!! I never knew what a good deep conditioner is supposed to do until I tried this one!! This product does everything for my hair -- moisturizes, smoothes, shines, and makes it silky for days!!! I think this is my new HG!! Bye-bye Redken Real Control Mask!

Styling Products -Redken - Real Control Slim Supreme

This product is pretty nice. I tried it it before blow-drying, and it didn't bring down the volume of my hair or seem to do much. Smooth Down Heat Glide works better for that. But after styling, on my flat-ironed hair, 2 pumps of this product makes my hair sooo soft and silkier than ever before and adds shine, too. It melts into my hair. I like to use it on my ends. It helps with maintaining the smoothness of my hair. This serum is also very light so I don't think anyone should have problems with it weighing their hair down. This is coming from someone with fine hair. The scent is great, too! The only thing I don't like is the shape of the pump, which is kind of rounded on top which makes it difficult to use.

Powder -Lancome - Color Ideal Pressed Powder [DISCONTINUED]

My sister, who is actually lighter than me, bought this for herself then gave it to me since she didn't want to wear powder anymore. i have it in Dark 10 N. I gladly took it, though I wasn't expecting much. I'd never used Lancome products before. To my surprise, this matched my skintone very well. What I like about this powder is that it doesn't look like I've used powder (unlike some other powders make me look). The texture is also very velvety and fine, which I love. I don't use it with the brush it came with. I don't like the brush at all. I will be buying this powder when it runs out. And I'll also check out the rest of Lancome's products, since this one worked so well for me.

This is the only thing I use for my brows now. It lasts all day, looks natural, and I love how thin the pencil is. I can fill in exactly where I want. It's perfect.

Foundations -Revlon - ColorStay Makeup with SoftFlex SPF 6 for Combination/Oily Skin

I've never been able to find the perfect shade of foundation or foundation that looked natural but still with coverage. The closest I got was MAC NC45, but the foundation would turn orangey and greasy as the day went on. I have yellow undertones and many of the foundations I tried would be too cool or ashy. I had given up and decided that I would only use powders since I had an easier time finding powders that matched than foundation. One day I went to a drugstore browsing through makeup - not looking for anything in particular, and certainly not foundation - and saw this Revlon foundation that seemed to match me. I bought it in Caramel immediately, and when I got in the car I tried a bit on my cheek. It matched perfectly! I used it the next day and to my pleasant surprise, this foundation actually lasted ALL DAY!! Whoodathunk?? I also love that my skin doesn't look too matte but not too shiny either- just natural. Perfect coverage, too! So, basically, this is my HG. I have 3 right now because I never want to be without it. And it's only $10! The only thing that bothers me is that this foundation has such staying power that it's difficult to wash off of my brushes. And the fact that it doesn't have a pump. And the scent- I prefer my makeup no be unscented. But I can definitely deal with that!
