Treatments (Eye) -RoC - Retin-Ox CORREXION Intensive Eye Care
erotic_snail 6/14/2011 9:36:00 PM
In an eye cream I look for something that is going to moisturise the under eye area and get rid of fine lines. Puffiness and dark circles aren't something I seek an eye cream to target. Firstly with Retinol, it is important to use sunscreen. I have been using this product for a short time - with immediately noticeable results. Lately my undereye area has been a train wreck! Overworked, dried out winter skin, and a predisposition to using my eyes far too much when I smile have all contributed to this area becoming a problem zone. Immediately prior to using this product I had been regularly using LP and Estee Lauders eye creams to no avail. Other creams I have found effective - but not as effective as this - include Shiseido Benefiance, and Payot Contour Yeux & Levres. Within a much shorter time frame RoC has really zapped away those fine lines. I feel like it has taken a couple of years off within weeks. I use it once daily (in the evening as it doesn't give great hold to my make up). Make sure you moisturise twice daily as an eye cream can't do all the work alone!

Treatments (Eye) -Payot - Contour Yeux & Levres

I've been using this cream for a couple of months, and of the small few I've tried - neostrata, clinique all about eyes, shisheido, and a number of others this is definitely the best so far. I'm 23 but thanks to eyes that go super crinkly with every smile I have a few light lines around my eyes that I'd much rather NOT be there. I found this to have a definite impact in reducing the appearance of lines. But my most glorious raving review for this product comes after approximately 5 hours of solid crying, no sleep and the most disgustingly puffy, dark circled eyes I've ever seen on my own face (which NEVER gets dark circles!), within a very short of time of applying this the puffiness was completely gone, the dark circles reduced significantly. So I would repurchase, and recommend highly.

Conditioner -Redken - Real Control
erotic_snail 11/10/2008 4:50:00 AM
I find this conditioner absolutely disgusting! I am used to having to use conditioner liberally to add moisture to my dry hair, but with this no matter how little I use it turns my hair into an absolute oil slick. I initially bought the shampoo and conditioner but I would NEVER use them together! EVER! The combination of the two together gave me hair that looked like it hadn't been washed for weeks. I rinse my hair of conditioner very thoroughly and honestly never thought I would ever have to worry about having too much oil in my hair, but this shampoo made that possible! I have very long, regularly straightened hair that's occasionally coloured, in pretty good condition considering, but it's definitely dry. Maybe if you have really, REALLY dry hair this will be what you're after, but for moderately dry hair I would avoid this at all costs. I have tried this for about a month, so my dislike for this product is definitely not from lack of trying!

Shampoo -Matrix - Biolage - Hydrating Shampoo
erotic_snail 5/16/2008 12:55:00 AM
I HATED this the first few times I used it, absolutely hated it in a way I'd never hated a shampoo before. I didn't feel it was hydrating, it actually felt more drying than most shampoos I'd used. Fortunately I persevered because I didn't have time to go out and find a replacement. After a number of uses my hair feels much better, it is unbelievably soft, I don't have to wash as frequently as with other shampoos, and as a plus, my hair looks amazing when I straighten it after washing with this! After using heavily hydrating, silicone happy products I am used to a different result from "moisturising" or "hydrating" products. The kind that leave my hair immediately gorgeous, but often end up making it excessively oily sooner than usual. It feels like this is actually doing something to my hair, rather than just coating it temporarily with whatever chemical makes hair feel silky/soft.

Bronzers -Clarins - Bronzing Powder Duo
erotic_snail 4/22/2008 4:25:00 AM
This is one gorgeous bronzer. I bought this to replace NARS - Laguna bronzer (the powder always seemed to crack in the packaging and became a pain to use) and couldn't be happier. Although it looks matte it definitely adds a glow when I apply it. Laguna always seemed to give me a very matte, dull finish despite the shimmery particles it contains. I have it in 10 -Bright Sun, perfect for my light colouring. It is very easy to apply and I never find myself needing to blend as throughly as I did with NARS - Laguna.

Moisturizers -Jurlique - Moisture Replenishing Day Care Cream
erotic_snail 3/26/2008 3:55:00 AM
I got a sample of this the other day and have now fallen in love with it. It is VERY thick and rich, if you have really dry skin then you will be in heaven with this. Mine is normal/dry though it's currently extra dry due to sickness and this has been wonderful. I don't think I could use it in summer but for the cooler months it will be perfect. I love the smell, it's just like Cliniques - Aromatics Elixir.

Scrubs -St. Ives - Apricot Scrub
erotic_snail 3/26/2008 3:20:00 AM
I've tried many different exfoliants over the years and never really found one I've liked enough to think about repurchasing, but I have to say I am loving this one. It's very cheap at $9AUD. My skin type is normal though currently on the sensitive side as I'm unwell, although other posters have said it is harsh I really don't find it to be. I always use a light touch with scrubs so maybe that's the reason. It's very effective and non drying.

Lips -Laura Mercier - Lip Stain in Shy Pink
erotic_snail 2/29/2008 8:58:00 AM
Perhaps this wasn't the best colour to choose when testing out the long wearing ability of LM lip stains. It a subtle pink/brown very close to the colour of my own lips, when first applied I even detect the tiniest shimmer of mauve - this disappears completely when it settles in. Traces of the lip stain are long wearing but it doesn't remain true to colour. I find that after a few hours of wear it is really only an extremely subtle shade that remains - one that hinges more on nude brown than it does on pink. I won't be repurchasing this particular colour again, but I would definitely like to try some of the darker shades in the range to see how they wear.

Polishes -Unlisted Brand - Kit Cosmetics - High Jinx
erotic_snail 2/29/2008 8:50:00 AM
The full title for this polish is 'high jinx - galaxy black with holographic discs' from the kit website. I picked it up on impulse the other day, never having tried any of their other nail polishes, unfortunately I am really disappointed. The colour itself is rich black with small silver flecks, pretty to look at but not so wonderful to apply, OR remove! The texture of the polish is thick and gloopy, it is really difficult to apply evenly. I use a nailpolish remover with acetone (usually takes polish off straight away) and I had to scrub and scrub at it, even then there was still some on there! It's $15.95 or so, for that price I'd rather just buy OPI!

Other -Supersmile - SuperSmile Toothpaste
erotic_snail 1/14/2008 10:15:00 PM
This doesn't work as quickly as other whitening toothpastes I've tried but I've felt others simply coat your teeth temporarily, or are full of harsh chemical that achieve a short term result in the name of long term damage. So this is the whitening toothpaste I feel most comfortable using. It's texture reminds me of oil paint. I don't particularly love the dry brushing process - cannot tell you how many times I've wet the brush out of habit! But it does work, if you're looking for an effortless quick fix, well this might not be as quick as you'd like. You will gradually see your teeth getting whiter and whiter, it's not cheap but it's worth it.

Treatments -Kerastase - Masquintense
erotic_snail 1/14/2008 10:08:00 PM
I've used just about all of the Redken masks and none of them compare to this. For the reviewer that said it only lasted three uses, I have NO idea how! I have long hair, apply it generously and still have plenty left in my tub. It's a nice thin texture - unlike the thick, goopy redken treatments I have been using. It leaves my hair so soft, smooth and never weighed down. I have curly, dry hair that I have been straightening for some time, it's not in terrible condition but it could be better - this makes it gorgeous though.

Fragrances -Salvatore Ferragamo - Incanto Charms
erotic_snail 1/10/2008 12:50:00 AM
Another reviewer said this has a cheap air to it, I agree. To me it smells like cheap air freshener. This is the only perfume I have ever scrubbed off my skin after application. I find it absolutely awful, but that's just my opinion and your own my differ, judging by the ratings I'm in the minority.

Lotions/ Creams -Clarins - Hand and Nail Treatment Cream
erotic_snail 1/7/2008 9:36:00 PM
If you are looking for an intense overnight style hand cream - this probably isn't the one for you. It is very light in texture, but still very soothing and moisturising. I find it perfect for work, absorbs really quickly and makes my hands feel comfortable immediately. I've only been using it for a little while but you wouldn't believe how many compliments I've gotten about the smell! I really like this handcream and will repurchase.

Moisturizers -Neostrata - Ultra-Smoothing Cream (10% Glycolic Acid)
erotic_snail 1/7/2008 11:41:00 AM
This is without a doubt the most amazing moisturiser I have ever used. The texture is quite light, upon first use I didn't think it would be enough for my normal/dry skin - but it is very hydrating without being oily in the slightest. My skin has never felt smoother or looked better. My skin is generally very clear but there's a few areas of congestion under the skin, those tiny annoying pimples that never seem to surface. This has completely gotten rid of all that congestion. It really plumps up my skin. If you feel your skin is looking dull, uneven or congested I cannot recommend this enough! I can't use it when I've got a cold and the skin on my face is tender (especially around the nose) as it is quite irritating under those circumstances, but even after days of not using this my skin has not reverted to its previous appearance!

Eye Makeup Remover -Clarins - Gentle Eye Makeup Remover Lotion
erotic_snail 1/2/2008 2:37:00 AM
I like the non oily feel of this eye make up remover, but other than that there is nothing remarkable about it. My eyes aren't sensitive, so I can't test the gentle claim accurately. It doesn't sting my eyes, but nothing really does. I wear waterproof mascara that it didn't take off. I wouldn't repurchase.
