I believe that I finally found the foundation suitable for my acne prone, oily skin! After reading many reviews and trying out drugstore and department store brands nothing can be compared to this one. It really lives up to its promises of keeping skin matte, staying for literally more than 15 hours onto your skin and covering blemishes. I have been using this one for a week now and I must say that it really works wonders even under the humidity here in our country - Philippines. My morning routine includes washing my face with a soap and applying toner - both recommended by my dermatologist. After which, I put on sunscreen and then this fondi using my clean ring finger. Last portion is setting of Neutrogena Healthy Skin powder using my small kabuki brush. On my way to work Im always exposed to dust, smoke, and humidity. Despite these aggressors, I still get to enjoy radiant and non-oily face. My co-workers even asked me what I'd put on my face. Touch ups for this is minimal my second touch up is at the end of my shift.
Moisturizers -Desert Essence - Jojoba Oil - 100% pure

Been using this every night for about a month now and I say this is the best moisturizer I used. Im suffering from PCOS and I get cystic pimples every now and then. Though Im already taking up supplements to help correct my hormonal imbalance issue, yet pimples show up every now and then. Im still using the products that my dermatologist recommended but I use this in conjunction. The oil mimics the skin's natural moisture so it tends to not to produce too much oil, the result is balanced skin. This also helps de-clog the pores. Im glad that I came across this product and will definitely re-purchase.
After reading the positive raves about this powder, I finally gave it a try. Texture is silky smooth and actually creates an airbrush effect on the skin. Though the coverage is light to medium, it still covers most of the acne marks and the redness of my skin. It is also good in controlling the oiliness. I remember using a blotting paper only during my coffee break in the afternoon. My skin did not negatively react to the powder and still remain pimple-free. Overall, this powder is a cheap alternative to the expensive powders of well known brands and will definitely re-purchase.
Powder -Prestige - MultiFinish Wet Dry Powder Foundation

I accidentally came across this powder when I was at Beauty Bar looking for a face powder. I was trying Youngblood, but when I learned how expensive it was had to look for another that is less expensive but has that nice finish. The sales rep directed me to the Prestige counter. This product easily caught my attention as the packaging is similar to Neutrogena's Healthy Skin Pressed Powder. The first application already blew me away as it has that fine and silky texture, breathable-feeling and medium coverage. I then decided to buy the Natural Beige (im an NC30). UPDATE: I have been using this for a week now, and so far it is still good in controlling the oilies and creating that semi-matte finish. Though, the downside is that I have to re-touch very so often, but I don't mind as Im one of the many makeup junkies who love re-touching every now and then. So far Im truly satisfied and will definitely re-purchase.
BB Cream -MISSHA - M Signature Real Complete B.B. Cream SPF 25 PA++

This is the best BB Creams I've tried so far. I've tried Etude House Shini Star, The Face Shop's Oil Free BB Cream and Neutrogena Fine Fairness BB Cream. The consistency is runny which I think is suitable for oily / acne prone skin like mine. Once applied on the face, the sheer runny cream covers my face's redness and pimple scars. Many people already noticed the improvement on my face and they would asked what product has made the difference.
Moisturizers -Avalon Organics Botanicals - Lavender Renewal Facial Serum

On my regular visit to a Whole Foods store at our locality, I came across to this serum and decided to purchase as I was also looking for a serum, rich in antioxidants yet easy on the budget. The product claimed that it contains Grape Seed polypherols, White Tea and many other essential oils. I love the genius packaging, its easy to use and very hygienic as well. Though you can instantly feel the oil content of this serum, yet my skin instantly absorbs this. After a couple of hours, my skin looks bright but not greasy. I will definitely make an update on my review as it is still early to tell if this is my HG serum. UPDATE: After using for 5 days, im alerted by tiny whiteheads on my forehead. But will still continue using this for 2 more weeks to see if the whiteheads will diminish as my skin is still acclimating with this product...
For months, all I ever did was surfed online and read millions of reviews. Too bad this product is not available in the Philippines so I have to wait for a friend to go to the US to buy this wash. And when I got hold of this wash, I immediately went to the wash room and lather this stuff onto my face. It is so simple and watery yet lathers pretty well. My mascara wnet off and so is my Revlon foundation. This product also did not sting my eyes. As soon as I towel dry my face, no sting nor tightness was felt by my skin! I will definitely replace this over my Cetaphil and Nuskin cleansers.
Pressed Powders -Avon - Ideal Shade Pressed Powder
erinmaui9 3/2/2011 7:55:00 PM
I used to think that cheap powders, including Avon powders, deliver only half of what they promised for. But not with this powder, I can really compare it with MAC Sheer Pressed Powder at a dirt cheap price. Plus, this powder has not caused me breakouts or rashes unlike Clinique's and Revlon's. The texture is fine-milled so that when it applies to my skin, i don't feel any heavy consistency. The real test happened when I went to client factory visit, with dust and smoke all over. Though I sweat a lot during that time, the powder just remained intact and did not look cakey. The packaging is also elegant that I am not ashamed to touch-up in public because its expensive-looking. Though, I touch-up several times in a day. But hey I love flashing it around and re-applying so even a plus for me. Glad I tried this Avon powder. Im addicted already.
Liquid -Revlon - SPA Age Defying Foundation [DISCONTINUED]
erinmaui9 2/4/2011 7:30:00 AM
Second to Revlon Colorstay for Combination / Oily Skin, is this fancy product. For me the built in brush is just brilliant. The coverage, which is light to medium, is pretty much for the the cold or windy days where your skin just becomes a bit flaky.
I bought the Sand Beige shade of this foundation cause of my yellow undertone and been using it for a month now. Im glad I found a drugstore foundation that beats even the most expensive ones. I do have cystic pimples every now and then, but this did not aggravate nor trigger new breakouts. The color, just like its sales pitch, really stayed for hours of sweat under our humid Philippine climate. My pressed powder touch-ups were also lessen (probably by 50%), instead I just blot oil-blotting paper onto my face and voila still matte and relaxed-looking. My acne / pimple marks were also covered by this foundation and my colleagues also noticed that my skin looks better and healthier as compared to my previous foundation, MAC Studio Fix - which according to them looked flaky. So far this is my HG foundation and will continue using it.
This eye make-up remover is fantastic. It's very gentle (no sting nor teary eyes), easy application, effective and economical. I found this at a nearby Etude House store. Originally, I was looking for eye and lips remover but the sales person introduced me to this since I would want my stubborn waterproof mascara off my lashes every night. Just love its consistency and the price is dirt cheap.
Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - Oil Cleansing Method OCM
erinmaui9 1/7/2011 1:20:00 AM
At first, doing OCM made my skin very oily and caused my acne to worsen. Nevertheless, I still decided to continue because I thought that this might be the initial reaction my face. But as months passed by - roughly 2 months - I saw an improvement. The bumps just dried out and though new ones still come out but eventually they dried out fast and left no mark - I also forced myself to not prick or touch any of it. My concoction is composed of 60% castor oil, 30% jojoba oil and 10% tea tree oil.
So I finally decided to purchase this foundation to find out if the raves are true. To my surprised this is the only fondi that did not cause me additional breakouts other than the ones already on my face. I had used MAC, Clinique, Paul & Joe, Maybelline, even Artistry Balancing Foundation and many more, which caused my face to stay matte within an hour but eventually turned into an oil producing machine so that I had to blot with an oil blotting paper and re-touch with my Kanebo Kate pressed powder every now and then. But this kept my face really matte without the cakey dry effect. I just used blotting papers on my T-zone to remove the shiny look and no more re-touchs. I also anticipated my cystic pimples to come out after a week's use - which I experienced after using the the Paul & Joe's and the Clinique - but fortunately they haven't appeared yet. The downside of this fondi, I think, is its packaging but still very manageable. The bottle is a hit or a miss, either you pour too little or too much. So, I just transferred the product into a clean empty lotion bottle pump (with cap) so that every use i just squeeze an ample amount and apply it using my ring finger. I also checked its hazard meter at cosmeticsdatabase.com and i found out that it is only at moderate level no. 4 (out of 10) which is still safe to be used.
In trying and using mascaras I don't normally expect close to impossible results like super curly, lengthy, voluminous and true-to-be-true lashes. I just make sure that the product delivers what it promised for. With this, it said volume and clump-free effects and I can say it really made my not-so-thick lashes look thicker without the clumps. I also received several compliments from my colleagues that my lashes (together with my eyeshadow-free lids) really became noticeably pleasant to look at - well that's already a living proof this product works. Removing this is a bit difficult, i just used my concocted cleansing oil (combination of 70% Castor Oil, 25% Jojoba Oil and 5% Tea Tree Oil) and gently rub it onto my lashes. The price is a big plus. It is dirt cheap as compared to DiorShow and a whole lot of expensive mascaras which boil down to the same effect. I will definitely buy this one again and will recommend it to my girlfriends.
Lipstick -Revlon - Super Lustrous Lipstick Ginger Rose
erinmaui9 12/27/2010 6:56:00 AM
The moment that the cosmetic girl applied this onto my lips, I just got blown away by how it looks pretty on me. The color just suits my olive skin and my lip shape. Im glad I found this.
