I guess I'm one of the odd ones out here but this brush really didn't wow me. It worked just the same as any other brush I've ever used except that it was double the price and didn't have a handle. I used it for two months and still saw the same amount of breakage and hair coming out in the brush. It didn't even get through my tangles any easier than other brushes and I'm sad that I spent so much money on it only to be less than amazed.
Pressed Powders -Rimmel - Stay Matte Pressed Powder (ALL)

I found this powder worked just the same as any other powder I've used that was NOT meant for oil control. I normally don't have oily skin so I don't really need to worry about mattifying powder anyways, but this actually made me super oily :( Pros: Comes with lots of product, it's bigger than any other powder I've used Sets makeup nicely Doesn't look cakey Cons: I found it made me more oily than usual The smell is incredibly strong, like flowery perfume or something The lid falls off sometimes Overall I gave it a 3 because while it doesn't control oil, it is a good regular powder and it's a really good size for your money.
I overall loved this concealer, until it started breaking me out :( It covers amazingly, there is literally nothing this won't cover, and the shade ultra light is the only concealer I've ever found that's actually light enough for my pale skin! However, it ended up being too heavy and oily for my sensitive, acne-prone skin and within a week I had massive breakouts. I'm so sad, this is the best concealer I've ever used. Highly recommended if you don't have acne prone skin!
Eyeliner -Maybelline - Eye Studio Master Precise Ink Pen Liner

I really don't understand all the negative reviews on this, I've just repurchased for the third time. I LOVE this liner. It's incredibly black, creates a thin line, perfect for a winged look, smooth, perfect. For me personally it takes around 3 months of daily use for it to even begin to dry up, and even then it's only the tip that gets dry. The packaging says it's best to store it horizontally so maybe people just aren't taking care of their's properly? My only complaints are that it's not at all waterproof and the price. $10 for eyeliner is absolutely ridiculous to me, but I continue to pay it because of the nice, thin line it creates.

While this did somewhat prevent my nails from cracking, they still did and it was HORRIBLE as a base coat - my nails were a perfectly healthy color before using this because I always used a good base coat, but after I began to use it they turned yellow. Disgusting.
Although this did a good job of removing all my makeup and didn't irritate my skin, I didn't like it. After a few days of using it, my eyes were really sore and it was the only new thing I'd introduced to my routine. It also gave me tiny bumps all over my forehead. Will not repurchase.
Cleansers -Nivea - Refreshing Facial Cleansing Wipes

Walmart didn't have my usual St. Ives wipes (which I've been completely in love with for the past year or so) so I decided to grab these instead because they said "For sensitive, dry skin" which is exactly what I have. Well, they caused a disaster on my face. They made it so oily and greasy that I actually started breaking out just from the oil alone, my face felt disgusting. I normally don't get breakouts, maybe an occasional pimple, but these just killed my mouth/chin area. Not to mention that my face now stings constantly. I'll be returning them and would not repurchase.
I absolutely LOVE these polishes, and after testing them out I immediately had to write a review. I got these about a week ago, the polishes I got were "You Belong to Me," "Nude It!," "Walk of Fame," "Black is Back," and "Luxury Secret." I'm sooo in love. The price is amazing, I got them at Shoppers for $1.49 each. I wish the bottles were bigger but that's alright because I can buy multiples of each and still not spend as much as I would on one full-sized bottle of another brand. The colors are absolutely beautiful! They apply very nicely and are true to bottle color in two coats. The lasting power is the same as any other polish, tip-wear after a few days but no chips for about 5-7 days. I just had to come review these after testing out "You Belong to Me," it's a gorgeous, perfect Tiffany-blue and I can tell I'll be wearing it all the time. ********************************************* I unfortunately had to come back and change my review after owning these for a while. After having them for just one month and using a few times, they're thick, gunky and dried up. I'm incredibly disappointed.
I'm extremely disappointed with this product, especially considering how much other people seem to like it. The color I got was Strawberry Shortcake which just looked like a nice, ordinary pink in the tube, but on my lips it turned out a very cool-toned, frosty pink that was not at all flattering. On top of the unflattering color, it actually made my lips DRY! Extremely dry. It wasn't at a great price either. I'm so upset, and I'll definitely be returning this.
It makes my skin just as dry and tight as any other soap, and when I tried it on my face it gave me deep, painful, red pimples :( Ouch.
Top/Base Coats -Essie - Good to Go! The Fastest Drying Top Coat
erinkaulback 1/31/2012 10:08:00 PM
I love this top coat! Before purchasing this I was using a Revlon top coat and it was absolutely horrible. Check out my review on it. But after using Essie, my nails are beautiful, shiny, and smooth. It's a bit pricey (like most things from Essie) but it's my new favourite. One of my friends even asked me if I had gotten Shellac put on at the salon! So impressed.
As a base coat it made my nail polish go on streaky and uneven, and it made it take much longer to dry. As a top coat it actually reduced the shine of my polish and the brush is WAY too small! It also made my polish tacky and easily dentable. Will not repurchase.
I used this product to take my hair from my natural medium blonde to the #4 dark brown. I bought it before reading all the negative reviews, so I was quite disappointed when I read the reviews and found out I'd probably be returning it. However, I didn't feel like going back to the store so I decided to try it out anyways. Fortunately it turned out great! I'm so happy with it. The colour is exactly what I wanted and it's shiny and soft. I'll admit that the smell was horrible - much worse than any other hair colours I've tried. It was enough to burn my eyes and lungs and it burned my scalp. The odor is quite odd, it smells like old beer. Strange. Every review I read said that the colour turned out much darker than expected, so I left it on for 15 minutes instead of the full 25 and it turned out to be the perfect solution. The foam was not messy, did not get everywhere and did not drip whatsoever. I only did the recommended three shakes to mix it so it still looked like a liquid in the bottle, but came out as a foam. I have long, thick hair that reaches to about the top of my ribcage and I was able to fully colour my hair with just one bottle, which I was quite pleased with because I usually need to use two bottles. I was a little alarmed because my hair did feel pretty straw-like while rinsing, but that was easily solved by using the conditioner included in the box. I do however agree with everyone saying that it stains badly, but I found the stains were easily removed with makeup remover. Overall I'm very happy with the colour, ease of use and price. I would recommend this product to a friend, and probably will use it again in the future :)
