Sunscreen -Shiseido - Ultimate Sun Protection Cream SPF 55 PA+++ [DISCONTINUED]
erika511 8/6/2010 2:49:00 PM
This is such an awesome facial sunscreen!! The only issue, which is not really a big deal, that I have with this is that it does not fully blend into your skin. I find that I always need to wear at least tinted moisturizer over this to cover the white cast and on weekends, it is a bit of a pain. Other than that, it's great! Moisturizing for my normal/dry skin, dries to a matte finish and is VERY waterproof! It seems like I can only get it off really well with my Clarisonic.

Fragrances -Ralph Lauren - Notorious
erika511 5/22/2009 4:53:00 PM
This isn't a bad fragrance, it just seems more mainstream to me. When I first sprayed my sample it remineded me of the new Gucci by Gucci with the floral-ness, but has an edgier and darker note. Musk? I can't put my finger on it, but it is simply ok. I might get another sample because it is rather pleasant, but in my opinion, nothing out of the ordinary.

Lipstick -Estee Lauder - Pure Color Crystal Lipstick in Crystal Coral
erika511 5/22/2009 4:44:00 PM
I got this in a GWP and since I normally wouldn't choose a coral color for myself, was a bit leery about trying it. Surprisingly, it is a very natural sun-kissed color that seems as if it would flatter many different skin tones. I like that it is sheer, since I have been wearing a tinted moisturizer now for summer instead of foundation, it compliments my natural make up.

Lotions/ Creams -The Body Shop - Raspberry Body Butter
erika511 5/15/2009 11:20:00 AM
This has such a wonderful smell, which has to be the most natural raspberry scent without being a sugary sweet candied raspberry. This body butter is one of the creamy ones, not solid like the shea, which makes it ideal for moisturizing during warm weather months. This is labelled for normal skin, so people with chronic dryness or other skin issues probably won't find this very beneficial.

Lip Gloss -Lancome - Juicy Tubes Maharani Jewels - Ginger Palace
erika511 4/16/2009 2:53:00 PM
Ginger Palace is a great YLBB color and I love the smaller travel size from the holiday set...but what keeps me from buying the large size or even just reaching for this more often is that rancid ginger smell. It literally makes me gag and is the only thing preventing it from being a staple in my makeup bag. If you enjoy the smell of ginger, you should love it, but if not, you might want to try before you buy.

Lip Gloss -Chanel - Imaginaire Glossimer
erika511 12/12/2008 11:11:00 AM
Got this one in the lip gloss and cosmetic bag LE gift set. It is a very nice color in the tube, which turns out to be much darker than it actually is on your lips. The first time I tried this was over Rouge Allure Admirable lipstick and it was great! I only put on a light coat, which gave my lips a subtle light berry tone. The gloss was a bit thick coming out of the tube, but once it sat on my lips for a few minutes it became less thick and sticky and seemed to blend with the lipstick more.

Lipstick -Chanel - Rouge Allure Admirable 42
erika511 12/8/2008 4:49:00 PM
The perfect nude lip color, what more can I say... This is another RA that I had purchased off of the Chanel webpage sight unseen. This is truly a lovely color and matches my lips exactly!! It also has the fab silk feeling that all the RA's do...it seems like you can't go wrong with a Chanel lipstick. All of mine have been purchased off the Chanel site, and even though they might look a little bit different in person, each shade seems like it can work for everyone.

Lipstick -Chanel - Rouge Allure 43 Flash Quartz
erika511 12/2/2008 4:56:00 PM
I purchased this sight unseen off of the Chanel website and I have to admit that I was completely surprised when I opened the tube for the first time. It is really shimmery/frosted looking in the tube, which scared me at first, but decided to give it a try anyway. I was pleasantly surprised, it is a lovely peachy brown color -- more on the peach side with my skin tone and very little of the frostiness. It is a very smooth and creamy consistancy. Very comfortable to wear and seems as though it also moisturizes. My first encounter with Rouge Allure formula was successful.

Fragrances -Chanel - Sycomore
erika511 10/6/2008 10:36:00 AM
This is fabulous! I am a lover of woods, Bois des Iles being my HG, and this is so unique as soon as I finish my sample, I will call Chanel and purchase my own bottle! The opening has a nice smokiness, which doesn't last very long and then the drydown on me is the lovely and expertly blended vetiver and cedar. The cedar is actually a bit more prominent on my skin, but all woods come out very nicely on my skin. My husband even asked what that was and that I should wear it more often! Very nice, another winner for Chanel.

Eye Shadow -Elizabeth Arden - Color Intrigue Eye Shadow Quad
erika511 8/18/2008 12:32:00 PM
I have the sueded browns and it is possibly the best eyeshadow I have ever purchased. The colors are very versatile, I can make them like a wash or load up and make the color saturated. The different hues of color compliment each other perfectly. They are very soft and blendable. I have never had eyeshadow that was this easy to work with! I also have the velvet plumtones and they are fab as well. Highly recommend, A+.

Self Tanners -Estee Lauder - Go Tan Sunless Towelette
erika511 8/18/2008 12:03:00 PM
This is the best sunless tanner I have purchased. I chose the fair/medium since I hadn't ever used these before and next time I will probably get the dark. It didn't go on streaky and was easy to apply. I did my arms and chest myself and had my husband do my back without an issue.

Shampoo -Back to Basics - Bamboo Straightening Shampoo
erika511 8/18/2008 11:50:00 AM
This product is fabulous!! I have extremely naturally curly and dry hair that is also very thick. This new Bamboo line really calms my hair down and smooths the hair shaft. I find that it has adequate moisturization, since my hair is very dry and I haven't seen any adverse effects in that regard. I alternate this shampoo/cond. with the Raspberry and Almond line, which is also fabulous. I love this new shampoo and conditioner and it has made my life so much easier!!

Hair -Back to Basics - Raspberry Almond Intensive Shampoo and Conditioner
erika511 8/18/2008 11:45:00 AM
I have naturally curly and very dry hair, which has been unruly and hideous my entire life. The curls are so small they can wrap around a pencil and there is no way I can wear my hair down from the months of April to October - the humidity always wins. With this shampoo and conditioner my hair is actually moisturized more than it has ever been before, and I have tried everything under the sun. I would always have to add several different serums and leave in conditioners after washing just so that I could comb it. With the raspberry and almond shampoo and cond, I no longer need a leave in conditioner, I just towel dry and begin combing. This has saved me so much money in styling products! My hair shaft is also noticeably smoother and less frizzy. This is definately a desert island beauty product for me!! I alternate using raspberry almond with Back to Basics Bamboo line for straightening and also get great results with that one.

Fragrances -Guerlain - Vetiver Pour Elle

This is great!! The tried and true Vetiver by Guerlain, but with a bit of sweetness to make it 'pour elle'. I expect nothing less from Guerlain.

Fragrances -Gucci - Gucci by Gucci (new release 2008)
erika511 8/13/2008 11:10:00 AM
This is a nice enough fragrance, I just can't get excited about it though. It seems as though Gucci was playing it safe and made it an unoffensive universally appealing fragrance, which was disappointing to me. I find it to be similar to Chanel 31 Rue Cambon, in being that it is a mildly sweet chypre without oakmoss, but it isn't nearly as unique and gorgeous. Fruity opening that blends into the basenotes upon drydown, very ladylike and proper. I spilled half of my 1 mL sample all over me and it still soft and unoffensive, but that could just be my chemistry. I had high hopes, and it IS nice, but it's not jumping up and down screaming "Buy Me!!!"
