Tools -Sally Hansen - Strengthening polish remover
epaton 5/30/2011 1:18:00 AM
I've tried a few Cutex, Manicare and Priceline polish removers but this one is the best of the lot. I have a bit of a problem with dry cuticles and peeling, flaking nails but this seems to be gentler than other removers I've tried, while still doing a decent job of removing polish. Will continue to purchase (even though it's about $5.50 for 150ml AU).

Polishes -Butter London - All Hail the Queen
epaton 5/29/2011 2:24:00 AM
I have to agree with the other reviewer that this doesn't look great on people with yellow undertones. I was really disappointed for the price I paid. It just looked a lot more taupey and muddy than I was expecting from swatches and pics. Hardly any holo goodness either. Color Club "Love em/ Leave em" is much prettier on me, WAY cheaper and has more holo.

Lip Gloss -Bare Escentuals - Buxom Lips Lip Gloss - ALL
epaton 4/9/2011 9:39:00 PM
I've never had a lip gloss make such a mess of my lips!! :( Horrible HORRIBLE peeling and I'm not usually sensitive to plumping glosses - The Balm plump ones are some of my favs.

Eye Shadow -NYX - Utopia Gold
epaton 4/9/2011 3:01:00 AM
I took a lippie off only because the shadow isn't packed firmly in the pan and it crumbled in the post. The color is absolutely gorgeous!! Lovely warm golden medium brown that is a great crease color for me. I agree that the color isn't represented very well by the name or internet store swatches. Love this and will continue using my poor broken little shadow until it's all gone!

Lipstick -NYX - Lipstick- #529 Thalia
epaton 3/31/2011 12:35:00 AM
I have such a hard time finding lipsticks that suit me! Thalia is a perfect, slightly lighter than my natural lip color lipstick. Really creamy and flattering. And for the price? AMAZING! :)

Brows -Wet 'n' Wild - Ultimate Brow Kit
epaton 3/31/2011 12:32:00 AM
I bought this in Ash brown. I also have the NYX kit in Ash/Taupe and find the NYX kit is a MUCH better colour for me - less red. I also prefer the little spoolie in the NYX kit to the tweezers in the Wet'N'Wild one. Really easy to dip lightly in the wax and comb through after applying the powder. I have naturally dark brown hair. If you don't want a reddish powder but a true ashy-taupe I definitely recommend the NYX kit.

Moisturizers -Natio - sensitive skin Calming Moisturising Day Cream Gel
epaton 2/22/2011 6:46:00 PM
I really can't find anything that compares to this moisturiser. Yes, it's a plain gel, with no scent and the packaging is boring. BUT - it is very moisturising, calming, sinks in fast and is an amazing base for make up. It is excellent for people with oily skin. This really helps keep my shine at bay for longer than anything else I've used. It also helps with flakyness. I tried the Nivea Sensitive Day Cream and it just didn't compare to this at all. The Nivea doesn't sink in as well and my face was so shiny after a couple of hours.

Lip Gloss -Smashbox - Lip Enhancing gloss in Pop
epaton 2/7/2011 10:11:00 PM
I got this from ACW for about $5. What a find!! A really flattering colour, and I love that it's not shimmery. Super pretty, great for everyday or to dress up with a smoky eye. The only thing I don't like is the brush applicator. The smell is a little sickly, but nothing too terrible. Good smooth texture. Look forward to getting more Smashbox lip glosses!

Concealers -L'Oreal - Touche Magique
epaton 2/7/2011 10:01:00 PM
I've been on a mission to find a suitable under eye concealer for my dark circles. I have some small millia, fine lines, dryness, and my under eye skin is thin. Most concealers cling to the dry areas and accentuate the fine lines but not this fabulous stuff. This is the first L'Oreal product I've actually really liked. I've got this in Ivory Beige which is a shade or 2 lighter than my skin. It blends in well and then I use my foundation over it (CG aqua smooth). Not crazy about the twist pen brush applicator, but it's not too bad once you get used to it. This won hands down over the Revlon Age Defying Moisturising Concealer for the eye area. Not cheap at about $28 Australian, but worth it. Highly recommend!!

Concealers -BeneFit Cosmetics - You're Bluffing [DISCONTINUED]
epaton 2/7/2011 9:39:00 PM
Benefit is hit and miss for me. I bought this to use on redness around my nose area. It's quite a soft, creamy texture and when putting make up over it, you feel as though it's just getting spread around, not staying where you need it. The problem I had with this is that it really emphasized my pores and blackheads around my nose area. I just couldn't use it because it looks so bad.

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express The Colossal Waterproof
epaton 2/7/2011 9:34:00 PM
This is one of the many mascara's I've been trialling in my quest to find a decent one that doesn't give me panda eyes. Pros: Much nicer brush than CG last blash volume. Not as clumpy a formula as CG. Cons: Takes a lot of swipes to build up volume. Because it's waterproof it can be hard to get off, and after wearing it for about a week I felt is was too harsh on my lashes. Worn on the lower lashes this STILL smudged on me after 4 hrs at work. Packaging a bit garish. Still looking....!

Crème -Cover Girl - Aqua Smooth Make-Up in Creamy Natural (# 720)
epaton 1/30/2011 2:26:00 AM
Ok, so I've come back to this after about 7 yrs away using MMU and I have to say I still really love it!!! Now I'm in my early 30's I need something that gives me more coverage than MMU. I've tried Revlon Colorstay and for me this Covergirl Aqua Smooth is so much better! It's a great consistency - looks creamy/wet-ish in the pack but sets nice and matte( but not chalky). Great for people with combination or oily skin. I tried applying this with an Ecotools foundation brush, but the sponge it comes with does a better job for me. I've been out all day sweating in the 32C heat here in Australia and it still looks fabulous 8 hrs later with only a couple of tissue dabs during the day. The only negative is the odour....it is a little strong to begin with, but I find I get used to it after a while. It retails here for about $18 AU.

Huge fail for me... Made my face an oil slick, red and flaky dry. Did nothing to improve acne. Generally horrible stuff!

I have really dry hands and this didn't cut it for me unfortunately. Ok smell, and soaks in well. Just no deep or long lasting moisturising power.

Lotions/ Creams -Yes To Carrots - Body Moisturizing Lotion

This is an ok moisturiser if you don't have dry skin. It soaks in really well and smells nice but doesn't have much moisturising power.
