Primer/ Corrector -Clinique - Redness Solutions Daily Protective Base

overall This product is a mixed bag, as others have mentioned the texture is thick and clagy. it made me feel like my skin was congested and made white heads appear on my face, the colour made me really pale but i thought it did reduce the redness on my checks, redness is something i really hate and wish didnt affect me at all. i used this product on and off for a while but now it is retired since i have better lotions to use anyway

Fragrances -Thierry Mugler - Womanity

I didnt like it. i was forced to try it by my friend who is a SA. it was terrible because he was so excited to show me this perfume highlighting the packaging and unique scent. I sprayed it on my wrist and sniffed a few times, it was awful, my only thought was cigarettes stale smoke or somthing else odd, my friends agreed with the cigarette smell, there isnt much point analysing this further its just so bad. we quickly left without buying anything.

Toners -Clinique - Mild Clarifying Lotion

I liked a lot about this cute toner, the packaging the nice smell, the texture and soothing effects, but overall all it is isnt very much, i will probably end up buying it again, but so much more could be added to make this a champion in the toner category.

Mens -Clinique - Facial Scrub for men
rated 2 of 5
enzyme1 12/24/2010 10:08:00 AM

this product is unusable, i had a sample of it from the nice clinique lady but i should have known as i prepared it in my hand, it is an overly gritty a bonanza of irritating effects only made worse by the menthol. My skin was already smooth before i used this so i cant comment on its exfoliating effects, but i have to say that this excessively abrasive scrub is only inviting trouble. It has found a use as a hand scrub, perhaps a foot scrub as well., overall scrubs are a dated exfoliation method, i now fully endorse bha and aha products, maybe even PHA.

CD/Books/Movies -Paula's Choice - Don't Go to the Cosmetics Counter Without Me 6th Edition
rated 5 of 5
enzyme1 12/17/2010 6:14:00 AM

A fair and credible book loaded with facts and the latest research in how to care for skin. Paula rates products based on the research behind the ingredients they contain and allocating them an unhappy, happy or happy+ face to indicate there usefulness for skin. At times when a company has released a new and untested ingredient the product is left unrated and paula explains in more detail what the product contains and may or may not be able to do,. Paula punishes products that contain irritating natural and synthetic ingredients, and praises those that contain natural or synthetic ingredients that have been shown to improve skin tone, texture and overall appearance, The cosmetic dictionary at the back allows more insight for consumers to learn about what their products contain,. it is always interesting to see how paula views products in the 7th version triclosan was dismissed but in the 8th it is praised. this book is needed to sort out the confusing and crazy world of cosmetics but even so changes are so frequent what research shows is good today may be bad the next, the main message that is always mentioned is that cosmetics can only do so much, sunscreen is paulas hero. as well as ipl, but of course the main point of this business is to look more attractive so if your product isnt doing that then there is an issue.

Moisturizers -Clinique - Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion
rated 3 of 5
enzyme1 9/5/2010 7:39:00 AM

It is too expensive for what it is. It contains no antioxidants or cell communicating ingredients, it ends up being just a bland ordinary moisturizer. I bought it because i liked the smell, almost nostalgic. But it didnt do much for my skin, at times i thought it made my skin feel dewy and soft, and there are certainly worse lotions to find. But this is just too expensive and really you would be better off finding something else with a little more kick. Bottom line is if you are thinking about buying this lotion DONT, because they hand it out in free samples all the time with GWP and you can ask for a little 3 step trial kit anyway. If you are using it now and like it look around for better examples in the facial lotion market.

Sunscreen -Neutrogena - Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock SPF 30
rated 2 of 5
enzyme1 8/18/2010 8:53:00 AM

I always like looking at USA sunscreen formulas, in AUS this would be labeled spf 15, our spf 30 has even more sunscreen actives but even its protective factor will not save it today. I enjoyed this sunblock until i found a better one by paulas choice, then realized it was not worth putting up with. I must ad that this might work for you and it is cheap and that is a plus which means you wont be afraid to use enough of it for protection. However I found it too sticky and gross for daily use and dreaded putting it on, i dislike the fragrance neutrogena have added I assume to cover up the traditional sunblock smell but i like fragrance free so much more than any smell that has been added to a product. I suppose it is a hard fact to get around but high SPFs feel tacky, they leave a residue that is unpleasant, lower spfs which are nicer are problematic but I dont sit in the sun so only rely on sunscreen for incidental sunlight exposure. So disappointingly this product is not for me. just bear in mind that there are better formulations but sadly there definitely worse sunblocks than this

Moisturizers -Neutrogena - Oil Free Moisture - SPF 15
rated 1 of 5
enzyme1 8/18/2010 8:42:00 AM

It gets a 1/5 because I threw it out into the garbage, it was a tiresome bland formula, so average it begs to be updated. it doesnt contain any UVA protecting ingredients which means it isnt worth putting up with what becomes a dull depressed formula with average consistency. It is even worse because in Australia on the actives and preservatives are listed which means i should have known better so it is really shame on me.

Lotions/ Creams -Paula's Choice - Weightless Body Treatment with 2% BHA
rated 5 of 5
enzyme1 8/18/2010 8:35:00 AM

A great product which actually exfoliates gently, I use it mainly on my face even though it is designed for the body so it is stronger than the facial defoliants due to its lower PH. I really like the pearlescent texture that should take 15 minutes to absorbs, even though it is a lotion it is very light even lighter than the gel and liquid BHA forumulations for me. expensive for a body lotion but if you just use it on problem areas it is very useful

Toners -Paula's Choice - Skin Balancing Toner
rated 5 of 5
enzyme1 8/18/2010 8:29:00 AM

I really like this product, for my skin type it is perfect, it has a really gentle smell almost like flower petals. I must buy this again because its continued use seems to reduce inflammation so that is a plus. It contains niacinamide high up on the ingredient list which is supposed to regenerate skin, but there is still research to be done on it. but it even has good studies showing it reduces acne.

Treatments -Paula's Choice - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Lotion Exfoliant
rated 3 of 5
enzyme1 8/18/2010 8:25:00 AM

I paid $28 aus for this, but it didnt really do anything at all. It felt sticky upon application and so i only put it on at night, It never burned or irritated but even after using it until it was depleted the results were not noticed at all. I have replaced it with the paulas choice weightless body lotion with 2% bha and that has worked very well for my face, reducing blackheads and white heads. I would try the clear regular strength toner before this it has 2%bha as well but is said to be a much lighter consistency. To finish I would buy this if it had dramatic results but it didnt so oh well. it was one of those "is it working...oh i dont know if it is" but it does have the chance to work

Skincare - Face -Evian - le Brumisateur
rated 5 of 5
enzyme1 8/18/2010 8:12:00 AM

A sucker born every minute ? nooo ! . people think im insane when i bring this out and it looks like water in a can. but it is better than simply spraying yourself with an atomizer, this is the replacement for the eu de thermale avene version, which was very calming and soothing as well, but this has more appealing packaging. I spray myself when i am hot and just bothered, why not simply splash my face with water from the tap? because this is a luxury item and it is an indulgence worth having. Just buy it and enjoy the soft dewy skin it gives you.
