Powder -BeneFit Cosmetics - Hello Flawless!
emmy_nyc 3/16/2009 6:20:00 PM
I have been wearing this powder for about two weeks and it is ok. It does cover more than the Get Even powder, but I think the Get Even powder controls oil much better. I don't think I will repurchase the Hello Flawless, instead I will go back to my Get Even powder.

Misc Beauty Tools -Everyday Minerals - Flocked Sponge
emmy_nyc 1/29/2008 4:56:00 PM
I purchased the flocked sponge from EM about a month ago. When I first used the sponge, I thought it was the greatest thing...until it started to fall apart. I liked the flocked sponge that they had before. Just the other day I went to a local beauty supply store and found some flocked sponges that were $1.50 for a set of two. I find the sponges from the beauty supply store to be more fluffier and softer than EM.

Powder -Physicians Formula - Mineral Wear Talc-Free Mineral Loose Powder
emmy_nyc 7/14/2007 5:09:00 PM
After reading all the rave reviews for this product, I decided to try it. I purchased the Translucent Light. I was really afraid that this product might be too dark or too pink for my skin tone. I am really fair with yellow undertone. I was impressed with the color and the coverage. It was not too dark at all and the color was neutral. I used a big shadow brush to conceal and it worked great. Then I used the small brush that came with the product and buff the powder onto my face and it was amazing. It covers redness better than the Benefit Get Even powder...but....the coverage does not last too long (lasted about 4 hrs on me without a touch up)...I have combo skin type and I could just imagine how fast this powder would wear off on someone with an oily skin type. The brush that comes with this powder is a bit rough. Oil control is not the greatest and it can look cakey if applied too much. I don't think you can compare this product to products like B.E. because this product does contain minerals but it is not 100% mineral and it does contain fillers. I like this product but I would use it in a different way. I am back to using Benefit Get Even, because I only need a small amount of this powder and it lasts all day and oil control is great. After I apply Benefit, I just take the small concealer brush and dab the Physicians Formula Mineral loose powder on areas I want to tone down on redness. EDIT: I tried this loose powder again today and it felt a little bit heavy, when you first apply it, it feels nice and light but 4 hours later it feels heavy and coated. I do not apply much and I don't have an oily complexion either. The pressed powder version is much lighter feeling but does not cover as well as the loose powder. The loose powder also looked a bit shiny and really didn't control oil at all. I guess I will just use this powder when I am home and not going anywhere important or I can use it as a concealer. The loose powder is pretty average, not the worst , not the best. I guess the only product that I really love from PF are the baked eye shadows. Since PF was not my HG in mineral makeup, I ordered samples from Everyday Minerals in matte today, so we will see if this brand works out. Blush -Laura Geller - Berry Blush N Brighten

I recieved this as a free bonus when I ordered from QVC. At first glance I didn't like the color but when I applied it...it was really pretty. This is my HG blush. I love it and it looks so natural. I am really fair and it gives me a nice glow. I dust it lightly because it can get really dark on fair skins.

Pressed Powders -Laura Geller - Matte Maker Invisible Oil Blotting Powder w/Brush
emmy_nyc 7/2/2007 6:17:00 PM
I love this product. I use Get Even in the morning and use Matte Maker Invisible Oil Blotting powder as a touch up powder. I only have to touch up once and I am good for the rest of the day. This powder is so sheer and helps your make up stay on longer and controls oil really great. Sometimes I just use Laura Geller's Illuminizing Color Wash in Mystic Pink and apply this powder and I am good to go.

Other -Laura Geller - Sheer Beauty Collection

This review is for the Laura Geller 1-oz illuminating color wash in mystic pink. This product is very sheer with tiny shimmers that gives you a hint of color and a glow from within look. I am very fair and this product looks great and you won't look like a disco ball in the sunlight either.

Pressed Powders -BeneFit Cosmetics - Get Even
emmy_nyc 7/2/2007 5:55:00 PM
I used to use color ID and clinique powder but now I just use this powder. I think Get Even gives you a polished look without having to use foundation. I use this powder with a brush...warning if you use the puff it comes with, it can look too heavy. In the morning I just put on a dab of Laura Geller's color wash and little bit of concealer and finish it off with a light dusting of Get Even and I love the look. Through out the day I use Laura Geller's Matte Maker Invisible Oil BlottingPowder for touch ups. Overall I am happy with Get Even, it does what it is suppose to do but like I said it is too pricey.
