Treatments -Pro Activ - Proactiv Repairing Lotion
emmibabyy 8/19/2012 11:29:00 AM
A necessity for me. I used to use the whole proactiv treatment which pretty much ruined my skin. Now I just use this, keeps most break outs at bay. When I feel a really bad painful one coming on, I put a whole bunch of this on the area and usually it never even comes. It stops hurting and never comes to a head. Best benzoyl peroxide treatment you can buy in my opinion. But do NOT buy directly from Proactiv, buy on amazon. You can get a huge bottle for a little less than 20$. Lasts me for months.

Cleansers -AcneFree - 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide Cleanser
emmibabyy 8/17/2012 9:57:00 AM
Oh I'm so glad I found this! My sister bought it on sale and I used it out of desperation one night when I was breaking out. I was previously using zest soap and the basis vitamin bar - anything simple because of how sensitive my skin is. Let me tell you, I am SO sensitive. Everything breaks me out! I'm literally allergic to salycic acid, I break out in terrible cystic acne. It took me way too long to figure that one out. I used to use Proactivs cleanser, which is way way too strong and too drying and irritating and still broke me out. I was scared this was going to be similar. And I really didn't like the 'stays in your pores even after you wash it off' thing. I've always thought what's the point of benzoyl peroxide in a cleanser when it just rinses off? Well obviously they're doing something right. Helped me clear up right away - from the very first time I used it my skin just felt nice and good. The painful acne I had at the time stopped hurting. Everything cleared up. I'm so happy with this. The fact it cleared me up and didnt irritate my skin or make me super red - A+. If it can help my impossible skin it can help anyones. It IS a little bit drying - I don't actually feel any tightness but there's some dry spots on my cheeks. Not bad at all, and nothing like proactiv. Thank god.

BB Cream -Garnier - BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector - Light/Medium
emmibabyy 8/17/2012 9:42:00 AM
Well first let me say wow! My sister actually bought this and I used it and now I'm going to buy my own! I actually went and bought an expensive BB cream by skin79 and was so disappointed, it made me so white and went on cakey! After that I was pretty hesitant to try the 'cheap' version - how could it be any better? So I was definitely surprised when I liked it so much. It went on sooo nice - I used a sponge - not cakey at all, nice and even. Not patchy in the dry areas. Not orange or anything, I have the 'medium/deep' color. Matched me so good! I like that it's so light, I usually wear just some light powder or no makeup at all, I can't stand the heavy makeup feel on my skin and how cakey makeup can look. But I definitely don't have perfect skin, I just had a bad break out that left me with some icky spots and those little zits that are so annoying. This definitely covered those up enough that I felt good about my skin but didn't feel like I had this heavy layer on. I let it dry then apply some powder on top after about 20 minutes. Perfect. My skin looks nice and pretty. I actually think it stands up pretty good, I have fairly oily skin on my forehead that I always have to worry about so I did a 'test' and waited 6 hours to see how oily it got. Not very much! I just had a tiny little bit. I definitely think using a makeup sponge helps so much in applying it - if your getting oily and your just using your hands or a makeup brush use a sponge instead! I've been using it about a week and i haven't broken out, my skin is extremely sensitive so I would've known very quickly if it was going to. And I will say my skin does actually look better! I definately update if it breaks me out or makes a huge improvement in my skin, but right now I'm loving it and I think I found my HG makeup!

Skincare - Body -Unlisted Brand - Tea Tree Oil
emmibabyy 8/7/2012 12:56:00 AM
Never ever again! I have the MOST sensitive skin, I'm allergic to salycic acid for criss sakes - and any kind of oil, I don't care what kind it is, WILL break me out. This proves it. I bought some of this after reading up on how great it is for skin, how it helps break outs, blah blah blah. I'm having a rare for me crazy breakout - I had stopped wearing makeup completely, I use zest soap to wash my face and Vaseline to moisturize. My skin routine is so basic I wasn't sure what to do when I started breaking out. Oh let's put some oil on it! I'm sure that'll help! I even diluted it with water to a 9:1 ratio like your supposed to. I used a Q tip to spot treat, I was so hopeful that this 'special' tea tree oil would be an exception. Nope. I woke up with big CYSTIC painful acne. !!!!! Before it was bad but at least it was just little annoying ones. If you have sensitive skin that tends to react to the teensiest bit of oil - like 'coconut oil' or 'mineral oil' in cleansers and moisturizers - don't take the risk. If you have to wash your face after eating greasy food because it will make you breakout - just don't do it! For some people I understand it's amazing. Not for me, not for sensitive girls.

Lotions/ Creams -Unlisted Brand - Millennium Solid Black Tanning Lotion
emmibabyy 6/8/2012 12:04:00 AM
I love this stuff! I'm very fair and have a hard time tanning evenly, especially on my legs. I put a layer of this all over, rubbing it in very well and hit the tanning bed - within a couple hours I'm nice and brown. At first I was afraid it was just self tanner, so I applied it and didn't go tanning - didn't do anything. It has stuff in it that really does keep working after you go tanning - which means you should try to wait a day before showering for best results. I go tanning and work out at the same time so its hard for me to wait to shower. Also, its fine on your face as well - I was scared it'd make me break out (because it does contain some oil) but it was fine. Also I usually get red-faced after tanning - when I used this I didn't have ANY redness what-so-ever. The main thing you need to remember when using this is RUB IT IN. It's not sticky at ALL so you can apply it, get dressed and go tan. It can (and will) tan you streaky if you don't fully rub it in. And wash your hands right after tanning, it will stain them orange if you don't. And it actually smells good! (: I ordered mine off of amazon for about 17$. Will be buying again.

Shampoo -John Frieda - Color Restore
emmibabyy 6/7/2012 11:26:00 PM
A must for me. I lighten my hair to a golden blonde that easily becomes brassy. When I use this I notice how much nicer the color is. My only complaint is that it's pretty drying, so make sure you use a good conditioner.

Eye Shadow -Bare Escentuals - Glimpse in Cupcake
emmibabyy 6/7/2012 11:23:00 PM
I love it! Such a pretty color, I always get compliments on it. The only thing I'd complain about would be the packaging - a lot of it ends up getting wasted if your not careful. They need to update the container to be like their foundation one. It's pretty expensive, 13$ a pop, but it does last a couple months. If you don't end up spilling it everywhere.

Powder -Bare Escentuals - Matte Foundation spf 15
emmibabyy 6/7/2012 11:19:00 PM
For me, this is an *okay* product. I use it when I'm breaking out and need some coverage. I actually wish it was lighter coverage - a little bit and you definitely look made up. I try my best to just not wear face make up at all. My skin is always happier that way. I'm not really sure if this *causes* me to break out, but if I wear some of this one day, I end up needing to wear more the next day. And the day after. It's a vicious cycle it seems like. I like the new packaging alot. It keeps you from wasting product. And I haven't noticed too much of a difference between the 'matte' and regular. And the color isn't ever orange - that's a plus. And the SPF definitely works - I have to make sure I'm not wearing any of this when I go tanning or I don't get any color. I'll keep using this until I find something better.

Makeup Brushes -Sephora - Sephora Kabuki Brush
emmibabyy 6/7/2012 11:05:00 PM
Bad. Just bad. I wasted about 20$ on this product. I can't remember if it started out soft - it must have right? - but after a couple weeks the bristles got very rough. They fell out so much that I'd have bristles on my face after putting powder on, kind of embarrassing. It actually hurt my face applying powder - just don't do it. Complete waste. I bought a 100x better brush for 7$. Ridiculous.

Makeup Brushes -Ecotools - retractable kabuki
emmibabyy 6/7/2012 10:44:00 PM
So great! I love the design - so cute and convenient, keeps the brush clean. SO soft, I can't believe it was so cheap. I bought mine on amazon for about 7 bucks - I couldn't believe it, especially buying all these expensive sephora brushes. This is ten times better than the sephora kabuki I had, which was rough and fell apart and just bad all together. Applys my BE makeup very well. Everyone should have one!

Eye Primer -Urban Decay - Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Original (UDPP)
emmibabyy 6/7/2012 10:37:00 PM
One of the only things I use every day! I've always had problems with getting oily during the day, have my eyeshadow crease, eyeliner/mascara rubbing off and making a mess. This solved it for me! I have the kind in a tube - I like it a lot and more hygenic I think. It even keeps my eyeliner on, so I don't have to get special 'waterproof' eyeliner. This stuff is so good I go and workout, get completely sweaty and gross and everything's still in place. My baby sis even noticed after - "wow your makeup looks exactly the same". This is one of the few products I 'splurged' on, and I'm glad it didn't disappoint. Oh and another thing - I've had the same tube for 6 months and I haven't ran out. You only need a little. Definitely worth it!

Mascara -LORAC - Multiplex 3D Lashes Volumizing & Thickening Mascara
emmibabyy 6/7/2012 10:15:00 PM
First let me say that I never buy pricy mascaras like this. I always buy the cheap drugstore stuff, simply because I don't need my mascara to do much. I already have long, thick eyelashes. I don't need length, I don't need volume. My mascara simply has to do 2 things - keep my eyelashes curly and very black. It is nice and black, I'll give it that. And it does hold on pretty good - which is why I'm confused that it doesn't hold a curl for me. At least, by itself it certainly doesn't. I do like the packaging and brush - it declumps itself (mostly) and I like the plastic bristles. But my eyelashes won't stay curly. Very sad. I'm going to experiment and see if I pre curl and use other mascara's if it'll stay. If I somehow figure out how to make it work, I'll definitely update. Till then, this product is a no for me.

Cleansers -Philosophy - the microdelivery exfoliating wash
emmibabyy 1/10/2010 3:53:00 AM
THIS STUFF IS AMAZING! My skin has never looked better. It has COMPLETELY cleared up. I actually look kind of... "glowy". My acne-marks are completely faded. One day I actually FORGOT to put on face makeup because my skin looked so good already. I didn't even break out during my monthly visit. I actually had NO IDEA my monthly was on its way because I usually break out like crazy. It's hard to believe something this great even exists. Normally, my skin breaks out like crazy & is super oily, dull, & red. I also have very sensitive skin, so I normally skip over exfoliating cleansers like this one. I only used this because it was the only cleanser around, my usual cleanser was out. Talk about getting lucky. For the first time, EVER, I have been getting compliments on my skin. My friends have told me my skin is looking a lot better; even my brutally-honest mom said "Wow, your skin looks good." It's amazing. Oh, and I ADORE the packaging. Its perfect. I've been using this both morning & night, which I probably shouldn't be doing. I haven't noticed any dryness yet, but we will see. I'll update if my results take a turn for the worse. UPDATE! JUNE 6 2012: Okay, this used to be the best product ever. However they changed the formula - it now includes OIL. I recently bought it again, excited remembering how great it used to be. It broke me out terribly - big cystic ones and lots of little ones. It took me awhile to realize that it was THIS causing it. Once I took another look at the ingredient list and realized my mistake I was pretty unhappy, to say the least. Maybe this will still work for someone who is able to use some oils - the kind that are supposed to be okay for your skin - but not if you are extremely sensitive like I am. Sad.

Cleansers -Philosophy - Purity Made Simple (Real Purity Cleanser)
emmibabyy 1/10/2010 3:18:00 AM
well, i really did want to like this. before i used it, i look at the ingredients and noticed that it contains alot of oils, but i tried to stay calm. i had heard that it was very popular and alot of people used it, so i figured it MUST be great. yeah, no. i was only motivated to buy this in the first place because i had been using a different product by philosophy that had been working really well. my normally-crazy-acne-prone-skin was not only completely clear, i had been actually getting compliments on my skin! even during my 'time of the month' i hadnt been breaking out, so i figured i should try other stuff by philosophy too. WORST. IDEA. EVER. this cleanser made me break out like crazy. my complexion looked dull and red. and i only used this cleanser for like 3 days, and i used in conjunction with another cleanser. i dont really understand how so many people love this, i can only assume that its just a bad product for people with sensitive AND acne-prone/oily skin. do NOT use this stuff if you have sensitive skin!
