Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Michigan Country Soapworks - Milk and Honey
emmazamora2000 12/14/2007 12:51:00 PM
This is a review for an etailer I just discovered called "michigan country soapworks". I tried their perfume oil in Milk and Honey. I initially didn't like it because of an initial almondy smell upon application. A few days later, I tried it again and it has been growing on me... it's a perfume that's good for those days when I don't really want to smell perfumey. Ingredients are simple, just jojoba oil and fragrance. Ilene, the owner, is super nice with great (and fast-- got my order in a week) customer service. I'm going to try the scent "comfort" next. It's still in the mail!

Lotions/ Creams -Unlisted Brand - EXTRA VIRGIN Coconut Oil (All brands)
emmazamora2000 12/14/2007 12:36:00 PM
I have been using this for over 6 months as a moisturizer. Goes well as a morning and evening moisturizer. I use this after my cleanser in the morning, then I wash it off with water and towel off. In the evenings, I put this under my eyes, patting gently and I let it stay overnight. Also great for hair, takes away flakes during the winter time and gives me baby soft hair!

This is a review for Michigan Country Soapworks perfume oil, in Milk & Honey. The perfume oil is very good quality -- made of jojoba oil and frangrance oils. Long lasting. But taking off one lippie because it smelled too almondy for my taste, although am sure other may like this type of scent.

I wore this yesterday and I'm wearing this now. It only got 3 lippies because it turned into bugspray on me after an hour. Beautiful fragrance at the start, though. Must be my chemistry :(

Blush -Everyday Minerals - blush all
emmazamora2000 6/5/2006 7:52:00 PM
I have Apple, Girl's Day, Light Pink, the Everyday Bronzer, Daydream and Natural. My favorite is Apple. It never fails to brighten up my face. My friends also use and love Apple, and the have different complexions (one is a Tan, another is a Medium Tan; I am a Medium Beige). Great blush all around. For a fresh look all day, I reapply middle of the day, but I don't mind. Girl's Day is ok, too, though it makes me seem more mature, I think. Maybe I'll mix it with Light Pink to make it look lighter.

Blush -Cover Girl - Classic Color 'Soft Mink'
emmazamora2000 3/16/2006 1:22:00 PM
My new HG blush! I can't believe MUA ladies have not commented more on this blush. I prefer to NARS orgasm, which looks too 'babyish' on me. I like Milani Luminous too, but sometimes I find it too pink. The Soft Mink is more peachy on me, with just enough shimmer to keep the color from falling flat on my face. This makes a good "bronzer" on me as well, even if I have medium color tones. Definitely a great buy for less than $5, a lot of product for the price, and lasts all day!

Blush -Milani - Smooth Finish Blush - Luminous
emmazamora2000 2/26/2006 6:25:00 PM
HG blush! I previously shunned this because I've been disappointed by it's similar cousins-- NARS Orgasm is too flat/dull on me, and Wet n Wild pearlescent pink is too striking on me. I tried a friend's Milani Luminous and was so happy with the result! It is subtle but definitely there, and just makes me look, well, luminous! Lasts all day too. Impressive for a cheap blush.

Lip Gloss -Chanel - Giggle Glossimer
emmazamora2000 2/8/2006 6:09:00 PM
I'm very impressed with this product. It is expensive, but I want a quality product which I can wear everyday. I'd rather pay for something so essential for everyday wear. For experimental glosses in more adventurous colors, I can go for Wet n Wild or NYC. Anyway, I wear Giggle on top of LOccitane's tinted lip balm in blackberry. The result is a soft, subtle muave. Feminine and sexy!

Powder -Aromaleigh - Voile [DISCONTINUED]
emmazamora2000 1/18/2006 4:49:00 PM
Voile is my HG foundation for almost a year now. One jar lasts me about 4-5 months, so it's worth the $$. Can be as light or as heavy as I want it to be. I apply with a foam wedge, not a brush. Lasts all day but I usually re-apply a bit at lunchtime. Looks very natural on my face (I use 3N) and never breaks me out although I am prone to acne.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Honey
emmazamora2000 1/13/2006 1:15:00 PM
I tried this based on MUA reviews and I'm loving it! I've been using Clearasil cleansing pads for my acne prone chin and it's frustrating to see a new pimple on the same spot every morning. I decided to give honey a try and it worked! Apparently, the Clearasil was too strong for me-- but the honey looks just right for my skin ph. After my ritual of cleanser (aveeno)and toner (apple cider vinegar blend), I washed my skin with 'honey water' (water with 1 teaspoon honey in it), and put pure honey on the problem areas. The next day, I wake up to glowing, calm, moisturized skin without the pimples! Thanks to MUA for this idea!

Fragrances -Caron - Tubereuse
emmazamora2000 12/20/2005 2:36:00 PM
There's something about the Carons that makes one love them more and more over time. The more I smell Caron tubereuse, the more I like it. It is a living flower scent, and gives the concept of the "whole" flower-- green tubes, blooms and all. Very nice spring/summer scent but can be worn during cold weather too. Good sillage, lasts for about 2 hours. The drydown itself persists for more than that, of course. I like this a lot, but my HG remains Or et Noir.

Fragrances -Bulgari - Rose Essentielle EDP - limted edition
emmazamora2000 12/20/2005 2:31:00 PM
This is a disappointment. It starts out all sparkly and feminine-- great start! But the (very long) dry down on me is chemically and musty, the most unattractive scent ever.

Fragrances -Caron - Narcisse Noir
emmazamora2000 12/1/2005 5:59:00 PM
This is a review for the EDT, the parfum, and I'd even throw in a review on the Blanc. I have to warn you ladies that there is a world of difference between the NN EDT and the parfum. The EDT is very floral and aldehydic. Still nice, still classy, but nothing 'noir' about it. I got orange blossoms from start to finish (3 hours for the EDT). But when I got my parfum bottle, ahhh! I got back the 'noir' in Narcisse Noir. I get more the basenotes which I love. I compared the EDT and the parfum on each of my wrists and they are WORLDs apart. I sometimes layer the EDT on the parfum. Strangely, the parfum doesn't last very long on my skin, but the EDT does. I think the reviews below are mixed because some review the EDT, while some review the parfum. The NN parfum is definitely similar to the NBlanc, except the latter is simpler and also 'sharper' (but in a good way). NN (I prefer the parfum over the EDT) is a lovely perfume, very wearable and not cloying. This is my 'grown-up' perfume.

Cleansers -Aveeno - Positively Radiant Cleanser
emmazamora2000 11/29/2005 6:02:00 PM
Great cleanser! Mild smelling, non-drying (I have combo skin), takes away make-up. I combine this with my homemade apply-cider-vinegar toner and my olive-oil moisturizer with superb results. Altogether, my pores have become noticeably smaller and my skin radiant. My friends notice the difference.
