Lip Treatments -C.O. Bigelow - Rose Salve
emilychristine 2/18/2013 1:22:00 AM
This stuff is amazing. I have extremely dry skin, especially in the winter. It gets to the point to where I have dry, flaky patches on my skin. This is the ONLY moisturizer/balm that will get rid of it. I know a lot of people use this only for their lips, but it works extremely well for dry skin, too. It is soft and does not feel heavy. Because it does make my skin look quite greasy (obviously), I only use this at night, but I wake up with really nice, smooth skin when I do use it. I also love the scent. It definitely smells like roses, and it does have a floral smell (at least to me, but I love it). It's really nice and calming. The only con I can think of about this product is the packaging. It looks cute and all, but it is so hard to open. It got to the point where I had to use pliers with my dad (lol) to get it open, so now I just have it in a plastic baggie. It doesn't really matter to me, but it was just really annoying because it would take me like 5 minutes to open it. For the price, this is worth it. I don't think it's really all that expensive..it could be considered a high end product in my book. I would really recommend this for anyone with very dry skin, or just anyone who wants to properly hydrate their skin, because this will do it. I also like the lavender salve, but I just like this one more because I like the scent better. However, they both work the same. :)

Foundations -Rimmel - Clean Finish
emilychristine 1/3/2013 10:38:00 PM
I bought this product because of the great reviews that I read on here. I was so excited to try it out. The very first time I did, I really disliked it. I think the main reason why I dislike it so much is that it really oxidized on my skin....within seconds. The color looks like the right match for my skin, but once I blend it in, it looks awful and so orange. The texture is very nice and smooth and I really like the spatula applicator, but I just really hate how orange this product turns out to be. I think if it wasn't for that, this product would be really nice. I got the lightest shade, btw.

Conditioner -TRESemme - Naturals Nourishing Moisture Conditioner
emilychristine 7/27/2012 12:30:00 AM
Ahhh, this conditioner is amazing! along with the shampoo! I never really write reviews on hair products, but I just had to for this one. I don't know what it is about this shampoo and conditioner, but it really makes my hair so soft and full of life. I've tried a couple conditioners after using this one, and nothing else compares..even higher end products. I would definitely recommend this if you are looking for a great quality conditioner that does what every conditioner should...moisturize your hair!

Concealers -Sonia Kashuk - Hidden Agenda Concealer Kit
emilychristine 4/6/2012
Before this concealer...I never really used any concealer at all. I have pretty clear, normal skin and my foundation usually covers all the spots I need. But after hearing about how wonderful this palette is, I decided to give it a whirl and I'm so glad I did! The formula is very creamy and easy to blend. If you are planning to use it anywhere near the eyes though, make sure to apply a heavy moisturizer before, because it tends to dry my skin around my eyes out if I don't. When applied after a moisturizer, this concealer gives a beautiful finish. It is sort of a dewy glow, I feel like. I really love the two concealer shades, but the green shade is tricky. I have used it on a few blemishes, but it ends up looking like a really weird green color on my skin. I feel as if it doesn't cancel out my redness, but then again I probably am not applying it correctly. The powder is okay as well. It has some shimmers, which I'm not too fond of, but I think it's really neat that it does come with some type of setting powder. Also, this does not tend to crease under my eyes. It does on my eyelids, but I don't really mind. I love this stuff, I'd recommend it (:

Liquid -Rimmel - Lasting Finish 25 Hour Foundation
emilychristine 4/5/2012 11:45:00 PM
When I first bought this foundation, I didn't like it. Because I am very pale, I thought it was too dark for my skintone even in the lightest shade. It also felt sticky on my face throughout the day. I bought it because of all the rave about it on this website and Youtube...so I decided to try it again and I'm glad I did! I realized that this actually matches my skin perfectly. I was so used to using Revlon Colorstay in the lightest shade..but it turns out Colorstay was actually too light for me, and Rimmel is just the right color. It gives me a nice, dewy, glowy finish, yet it doesn't look shiny and shimmery. It really does stay on for a very, very long time as well. I've noticed how fresh my skin looks even after I've been spent twelve hours away from home at school and work! It is amazing. A little bit of this goes a long way, so it really will last for quite some time. It doesn't look cakey, but yet you can build the coverage if you wish. It doesn't highlight any of the dry areas of my face. The only con I can think of is that it leaves my face slightly oily on my t-zone at the end of the day. It is annoying, but it doesn't get oily until after about eight hours. For the price (ranges from six to eight dollars), I would say this is a fantastic foundation. It works better than almost any other foundation I've tried (and they all were much more expensive). I'd recommend this!! (:

Lipstick -Revlon - ColorBurst Lip Butter - Raspberry Pie
emilychristine 3/31/2012 11:09:00 PM
What a gorgeous color! I have recently been obsessed with the whole tinted lip balm craze, and this may be my favorite of them all. Raspberry Pie is a deep, reddish color. I would say it is even sort of a dark fuschia. I have very fair skin and I think it complements my tone a lot. The only bad thing about it is that it is not super moisturizing unless I apply a lot of it. And for everyday wear....well, I don't want to apply a lot because I don't want the really bold look it gives everyday. I have noticed, however, that even though it doesn't moisturize too much, it doesn't dry my lips out either, which is a huge plus. It also doesn't leave any type of nasty residue on my lips like some other lip products tend to do. It just leaves a very nice raspberry stain on my lips. It is a very flattering color and I love it because it doesn't have any sort of sparkle. I would describe the finish like a matte lip balm. This does not tend to look very glossy on my lips. I would recommend it!

Lip Treatments -Maybelline - Baby Lips lip balm
emilychristine 3/26/2012 11:20:00 PM
I saw this at the drugstore and couldn't pass it up...the packaging is so cute! It was only $3.50, so I decided to give this a try. I bought the color Cherry Me and I love the color payoff! This does a good job of moisturizing my lips while also adding a pop of color. My lips are naturally pretty pigmented so I always try and find the darker tinted lip balms to kind of change it up. Cherry Me shows up as almost a bright fuschia color on my lips...if I apply multiple layers it really stands out and I love it. It goes along nicely with my pale skin that has yellow undertones. I have noticed that it does make my lips sort of peel... and I really hate that. It feels nice on the lips at first and it smells wonderful..but after awhile, my lips start to peel a bit and it tastes horrible and smells bad. I really love it for the color. That is why I will buy this product again, because it actually isn't all that bad.

Liquid -Maybelline - Super Stay Makeup
emilychristine 11/10/2011 9:17:00 PM
I have tried so so many foundations. I had bought this about three months ago, in hopes it would be a foundation that actually had staying power, medium coverage, and a matte/ dewy combination finish. I do not really remember liking this my first few tries, so I put it back in my drawer and didn't touch it until last weekend again. I had watched a makeup tutorial with this foundation and decided to try it once more. I'm so happy I did because it truly lasts for a very long time. I apply my makeup at 7AM and take it off at about 10:30PM. That's not exactly 24 hrs, but it's long enough. At night when I'm about to take it off, it is still there....almost all of it. I did notice that it does fade a bit, but every foundation does. I did notice that it flakes a bit around my t-zone area, but if I apply a lot of lotion in the morning, it doesn't really do much of that. It does get a bit oily in my t-zone as well, but very minimum. I do not use a powder, so I feel as if that would fix that problem. It provides a very clean looking finish, sort of dewy and matte. It gives a healthy glow. I don't apply too much at all, because I have good skin anyways, so I just like a bit of medium coverage since I don't use a concealer. It does good with covering up dark areas and evens out redness. It looks very healthy on my face. The packaging does stink, but it's something I had to get used to. The price is awesome for a drugstore...like $8 or so. have fun (: I would recommend this. PS-this stuff is also a water-based foundation and oil-free. It did not give me any acne whatsoever, and I have very sensitive skin.

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast Fusion
emilychristine 11/10/2011 9:08:00 PM
I ran out of my mascara a few days ago, so I went to the store to buy a new one. I was looking for something that could really bring out my eyes, making them pop; all I wear is mascara, no eyeliner. In addition to mascara, all I wear is foundation and blush. I have naturally big eyes so I wanted to accentuate them. I decided to try this mascara, and I'm so happy I did! It is by far the best I've ever tried. I put a lot on my upper and lower lashes and it just makes my eyes pop out like crazy. Of course, any mascara could probably make my eyes pop out for at least the first hour or two. Then, it all depends on if it flakes, smudges, or simply wears off. The thing I love about this is that it doesn't do any of these things. It stays on all day long and holds my natural eye lash curl. It defines my lashes very well, and does not clump easily whatsoever. It doesn't flake underneath my eyes. At the end of the day, it looks like I just put on mascara. It comes off with a bit of water and soap, not difficult at all. I never really write reviews, especially for eye makeup, but I felt like I needed to for this one just to let you all know how great it is (at least for me). I would really recommend this stuff. I am usually not a big CoverGirl fan, but this stuff's amazing (:

Liquid -Clinique - Even Better Makeup SPF 15
emilychristine 7/5/2011 10:46:00 PM
I bought this product because I was so tired of buying cheap, drug store foundations that never seemed to either match my skin tone and/or stay on all day. I went to Clinique because my mom has used it a lot and because I used Superbalanced about 2 years ago and really liked it. It was a very good decision! I went to the makeup counter at my mall and just asked them to help me find a good foundation. The lady was very helpful and she matched my skin tone perfectly with the foundation. It goes on smoothly and is blendable, which is so nice. It has a kind of dewy finish that looks fresh. I usually use a translucent powder to set it, but sometimes I don't and it looks great either way. This makeup is supposedly said to even out the skin over time, which I haven't really had a chance to see yet. However, I noticed that it has brightened my skin. The only makeup products I use is this foundation, powder (usually), eyeliner, and mascara. I don't use concealer or anything because this foundation has pretty good coverage. I also like that it stays on all day without patching up or looking orange. It looks very natural if you get the correct color for your tone as well. It doesn't seem to sweat off in the heat, either, which is a major plus for the summer. I feel as if it would be a good product during cold months as well. It was like $24.50, which is expensive for me as I'm only 18, but it was worth it. (:

Hair -Moroccanoil - Moroccan Oil
emilychristine 4/22/2011 11:13:00 AM
My mom bought this stuff at her hair salon. I picked it up and used it, not really even knowing what exactly it was supposed to do. The first thing I noticed is that it smells AMAZING. Ahh, it kinda smells like vanilla mixed with honey and it's so amazing. I just put it all over my hair and then blowdryed it. Then straightened it, and all I noticed is that it made my hair more soft, without that sticky, gross finish. It just made it more glossy, that's pretty much it. To this day, I still don't even know what it's supposed to do. But I'm guessing it's just supposed to make hair smoother.

Liquid -Revlon - ColorStay Makeup
emilychristine 4/22/2011 11:06:00 AM
This foundation was supposed to be the best, or so I've heard. I did a lot of research before buying it, and I decided to give it a try. I actually really loved this foundation at first, it made my skin look really pretty and stayed on forever. I remember I could brush my finger across my face and nothing would stick onto it, like many other foundations do. After awhile, however, this stuff made me break out. My skin became kind of dry and it didn't really go on that smoothly anymore. It is very hard to blend, like others say, but it is manageable if you work with it. It has nice coverage as well. The one thing I really dislike is the packaging. why can't this have a pump? haha. I couldn't even get anymore out of it cus I couldn't stick my finger in there and get anymore, which stinks. I didn't buy this foundation again after it was done with, but I probably will next time.

Liquid -Maybelline - Fit Me Foundation
emilychristine 4/22/2011 11:01:00 AM
I remember seeing the commercial for this product a few months back. I was so excited to get my paycheck so I could go buy it and look like one of the models on the tv haha. Much to my surprise, I did not like this foundation very much. It was very hard to blend and the color selection was not very good, which it should have been, hence the "fit me" name. After I used it, I had acne come out of nowhere and I feel like this may have been the cause. I am still recovering from the acne, but this may not have been the cause...I'm not really sure. All I know is that I did not even finish the bottle up (partly because the packaging sucks and I couldn't get anymore out) because I didn't like it. I would at least recommend trying this out, because everyone's skin differs.

Liquid -Maybelline - Dream Liquid Mousse
emilychristine 4/21/2011 11:35:00 PM
This foundation is surprisingly a good foundation, considering that I was very skeptical when I bought it. However, it was only six dollars at Wal-Mart. I had heard many reviews about it, most being that it was horrible, and the rest that it was pretty good. I tried it the next morning and LOVED the fininsh it gave me. I used it with Revlon creme skinlight eyeshadow as well, and it gave a perfect, really pretty finish. It's almost dewy-ish and really does look airbrused. I found the color selection to be excellent for me at least. However, a few hours after, it turned kinda orange around my T-zone. which sucks, but I just put less on the next day. Another negative is that it does make your face pretty oily. Which my face is sorta oily/combo to begin with, so idk. I just know that I love the finish and because of that, I'll probably buy it again. It looks really pretty, but after like seven-ten hours it starts to wear off and look blotchy. you may have to touch up. not as bad as everyone says. (:
