Lip Treatments -Smith's Rosebud Salve - Smith's Rosebud Salve

This is my holy grail lip balm! I have tried so many different chapsticks and lip balms in my life, and none of them have worked nearly as good as the Rosebud Salve. Of course everyone will have a different reaction on their skin to different products, but it's basically like a deliciously scented, incredibly subtly pink, Vaseline/petroleum jelly. Even when my lips are at their most chapped, this stuff doesn't tear at them like a normal chapstick tube would. I love also how it applies with a finger, even though it's not as sanitary I suppose, because it allows me to be as gentle as I like, and it means the product is that much softer and more moisturizing. Also, it's only 5 dollars, which is kind of a lot for your average chapstick, yes, but not a lot at all for this medical miracle. I've used this product probably every day since I got it, which was a year ago, and I still have about 25% of the product left. Also, since I love it so much, I don't just leave it somewhere like I always end up doing with my chapsticks. I believe this will be the first lip product that I'll actually use to the end! And I will keep on buying more and more and more replacements until I die.

Lip Treatments -Maybelline - Baby Lips lip balm

I finally caved and bought a baby lips today, in Pink Punch. It tastes really good, but is not overpowering like some of the Maybelline lip products (think the Super Stay 14hr lipsticks). However, this thing doesn't do anything to moisturize my lips. If I want my lips to look nice, I have to apply my rosebud salve (HG lip balm product) and THEN the baby lips over it. And although it is a sheer color, the fact that the product shape is so blunt means that I have to look in a mirror when applying it, which is kind of not what I wanted in a sheer pink lip balm. I do really like the color, it's a nice bright soft pink that really brightens up my whole face, and I've been needing that lately in this gray gloomy Seattle weather. Also, it smells and tastes amazing. So yeah, I would repurchase it, but I would probably kick myself for it too. :)

Mascara -BeneFit Cosmetics - They're Real

This product kinda blows. I mean, I really thought it would be great based on what everyone says, but no matter how I apply it it makes my eyelashes stick together like none other! I have fairly long, thick lashes to start with and it makes them look worse than before I put on the mascara. I got it as a sample size, and I do like the brush, but I really dislike the formula. Oh, and when I went to take it off the other night, some of my eyelashes came off! They were just so brittle from the formula... just that alone makes me want to never buy this product.

Moisturizers -BeneFit Cosmetics - b right triple performing facial emulsion

I think I have found my holy grail moisturizer! I've been using this product for about a month now, and I love how my skin feels with it on. It feels light and refreshing, great for my oily/combination skin. I put it on after I wash my face, and anytime after I shower, too, and it keeps my skin from drying out and also helps prevent my forehead from getting that oily sheen. I've been using Benefit skincare products for about 6 months now, and I haven't found one yet that I don't like. I also use the facial scrub, which I believe may have been discontinued (?), and the toning lotion, which is lovely and refreshing. My favorite parts about the Benefit skincare line, besides how well the products work, is the smell! All their products smell great, I can't even describe it, it's just a really gentle and refreshing smell, it smells pretty somehow :) The other thing I love is the packaging, it's so cute. This moisturizer comes in a glass bottle with a pump. I usually use about 2 pumps per application--it comes out in a small, manageable amount so I never have to waste any lotion! The only downside is yes, the price is pretty steep for an unemployed college girl. However, if you can afford it, it's definitely worth it to splurge! And it seems like the product will last me quite a while, too.

Lip Gloss -L'Oreal - Colour Riche Le Gloss

I have this in #281 The Queen's Shine, and I have to say I was disappointed at first by the color on my lips. In the tube it looks like it will be a dark mauve, and on the lips it is a fairly fuscia-y pink. However, I've decided that I really like the color anyway. The lip gloss tastes nice, smells nice, doesn't feel sticky or nasty on the lips, and all in all is a pretty darn good lip gloss. Nothing strange about it.

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express The Falsies

This mascara doesn't layer well, but layering it is the only way you can possibly get the "false lash" effect that it claims to give. It ends up looking clumpy and feeling very heavy. Definitely prefer the Covergirl Lashblast or the Maybelline Colossal Volume mascaras.
