Liquid -NARS - Sheer Glow Foundation
em1282 5/17/2013 1:29:00 AM
I know this is usually a love/hate product, but I gotta add my review to the 'love' pile. Bought this a few months ago in Barcelona and it's become my go-to when I want to look a bit more polished but not overdone (date night, important day at work, etc). It's not super glowy, but I do have combination skin, which helps make it look more dewy, if that makes sense. Also I have relatively good skin with a few post-acne marks and freckles, and I find that about two thin layers of this stippled in on moisturized skin lasts me about 6-8 hours, if I wear it with a bit of setting powder on top. I have had no skin breakouts/issues relating to this product, which is a small miracle because I have had some bad reactions to products in the past. I had to knock down a few points for the price (it's pricey, buuuuut given that I don't use it every day, I can somehow justify the price...in my head at least) and the packaging (can't believe I actually bought a freaking pump for the foundation, but I do feel like one pump adequately covers my whole face and dispenses just enough product...if the pump gave too much product, I would have returned it). Definitely try a sample first to make sure you're completely sold on it. And because I'm shallow I always like the NARS product names, and the fact that I'm part Spanish makes me like it more. Sigh...

Misc Beauty Tools -LUSH - LUSH - Whole Store
em1282 9/5/2011 9:36:00 PM
Y'all know the salespeople are so pushy because half the store is about to expire in the next week, right? :) That being said, never a huge fan of their products. I like the idea behind the whole minimal packaging thing, but I think most of their products can be a little pricey. I also tend to walk out of the stores with a sinus headache from being assaulted nasally with patchouli and whatever else makes up that scent conglomeration every time you walk in (or walk past). I do like one of their dusting powders, but not enough to buy it consistently.

Conditioner -Organix - Moroccan Argan Oil Renewing Treatment
em1282 7/22/2011 11:51:00 PM
Love this - I use it after a clarifying shampoo so my hair (which is normal to oily most days) isn't too oily to begin with. I also don't use very much of it (and I have long hair - a bit past my shoulders) and I try not to concentrate a lot of the amount on my scalp. It makes my hair soft and shiny and brings out the natural wave. Definitely would buy again even though I'm not a fan of the packaging.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Bloggers Obsession Jealousy Wakes
em1282 7/19/2011 12:33:00 AM
I don't know what 'sheer' product y'all got from MAC, but I got a veluxe pearl shadow in a complex teal-ish emerald-y green that is gorgeous with golds and browns. Christine at Temptalia hit it out of the park here and I don't think it's close to any of MAC's other permanent shades. Gorgeous and I'm glad I got two.

Loose Powders -MAC - Magically Cool Liquid Powder in Honey Rose
em1282 7/19/2011 12:27:00 AM
Love this in Honey Rose - I need another highlighter like I need a hole in the head, but I couldn't resist since it IS 'magically cool' and feels like a spray of water when it hits your skin like the old Prescriptives Magic powder did, too. I'm olive skinned (and am really dark right now) but Honey Rose is a perfect pinky glowy powder. It can get a little glittery so I apply it with a 188 or 187, and I just poked some holes in the top of the container and shake a bit of it out onto the lid and apply from there. Gorgeous.

Fragrances -Givenchy - Ange ou Demon Le Secret
em1282 7/19/2011 12:24:00 AM
I usually don't care about what men say about my perfume - I like what I like - but my bf absolutely loves this and that makes me like it even more. Like so many people have said, it doesn't last very long (at least, not on me...I put on at least 8 - 10 sprays to get it to last and, because of the bf, now I carry a little rollerball full of it around with me too), but it is beautiful. It is subtle and not too sweet and just a little tarty and musky all at the same time. I'm not a huge fan of florals, but this is an exception.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Unflappable Mega Metal Collection
em1282 4/14/2011 8:09:00 PM
Glad I tracked this one down - I love it. It shows up as a smokey dark gray/purple on me, and even though I thought it would be too cool for me, it isn't. I also wear it with Prance and that helps bring out the metallic quality. Wish they'd make these permanent.

Lip Treatments -Nivea - A Kiss of Flavor Cherry
em1282 3/19/2011 6:20:00 PM
I keep this in my bag at all times - I love it that much. I agree with most reviewers who say this isn't super moisturizing, but I use a lot of other heavy lip treatments that keep my lips moisturized anyway, so this is fine for me. It gives a gorgeous reddish tint that looks like you either just ate a cherry popsicle or bit your lips. Perfect for those days when you don't want to bother picking out a lipstick, or when you want to go out of the house and need a little color on your face. It also lasts through a workout (I don't like to wear makeup to the gym, but if you are one of those types who likes to, this is perfect), which is pretty impressive for me.

Lip Liners -Burberry - Lip Definer - No. 3 Sepia
em1282 3/19/2011 6:13:00 PM
Got turned onto this from my favorite makeup artist - it is $$, but it is a beautiful pinky-nude lipliner that works under pretty much anything. I like throwing it on under harder to wear nude colors (I like nude lips but it's hard to find a good nude for my skintone for some reason) and I also just like throwing it on underneath a clear gloss. This is a true MLBB product and I love it. I particularly like it underneath Lust lipglass by MAC and the Lady Gaga 2 lipstick (without this liner, that lipstick looks like concealer on me...). I will buy this again just because it is so versatile. It also comes with a sharpener, and even the box it comes in is gorgeous. I don't want to throw it out. :)

Eye Shadow -MAC - Centre Stage Peacocky 2011 Collection
em1282 3/19/2011 5:50:00 PM
This pulled a bit cooler on me (I'm olive skinned) than I had hoped. It is still a gorgeous color, but I was hoping for a more golden-ish brown. I know this is compared to Chocolate Brown pigment, but I think CB is a tad bit warmer (and I prefer it to this). It's still really pretty though and I don't regret buying it. Beautiful texture.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Tweet me Peacocky 2011 collection
em1282 3/19/2011 5:48:00 PM
Love this - yeah, it is pricey, but I wear this sort of color all the time, so I don't really care since I've been wearing it so often. The texture is great and it looks beautiful over Rubenesque paint pot. Looks great as a wash all over with a darker color in the crease. Thinking I might get a backup, but the size of this is like a regular MAC eyeshadow on steroids, so I don't know how long it's going to take me to run out of it, even with almost-daily use.

Concealers -MAC - Pro Longwear concealer
em1282 3/19/2011 5:46:00 PM
I love this concealer - in MAC I am an NC35 and I bought this in NW25 (trick I learned from makeupandbeautyblog.com). It is creamy but not *too* creamy, and it does a really good job of hiding my undereye circles. I apply it with a brush (hate the fact that the pump dispenser is hard to work with, so that's why I gave the packaging a lower rating) and after I apply it with a regular concealer brush, I swirl it with the MAC 188 (another trick I learned, from gossmakeupartist) to blend it out. I set it with a tiny bit of the MAC prep + prime powder and it lasts all day. No creasing or fading whatsoever. Just wish they would change the pump, because it is a pain when I get too much and have to smear it into a sample jar or something to make sure I don't waste it.

Highlighters -MAC - strobe liquid
em1282 2/5/2011 10:53:00 PM
I like this a lot to add a bit of a sheen to my MAC ProLongwear foundation (my new favorite). I just mix in a drop (literally...this bottle is going to last me forever) with every pump of foundation and it gives me a pretty subtle glow. Hasn't broken me out so far, knock on wood, but my skin tends to be pretty tolerable of most MAC foundations/skin products.

Primer/ Corrector -Yves Saint Laurent - Touche Eclat (Radiant Touch)
em1282 1/21/2011 10:16:00 AM
Might be too early for me to tell if I'd buy this again, but so far I really like it. Bought it on the recommendation of my favorite makeup artist (who works for MAC) and it's great. I wouldn't say it's not a concealer - yeah, it is more of a highligter, but for people who don't have really dark circles it could be considered a concealer since it does have a tint to it, depending on which shade you get. I apply it under my eyes and a bit under my brow bone and it makes everything lighter. Also the best video I've ever seen with a tutorial that shows how to use this is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sFhH9Fn9dOg On him you can see the difference. He does state that he uses a bit more product in the video so it shows up on camera.
