Masks -Queen Helene - Mint Julep Masque

I read about this in InStyle and had high hopes for the masque but was disappointed. The masque was less than okay – it smelled pleasant, the tube was huge and it was cheap. My face felt clean and fresh, however it did not dry up my breakouts the way I had hoped. It was more of a fun treatment than an effective one. I switched to Murad Claryfing Masque and have not looked back.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Frownies

A co-worker and I were discussing our age and she stated the only thing that aged my face were the dreaded ‘11s” sitting between my eyes. The horror! I had not even considered them noticeable none the less a problem. Needless to say I began trying a variety of products and stopped short of Botox injections. I read many positive reviews about Frownies but figured that technology had improved over the past 120 years and wanted an improved, high tech solution to my lines. I was sooooo wrong, little did I know that craft paper was the cure I was searching for. The Frownies made an instant improvement to the lines and over a couple of weeks made the lines disappear. There was such an improvement that the same co-worker asked me if I had work done! Unfortunately if I skip a few days the lines begin to come back. Also a piece of paper stuck to my forehead is not the most attractive look – but it works. For $15 they are worth every penny. I will be buried with a box of Frownies and look great in the afterlife!

Eye Makeup Remover -Neutrogena - Oil Free eye makeup remover
rated 2 of 5

I bought this bottle based on a review from InStyle magazine and was disappointed. The bottle is big and cumbersome and is very hard to travel with. It goes on smooth, does not irritate my eyes, but it also does not take off all of the makeup. If I use a waterproof mascara it takes 4-5 applications to remove the mascara. It is also much oiler than I like. For these two reasons I am now looking for a new remover to try.

Treatments -Mario Badescu - Drying Lotion
rated 5 of 5

I buy this product time and time again, and for good reason – it works! I buy the travel bottle because it is plastic and travels well. The bottle has a thick pink substance similar to calamine lotion topped by a yellowish liquid. The product smells horrible but goes on easily and works well. I put this on a pimple at night and 99% of the time it is gone in the morning. This product is a godsend.

Treatments (Eye) -Unlisted Brand - hylexin

My circles were very dark and pronounced. I thought that nothing would get rid of them, I inherited them from my Dad. I had seen the “before and after” pictures in the ads and was unimpressed by the obvious photo doctoring, but tried it as a last ditch effort. Much to my surprise it worked! The tube is small and can be carried anywhere and dispenses the crème easily. As the packaging states there is a “warming” effect (not stinging or painful) and I can feel it working. In the first few hours the dark circles were replaced with slight yellow circles. Over a couple of weeks the yellow circles disappeared. Most days I do not use concealer under my eyes because my coloring is so natural. A tube lasts for about 5 months and is worth every penny. This is one of my favorites!

Cleansers -DDF - Glycolic Exfoliating Wash 5%
rated 5 of 5

I love this cleanser! I stumbled on this product by accident. I used the DDF Salicylic Wash and mistakenly grabbed the Glycolic Wash. I noticed a difference in my skin and the wash was the ONLY change in my routine/diet/etc. The packaging is perfect – strong box, durable plastic bottle with cap. The cap is great and perfect for travel. (Without securing the top the liquid will leak out in travel-learned it the hard way) The wash lathers nicely and a little goes a long way. I use it as a body wash and I notice the difference in the overall appearance of my skin. At $32 the price is middle of the road, but considering one bottle lasts me 4-5 months, it is well worth the cost. I will use this product for the foreseeable future and could not imagine my routine without it!

Treatments -Kerastase - Forcintense Dosage Vita Ciment

THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE RECENTLY REVISED TREATMENTS. I LOVE these treatments! I had a bad experience with Frederic Fekkai’s Protein Rx PM Repair Strengthener which left my hair dry, brittle and breaking. My stylist recommend that I try these treatments. The package includes 6 tubes (each the size of a hot oil treatment tube), which translates into 3 treatments. The application is in 2 steps. After shampooing hair apply tube one and leave on for 3-4 minutes. Rise out, apply tube 2, wait another 3-4 minutes and rise. My hair has never been better. The effect is immediate – stronger, healthier, softer hair! In my opinion the cost is well worth it - $36 for the box of 3 treatments. It is almost as effective as a salon treatment at a fraction of the cost.

I was so excited to try this treatment and was terribly disappointed in its performance. I have dry, long, curly hair and had high hopes for the treatment. The packaging is great: sturdy box, compact and durable bottle, yet the product was terrible. The conditioner is dispensed by a pump and the amount dispensed is less than a dime. Since I have long hair it took about 15 pumps to cover my hair. As recommended I tried this product 3 times over a week long period and it killed my hair. My hair was terribly dry and brittle by the end of the week. The breakage was awful and will take months to grow out. It was so bad that I went to my stylist seeking a Kerastase In-Salon Treatment. Please save your $65 and try something else. This was so bad that I tossed it - I could not in good conscience swap this product. Yup, it was that bad!
