Moisturizers -Vichy - Normaderm Anti-Imperfection Hydrating Care

I was SO disapointed in this product! I bought two bottles from the L'Oreal Warehouse sale, so it was 6 bucks a bottle. I started using it since i'd notice some more blackheads and clogged pores in my skin. I also noticed that it was not very moisturizing at all, so i only used it in the daytime, underneath my daily sunscreen. After a week or so I started getting pimples. I figured it was just my time of the month. Continued using it, and after a month I had horrible cystic acne all over my cheeks. I didn't tie it to this product until I went on vacation for a week and a half, and didnt' take it with me, and the acne started to calm down! So I cut the product out of my routine, and POOF acne gone. now I have terrible scars on my cheeks that i need to cover up with makeup. So yes, a product meant to TREAT acne GAVE me acne. THANKS VICHY. i wish there was a DEAR GOD NO NEVER NO option to the "would you buy again" question. but I have two bottles of this stuff for anyone who wants it!
Powder -Cargo - Cargo Blu-Ray High Definition Powder Makeup

Not a fan of this product. when i bought it originally i thought it made me look nice, gave a semi airbrushed look. big problem : in photographs i look SO PALE. my face adn body are two different colours. ladies who are darker/olive toned should AVOID or they should make more colours. also the packaging broke in my makeup bag, no funs.
fantastic dark dark dark red, very vampy. has a brown base rather than blue. looks great against my olive skin. get tons of compliments on it as well. wears well, few chips. I use this in conjunction with seche vite, like all my polishes.
Mascara -Yves Saint Laurent - Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils

This product is ridiculously expensive, so i only buy it whenever i'm in a european airport, and I can buy the 2 pack they sell in duty free. I save this mascara for my nights out (i use volume exact by CG for daytime). People always ask me if i'm wearing fake lashes when i wear this mascara. The smell doesn't bother me, I find it wears off after a couple of moments. Its a splurge, but its worth it!
This has quickly become my favourite nail polish. I love black nail polish, but the red glitter gives it a fun little kick. Its not glittery per say, but you just see the red through the black. doesn't chip too quickly, and two coats is just right. nearly half price with a sallys card too!
I used to HATE doing manis and pedis at home. I would have to wait ages to walk around or do things with my hands. I have serious ADD so i could never sit still enough for my polish to be perfectly dry. I'd prettymuch given up on pedis all together. then i found seche vite! no word of a lie, your mani/pedi is dry and ready to go in under 5 mins! its probably smudge proof and perfect in less than 10 mins. works great with any polish. i always stock up when its on promo at sallys, and even when its not, its nearly half price with my sally card. love it!
Lipstick -Clinique - Different Lipstick - Guava Stain

This was probably one of the first lipsticks i ever owned. My mom would always buy makeup when GWPs were on and this was part of one, so she gave it to me. Its was the perfect MLBB colour for me (NC35 for reference). It has a creamy glossy finish and not drying at all. i had this tube for ages until i had to toss it, it had been too long. Loved it and totally recommend it!
This is actually for the whipped chocolate foam, not the spray. This is the first self tanner i've bought in a long time, after bad experiences with coppertone and neutrogena. Was actually going to buy savage bronze, but this one was on sale. I put it on right after showering and exfoliating. Smells nice, just faintly of chocolate and cocoa butter. gives a nice bronzy glow, but i needed two applications to see a difference. I just did my 3rd in two days, so we'll see if my opinion changes. no streaks, no orange, no stink. A+ for me!
I bought two tubes of this stuff because it had bonus shoppers optimum points at SDM. I'm not in love with it, but i do like it and get lots of compliments. The brush is not clumpproof, i still have to blot it on a tissue before applying to be clumpfree. As previous reviewers have said, you need 2-3 coats to get some read volume, but the formula is buildable so that's ok. i find it actually gives my lashes a little bit of curl, something i haven't seen since i ran out of my YSL mascara. I've actually been asked if i was wearing false lashes while wearing volume exact, so that's the true test to me. Not HG material, but for less than 7 bucks canadian, it'll do!
Styling Products -Revlon - Red Stylix Tourmaline Dryer
egyptianprincess 5/21/2007 4:16:00 PM
This review is for the Red Stylix Tourmaline Dryer. It is AWFUL. took forever to dry my hair (and i have fine, thin hair), was noisy and the concentrator attachment is vented so hot hair blows everywhere and is barely concentrated at all. Did not come with a diffuser, which sucks because it costs as much as dryers that do. I couldn't find the amazing revlon tourmaline that everyone seems to be raving about and bought this one thinking it would be just as good. WRONG! do not buy this dryer. I picked up a conair tourmaline ceramic instead and like it much better.
Crème -Rimmel - cool matte mousse foundation [DISCONTINUED]
egyptianprincess 5/21/2007 4:07:00 PM
The name of this product is pretty close to the true. It is cooling, it is a mousse, and its pretty mattifying. That being said, its not a very good foundation. It looks very obvious on unless you spend a significant amount of time blending. it seems to "fall" into pores, making them more obvious, unless you really cake it on top of them. it also has a really weird smell, meant to be fresh I guess, but I don't like it. it also does NOT last 16 hours, it barely lasts 6 on me, and it's totally not transfer proof at all. Applies better with a foundation brush than with your fingers or a sponge. There are better products out there for oily skin. I would recommend a mineral powder foundation before this stuff, and your face will thank you for it.
Powder -Physicians Formula - Mineral Wear Talc-Free Mineral Loose Powder
egyptianprincess 5/21/2007 4:03:00 PM
I bought this product in a gift set with a bronzer and eyeshadow duo. I originally would just brush this on over my concealer to set it and absorb any early morning oilies after i moisturized. Used that way, I never noticed any real coverage and subsequently stopped using it all together. i also found it to be a little light for my nc35 skin (bought in Medium). Then one day i was in sephora asking about BE foundation, and the SA showed me how to apply it by buffing it onto my skin, and recommended I add a little of the bronzer to the powder to make it match better. When i went home that night I took my old PF mineral powder, mixed some of the bronzer into it and used a small blush brush to buff it into my skin. The difference was astounding! The coverage was great but still natural looking , the colour finally matched and even gave me a bit of a tan and the wearing power was great! The brush that comes with this stuff is garbage, dont' bother with it, but it is a great product for a great price! i had to mix a lot of the bronzer with it to get the right skin tone, and will probably just buy the bronzer shade for summer anyway. But i definitely recommend it!
I'm on my second tube of this stuff, and I really like it! the tube lasts about 6 months for me of every day use, which is amazing considering i not only use it under my eyes, but sometimes mixed with moisturizer for all over my face. I'm an nc35 (maybe a little darker) and use Forget it in 20 on my inherited, Mediterranean cursed dark circles. Great match, you can't tell that i'm wearing concealer at all! Usually i just wear a little of this under my eyes, set with a little powder all over and i'm good to go! can crease a little if you don't set with powder, or if you use too much. i find i have to let it dry a little under my eyes before blending, especially if i've applied a little too much, but that's not a big deal. it also doesn't last the entire day. By the end of an 8 hour work day i start to look a little tired again, and it definitely rubs off if you touch your eyes. i'm trying Lancome's effacernes next, since it claims to be budgeproof, so we'll see! but Gold star for this stuff.
My mother bought this shampoo when she coloured her hair, so i've been using hers. at first, it was great. i had lots of volume and bounce to my hair, it was shiny and didn't get greasy as fast as with other shampoos. but after maybe 2 months or so, i've found it to be very drying. i have fine/thin curly/wavy colour treated hair.
I love this stuff! I wear the NC400 colour, and it works great on me. The shimmer doesn't really show. I don't wear this product straight, I mixed it with a pump or two of the Biore Shine control moisturizer during the day, and usually mix more Hypereal and less moisturizer when going out at night. It blends away my uneven skin tone and leaves my skin matte, but still glowing, i guess due to the shimmer. I just love this stuff!!! i think it would be too heavy to wear without mixing with moisturizer, but with the moisturizer it's perfect! Try it out.
