I purchased this from a market for £2 (fully sealed). I'm glad I only paid that because it's really not worth the RRP of £8.99! Firstly, the brush is a pain in the backside. If you use the part which gives you volume then you are most likely to stab yourself in the eye with the comb part. It also carries too much product so you have to scrape the brush which is quite wasteful or you end up with half a tube of mascara on your eyelashes. Attractive huh?  Secondly, the formula is quite dry & leaves my eyelashes feeling a bit crispy.  Then we have the flakes, bloodshot eyes due to flakes of mascara is never a good look.  Don't buy it, it's a waste of money web at £2!

Foundations -Maybelline - Dream Creamy Foundation
rated 3 of 5

I love Maybelline for it's mascaras but I just don't get on with the foundations. Dream matte mousse broke me out & dried my skin out, Dream Satin broke me out and this, well it broke me out too. That said, the shade was perfect for me (Nude). It has a lovely texture and glides on wonderfully. It gives a nice finish, not matte but not overly dewy. The lasting power is quite good and it didn't slide off my face. After taking my make up off, my skin doesn't feel dry but I have broken out in stupid spots :( You don't get a lot of product and the sponge is more or less useless (would waste a lot of product with it). If Dream foundations have broke you out then I wouldn't bother with this. Otherwise, it is a pretty good product!

May I just say, I didn't have much hopes for this. I really didn't see how it could beat the Collossal! Well, it has! Firstly, the brush itself is quite fat but perfectly curved for your lashes. Secondly, one coat and my eyelashes looked amazing. I'm usually applying about three coats of the Collossal! I have sparse and rubbish lashes but this makes them look amazing. Definately the best mascara of 2009. NOTHING can beat it!

Mascara -Rimmel - Volume Flash The Max
rated 5 of 5
effiexx 1/14/2010 5:11:00 PM

I'd reccommend this mascara to anyone. Having spent a fortune on mascaras including Bad Gal, Lancome Hypnose and Exceptionnel De Chanel and feeling let down, I decided to spend £4.30 (morrisons!) on this mascara. Oh how very glad I am that I did. The packaging may be a bit bright and garish for some but I don't mind it. I think it's quite cute! It separates, lengthens and volumises! It makes me sparse lashes look wonderful and full! It doesn't flake & doesn't clump. One issue I have with this is how much product is on the brush, the tube could be a bit narrower perhaps, like Maybellines Collossal. To those who have trouble with it holding a curl, coat both sides of your lashes and let it dry then curl it again. This keeps my curl when I do this. Also, my wonderful johnsons make up wipes remove this mascara without an issue. Top mascara and shall definitely purchase this again!

Mascara -Lancome - Hypnose

I bought this rather reluctantly. I kept hearing things about how good it was but I couldn't see it matching Maxfactor False Lash. Well, it does pretty well. I'd say it's better in some ways. After one coat you could see the difference, I have short & sparse lashes & I was amazed. I think the brush could be better though, it does keep a lot of mascara on it so you can gloop it on if you don't wipe it. I would like to see how it'd be with a brush like the MF false lash... It lengthens & volumises. I love love love AND it doesn't flake but comes off very easily. EDIT: I really do think this is too expensive having just discovered Rimmels Volume Flash Max!! So have knocked off a lippie.

Blush -Elizabeth Arden - Cheekcolor Sugar Plum

I got this in a deluxe compact I got with a GWP. There's just a little less in the compact than if I was to purchase it. Firstly, the colour is great. It's a browny pink which I thought would never suit my pale yellow toned skin. I was wrong, it gives a great flush of colour to my cheeks as well as giving my face some shape! Also, it lasts all day & only a little is needed. I love it :D

Mascara -Bourjois - Volume Clubbing
rated 4 of 5

I love the packaging, I don't know why. It's funky :D I love this mascara, it has got a 4 because nothing can beat my beloved Maxfactor False Lash Effect, however this comes close. Yes it is hard to remove but I use a good remover so that's sorted. I have short sparse lashes and whilst this doesn't wow them out like MFs False Lash Effect, it gives them a good volume & length boost which is better when I want to wear lipstick, not so in your face.

Liquid -BeneFit Cosmetics - Non-Fiction [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
effiexx 4/12/2009 12:59:00 PM

I picked up this foundation in shade 2, which looks like it'd be too pale when I see it in the bottle, then when it comes out, it looks too orange but as I put it in & blend it, it matches very well. I have pale but yellowish skin which is on the dry side with an allergy to mineral make up, so find it hard to find a good match. This matches fine & gives a light coverage which is buildable. It hasn't broke me out, dried my skin or gone flaky & orange. I lasts all day too. I have dry skin rather than oily so it may be more suited to drier skin. I like the dewy effect it gives too. The only gripe is the bottle, it's not the easiest to get stuff out of it & I can imagine it will be awkward when I start running out of it, for this I've knocked off a lippie :)

Moisturizers -Clarins - Hydra Quench Cream
rated 4 of 5
effiexx 4/12/2009 8:41:00 AM

I've got sensitive & awkward skin so after trying cheaper moisturizers which didn't agree with my skin, I decided to go for this. I'd had a sample & it was fine with my skin so I decided to go with it. I'e used this since about December, I always go off it then come back to it. It leaves my skin feeling lovely, supple & soft. It sinks in straight away & gives a nice base for make up. I also love the smell as well as the suave packaging :D The packaging is quite heavy so not ideal to take around with you. The only problem I have with this cream is if I use it over & over, I get spots. However, I do not feel this is the cream :) I have sensitive skin & find with most products (less natural ones) that if I continuously use them my skin breaks out. My skin much more prefers natural products. I still use it though, I just don't use it all the time. I would reccommend this to anyone with drier skin as it does hydrate & sort any dry patches out :D

Blush -Bourjois - Rose Ambre - 74
rated 5 of 5
effiexx 4/12/2009 7:31:00 AM

This is my first Bourjois blush! Having read all the brilliant reviews in mags, I decided to go for it. I've got pale yellowish skin with reddish brown hair & tend to go for deep pink shades due to having rosy red cheeks. I use blush to even them out as one is barely there whereas the other is in your face! I didn't expect this blush to have the high pigment it did, for the money you pay, you really are getting a brilliant product. Because of the high pigment you only need to use a little which means this will last ages :D And as someone has said, this will give you the english rose glow but don't use alot! The brush is okay on the go, I tend to use my big puffy brush. I think if you're a blusher wearer you need to have a big puffy blush brush rather than depending on the ones you get with the product. The brush itself is useful for using with a highlighter though :) The blush lasts, colours well & is easy to blend :D The packaging is fine, not very flimsy & isn't likely to come open in your bag. You have to press and pull to get it open. I will definately purchase bourjois blushers again :D

Mascara -Bourjois - Effet Liner Mascara
rated 5 of 5
effiexx 4/12/2009 7:22:00 AM

I've been wanting a subtle blue mascara for a while and it was a toss up between this & Benefits blue badgal. I went for this as it's cheaper & I've always been a fan of Bourjois mascara & products in general :D I'm so glad I did! The blue is very subtle but is noticeable enough. It looks great with blue eyeliner too. The brush is superb, it separates & lengthens lashes amazingly. I have short sparse lashes & was very impressed with the results, it even earned me a compliment off a lady in a shop :D It does give the liner effect but so do all mascaras if used in the right way. It didn't flake off in the day at all. It was quite hard to get off at the end of the day but I don't mind that. Would defo buy this again :D

Lotions/ Creams -Palmers - Palmers Olive Butter Formula
rated 4 of 5
effiexx 4/7/2009 3:01:00 PM

I've had some self tanning disasters recently & my friend reccommened using Palmers Cocoa butter. However, I stumbled upon this which was quite a cheap price & I liked the green packaging :D I actually love the smell, it reminds me of Zoflora which is my childhood scent. I love how moisturising it is & how quickly it is absorbed. Will definately be buying this again. Though, the whole organic thing is a bit of a con with the only organic ingredient being the olive oil. Knocked a lippy off for this.

Self Tanners -Garnier - Bodysummer
rated 5 of 5
effiexx 4/7/2009 2:57:00 PM

I've had many fake tan diasters & have often been the laughing stock of my friends & work colleagues due to this. I purchased this in the deep sunkissed formula despite being quite fair skinned. I never looked & just grabbed it. Thankfully, this stuff isn't orange & tans lovely despite being the wrong colour match! I mixed it with some palmers olive butter & applied it, the next day I had a light but lovely glow. I then applied it again with the olive butter. I now look like I've got a lovely but natural tan :D No streaks at all even though I'm awful at applying the stuff! Smell, I actually love it :D but the bottles lid doesn't seem very tough! Have been keeping this one up nice & safe. Will definately be purchasing this again :)

Shampoo -Burt's Bees - Rosemary Mint Shampoo Bar
rated 1 of 5
effiexx 4/7/2009 1:50:00 PM

Yuk, yuk, yuk. I used this the other night. It lathered okay (I use Organic shampoos so realise the lathering isn't good with these sort of shampoos) but as I started to rinse it out, I realised how dry & straw like my hair felt. It felt horrible, so I just rinsed & rinsed to try & save it. When I got out, I dried my hair & was horrified to find my normally straight & carefree hair (other than the oiliness!) was matted & coated in horrid gunk which made my hair feel vile. I thankfully only got it in a sample pack. Therefore I didn't like the paper packaging it came in, not suitable to putting it back in it. I've washed my hair since & it still has the gunky feel :( Grrr! Will try it again when I've got nothing better to do & may update!

Eye Makeup Remover -Johnson & Johnson - 3in1 Eye Make-up Remover Lotion
rated 5 of 5
effiexx 4/5/2009 4:18:00 PM

If you're looking for an eye make up remover under £3 that will remover waterproof make up pretty well then this is it :) I used Clinique Take The Day Off eye make up remover before this (got two free promo bottles) & whilst this is amazing it's twice the price. It is better but it's not THAT much better. Save your money & go for the Johnsons eye make up remover :)
