I received a sample with my latest order of Jane Iredale mineral base. I'm glad they sent it because now I know it's not for me. I prefer a very matte look to my makeup and this made me very shiny. I looked in the mirror at work around 11:00 and talk about a shine-fest! Did not work for me.
Styling Products -Unlisted Brand - Miss Jessie's Pillow Soft Curls
eeb01 1/21/2013 1:36:00 PM
I have long Caucasian curly hair that frizzes plus I live in a humid climate. I've used this stuff twice and I really like the results. I've only recently embraced my curls after years of damaging straightening. I haven't straightened in 6 months and I've been on a constant quest for curly styling products that work for me. I tried a few from Jessicurl but didn't like them enough to repurchase. I tried a few Carol's Daughter products, and her hair milk works well for me but her products are so heavy on fragrance that it triggered migraines in me more than once so I have half a bottle I prob won't ever use. My fav so far has been Moroccan Oil curling cream, until now that I've tried Pillow Soft. I got 2 big samples of it for free from the Miss Jessie website. They don't even require a purchase. How cool is that? I apply the Pillow Soft to soaking wet hair and work it in scalp to ends carefully. I have a diffuser but usually just let it dry naturally. I love the results once it's dry. Curls are defined and no frizz. And oddly enough, the smell doesn't bother me. Yes it's strong but no stronger than Moroccan Oil. I've used this twice now and even pre-menstrual it has not triggered a migraine in me. I'm going to use up my second sample, but I'm pretty sure I'll be ordering a full sized bottle.
Self Tanners -Banana Boat - Summer Color Sunless Lotion Deep Dark

Finally a self tanner I like!! I can't believe how satisfied I am with this product. It is so inexpensive, and it works really well for me. I have very fair skin and it looks natural on me. The color is great. I don't notice the usual self tanner smell until it's been on for several hours, so usually I put it on before bed and then take a shower when I wake up to get rid of the smell. I love it! I was planning to buy Mystic Tan's self tanning lotion, but since this works so well for me and is more than $30 cheaper than the MT, I will stick with the Banana Boat!
I never in a million years would have bought Lip Smackers if I had not read such great things about them on here. They look like play make-up for kids. But it's true that they moistuize very well. I love the way they feel on my lips. And the yummy smells are an added bonus. I'm hooked! Oh, and they don't test products on animals. That's important to me.
Great stuff. My heels have a tendency to get dry, cracked, and funky looking easily (even if I keep up with regular pedis) and Vaseline softens them in a day. It's also the only thing that would cure my terrible chapped lips when I was a kid.
I bought this in brown (it's a metallic coppery color with some sparkle) and I love it. Now I want the green, the white, and the black! It's waterproof, so it stays all day on my oily eyelids, even without using a primer. It's easy to apply and looks really good IMO. Definitely want them all!
I've been using this daily under my make-up for weeks, and it has not caused me to break out. I like it very much. I have not burned on my face since using it, so I think it works well. Also, an added bonus seems to be that it really helps control the oil on my face. I was having big issues with an oil slick of a face after recently switching to Dior foundation, but ever since using this under the foundation, I can go all day without blotting with powder. I definitely plan to repurchase this.
This review is for the do-it-yourself MT aerosol spray. First off, I love the MT spray booth. I've done it several times, and it always gives me a nice, even tan with good color. I was excited when I found the MT spray in a can on Sephora. Unfortunately, I did not get the same results. I prepped my skin for a week before using while waiting for it to be delivered, so my skin was moisturized and exfoliated. My upper body turned out well, but my legs and feet look bad. I missed some places so I ended up with white patches, and it ran a little and streaked. I tried "fixing" it the next night with a second coat, but after that, my legs and feet looked very orange and totally silly. I was too embarrassed to expose my legs or my feet until it wore off. I probably can't blame the product completely. If you have a SO or good friend who will help you apply this while you stand still (like the MT booth) then you have better chances of getting good results. I applied it to myself, and I just can't immitate the spray booth well enough to get decent results. I'm considering exchanging it for the MT lotion, but I might just get a total refund and continue my search for a self tanner.
Moisturizers -Desert Essence - Jojoba Oil - 100% pure
eeb01 5/7/2009 12:34:00 PM
This is very good stuff. I used it every night to remove make-up and clean face, then I wash with Eucerin cleanser. This oil removes all traces of make-up and washes clean. Doesn't feel like it's still on there after I use my cleanser. I like it as much as DHC's Deep Cleansing Oil, and it's way cheaper.
Lip Gloss -L'Oreal - HIP Jelly Balm [DISCONTINUED]
eeb01 4/27/2009 10:33:00 AM
I bought Plush and Succulent this weekend and I am loving them both! They aren't sticky feeling, more moisturizing. And the color is perfect. Not overly vibrant and bright, just the right amount of color and shine.
I like this stuff, and next time I'm out I will pick up another tube to replace the Stiletto junk I got suckered into trying b/c of the cute packaging. Glam Eyes added length and fullness, and you can't beat its price. *Just had to add an update. I purchased Lash Stiletto and used for awhile. I missed Glam Eyes so much. Last night I was at CVS and bought another tube of GE. Used this morning, and WOW! Glad I went back to it!
Tinted Moisturizer -Stila - Illuminating Tinted Moisturizer in Shade 1
eeb01 4/23/2009 10:22:00 AM
I received a free delux sample with a Sephora order. I don't have bad skin (no acne, just need color evened out) so I thought this might be able to replace foundation for me. Lots of people are apparently able to use it instead of foundation. It made my skin very shiny, or as Stila says - luniniscent. Whatever you want to call it, I didn't like the look. I didn't think it offered me any coverage either. As far as breakouts, it didn't cause me any. I won't purchase it.
God, how I wish I had read the reviews first and seen that less than 50% of people like this stuff. It did not work for me. I applied last night to clean skin. I am orangy and my legs are streaky today. The worst thing about it is the color it gave me - very orangy. You'd think that in this day and age, companies would have the color thing down. I mean, self tanners have been around forever and several companies know how to get the color right. The other problem is that it streaked on my legs. I moisturize regularly, so I don't think dry skin is the problem. It also dries very quickly. My palms are ever so slightly orange today, and have a dry feeling. Also, this stuff has a bad self tanner smell once it dries. I wish I'd never tried it. I know that Bare Escentuals Faux Tan and Origins (can't remember the self tanner's name) work well for me and give me a tan look, not at all orangy. I should have just stuck to them.
I bought this in Pink and Red. I bought Pink first and liked it so much that a few days later I bought Red. I purchased b/c the package said it would compliment any skin tone, and I always have TERRIBLE luck trying to choose colors for myself. Luckily enough, I love this one! It gives my lips a nice, pink natural look. Definitely adds color, but not too much which is what I like. It's got a nice creamy texture on my lips, but I always add lipgloss or chapstick as a habit. I'd definitely repurchase Pink. And next I'm buying the nude color.
I like this product! I have naturally dry hair, so I like to go a few days in between washings. My hair actually looks better after a day or two of not washing. But, I do worry about my hair "smelling dirty" and looking greasy. This stuff is great. I don't find that I have to use a lot, like some people apparently do. I have a lot of hair, and I use about a quarter sized amount on my hair. It makes it smell fresh and clean and it soaks up the oil. Plus it gives my hair body and fullness.
