Misc Beauty Tools -Unlisted Brand - Facial Hair Removal Spring
edmineralsgirl 6/6/2013 1:43:00 PM
This review is for the Bellabe spring. After much researching between Bellabe, REM, and the cheap $1 knockoffs, I decided to go with Bellabe. Total came out to $14.00 on Amazon. The spring comes in a small plastic tube which is perfect and hygienic for travelling! Of course, I opened it up and put it to use as soon as I got it in the mail. First impression: wow, it actually works! I started on my chin, which for some reason is able to tolerate hair removal pain really well. My chin was left so smooth. Took a look at the spring and I could see tiny little hairs with roots caught in the spring. The lip area is definitely a little more painful. As long as you're patient, this product gets the job done! Just a tip: I've found it's much more effective if you make a wider shaped u and move quickly versus making a tight shaped u as pictured in most how-to's and directions. I've found it doesn't pluck coarse black hair though, so don't throw out your tweezers just yet. Remember to clean with rubbing alcohol after each use to avoid any break outs.

My favorite nail polish for summertime! Such a gorgeous bright blue. Applies smooth, dries kind if slow, but once its dry it is very shiny and pretty.

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Insta-Dri in Lightening

This is the perfect yellow polish I was looking for. So great for spring! It is vibrant! Applies smooth and dries fast. I'm surprised to read that another reviewer said it's thick...I actually found i to be too runny. Nevertheless, it's a keeper.

Lips -Maybelline - Baby Lips - Peppermint
edmineralsgirl 3/31/2013 3:01:00 PM
I had a $2 off coupon for this item, so I figured I'd try it out. I am a lip balm fanatic and have tried almost every drug store lip balm that exists. This time I needed a simple, clear chap stick to stash in my work purse. This particular one caught my eye because it has spf 20, no added colors or shimmer, and a peppermint scent. I like the twist packaging (similar to a lipstick tube). Nothing really sets this chap stick apart from the rest. It applies very smoothly and makes my lips feel so soft and plump and the tingly peppermint feels good on my lips, HOWEVER, this hydration wears off within just 30 minutes. I tested out its lasting power by applying it and avoiding rubbing my lips together, licking my lips or eating/drinking anything. My lips were completely dry within 30 minutes of application (and I do not have excessively dry lips to begin with). I'll finish up the tube, but will pass on buying this one next time.

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Complete Salon Manicure Nail Polish
edmineralsgirl 3/21/2013 4:26:00 PM
I'm reviewing Frutti Petutie. This was my 1st purchase from the Complete Salon Manicure line. I am amazed by how flawlessly this polish goes on. No streaks, no bumps. Goes on very smoothly and has a creamy finish. The bottle is nice and sturdy, brush is flat which allows for better coverage. This particular color looks bright pink in my bottle, but more of a reddish color on my nails. Overall, I must say if every CSM nail color is the same consistency, then I might have found my new favorite nail polish!

Lip Treatments -eos - Lip Balm Sphere - Lemon Drop SPF 15
edmineralsgirl 3/18/2013 2:53:00 PM
This one is my favorite out of all the eos balms. It goes on very thick and waxy. Some may find that to be a con, but I love it because the moisturizing feeling lasts a long time. It doesn't feel slippery like other balms. and it also smells great!

Lip Treatments -eos - LE Strawberry Sorbet & Passionfruit 2-Pack
edmineralsgirl 3/18/2013 2:49:00 PM
I have tried lemon, mint, and summer fruit, and figured I'd give this one a try since the others were running low. Same cute packaging and formula. I'm not a huge fan of the formula - it goes on smooth, but dries too quickly. I repurchase only because these have been the only lip balm I don't lose or accidentally throw into the dryer.

Treatments -DermOrganic - Leave In Treatment with Argan Oil
edmineralsgirl 3/3/2013 4:26:00 PM
It's a nice leave in treatment. I'm not too excited about it because it didn't perform any miracles or drastically change my hair. It does help soften my hair and leave it less frizzy, but still very dry. I picked this up for $14 at TJ Maxx about a year ago and I'm only about 1/2 way through the bottle. I mostly use a few drops before flat ironing my hair. Makes my hair nice and smooth.

Conditioner -TRESemme - Split Remedy Conditioner
edmineralsgirl 3/3/2013 3:30:00 PM
This conditioner was just awful for my hair. I have very long fine hair. Recently it has become dry, frizzy, and I noticed a lot of split ends. I picked up this conditioner in hopes of taming my hair down a bit. It is a really weird glue-y and slimy consistency. I thought maybe that was what made it bond split ends. The conditioner also has has these tiny white specks/beads in it. I thought maybe the slimy consistency and the specks were what bonded split ends. I was wrong. After a week of daily use, my hair become more rough, frizzy, and tangled. The conditioner didn't moisturize my hair one bit. And the white specks do not rinse out properly. If you have dark hair, they will show once dry! I regret spending money on this!

Lip Treatments -eos - Lip Balm Sphere - Summer Fruit
edmineralsgirl 2/21/2013 6:58:00 PM
Your average lip balm in a cute package. The balm itself is pretty moisturizing, although I do find myself reaching for it often. The packaging is the main reason we're all drawn to this balm, let's be honest. As soon as I opened the top, the scent immediately reminded me of the smell cheap lipstick. Drugstore lipstick as a hard to forget smell...and this balm smells exactly like that. An upside to this - if you're like me, you won't have to worry about leaving eos balms in your pants pockets and tossing it in the dryer. Ps. I'd recommend the lemon balm. Out of all the eos balms, I've found lemon to be the most moisturizing.

Lotions/ Creams -Aveeno - Stress Relief Moisturizing Lotion
edmineralsgirl 2/21/2013 1:24:00 PM
Love this scent! I'm not a huge fan of lavender fragrances, so I was iffy on this, but it doesn't smell like lavender at all! Has a very nice floral scent that lingers all day. Makes my hands super soft. The big bottle will last quite a while!

Hair Styling Tools -Remington - Wet 2 Straight
edmineralsgirl 2/20/2013 7:50:00 PM
I have been using my wet2straight for 5 years now! I have never had a hair straightener last that long! It has been consistent since I first used it. I have really long fine hair and the 2" does a perfect job. I usually wash my hair at night and straighten the next morning. On average, it takes about 10 minutes. Be careful if you apply liquid heat protectant - it will steam and burn your hand if it's too close to the heat plates. It leaves my hair soft and shiny. If I overuse it on a section, then it creates flyaway hair. Nothing a little hair creme can't fix. I would NOT recommend using this on wet hair. The only time I do is if I'm short on time and even then I only use it on my bangs. It leaves them so rough and dull looking...I can't imagine using this on my entire wet head. Also, if you forget to unplug it, it will beep every hour or two...sometimes its woken me up in the middle of the night. I guess it's promoting safety! haha overall, I have no complaints - this straightener gets the job done!

Gels/Soaps -The Body Shop - Satsuma Soap
edmineralsgirl 2/20/2013 6:42:00 PM
Picked up four bars on a 4 for $10 sale. This soap is so fragrant that as soon as I opened it, it filled up my entire bathroom with a wonderful smell. The bar lathers up pretty well (I use a loofah). And it smells AMAZING! The smell lingers on my skin for the whole day. The bar is pretty small for the regular price ($4), so keep an eye out for those sales! Definitely a good purchase.

Misc Beauty Tools -The Body Shop - Facial Brush
edmineralsgirl 2/20/2013 6:32:00 PM
I have a love-hate relationship with this brush. I have the one with the smaller handle that fits in your hand. The only thing I can think of comparing this brush to is my suede shoe cleaning brush (very rough). This is not a soft brush! I wish they had a tester available for this at the store. Since it was only $3, I figured I'd give it a shot. I first used my regular scrub using my hands only, then after rinsing, put a dime size drop of a cleanser on the brush and started cleaning in circular motions (very gently). Holy cow - it was so uncomfortable! After I was done, I noticed a lot of makeup came off on the brush. I always thought my scrub did a good enough job, but I guess not! So, this brush is good at removing makeup. After rinsing, my skin felt smoother and softer. The packaging is also convenient and hygienic. I really wish I could incorporate this brush into my everyday skincare routine, but there is no way this brush can qualify as a face brush. If you have active acne or are very prone to breakouts, stay away! The bristles on this brush are way too hard and rough. The only time I can see myself using this is to thoroughly remove heavy makeup, or maybe once a week in the humid summer days to exfoliate.

Toners -Unlisted Brand - Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar
edmineralsgirl 2/15/2013 6:49:00 PM
I have never been more satisfied, amazed, and in love with any of my skin care items the way I am with Bragg's acv. After reading so many positive reviews, I gave in and bought a bottle. I'll admit I was a little hesitant about putting vinegar on my face. I first started using it to mix my aztec clay mask. From then on, I diluted it with water 1:1 to be used as a toner. After using it every night for just 2 weeks, my skin has never been clearer! I didn't even break out during that time of the month this month!! I used to have at least one new break out a day that would linger around for a few days. Now, if I see a new zit popping up, I dab some undiluted acv on it and it immediately stops it in its tracks. I am so glad I found these wonderful reviews on here! My oily and acne-prone skin loves this stuff! I know drinking it is also supposed to help even more...I gave that a shot and let me just say it is very disgusting. Good thing it works so wonderfully topically! :) If you purchase it and it doesn't agree with your skin, you can always use it as a hair rinse for shiny hair or as a makeup brush cleanser! It's definitely worth the money!
