Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Naked Palette

I waited a few weeks to write this review. I wanted to use the palette several times before I voiced my opinion. I purchased this palette from Sephora in early January. My palette is the original offering with the 24/7 duo pencil. I love the design of the palette but the cover attracts powder and ends up looking messy in no time. The shadows are excellent in quality. The powder is smooth, easy to blend, with strong pigmentation. The colors are beautiful. Very nice selection. I thought there would be several that were too dark for me but applied with a light hand they all work with my fair complexion. I prefer matte shadows. The palette offers more of satin & shimmer finishes. I played with all of the shadows and there is only 1 shadow - ~sidecar~ that i'll most likely never use. That shadow is too over the top in the glimmer, shimmer, & glitz for me. Love the eye pencil. I'm delighted that I got to try them. Wonderful product and I will buy more. I can't use the primer in the cooler months because it is too drying on my lids. Works great for me in the summer. To be honest, I wanted to send this palette back. The shadows are excellent quality but the satin & shimmery finish shadows are too much for me. I kept playing around with application techniques and finally found that patting the shadow on instead brushing it on really toned down the glitz. Using that tehnique, this palette became wearable for someone my age. The number 1 reason I kept this palette is this - the colors make my eyes look amazing. It makes them "pop" with color. It's impressive.

This product may be great for a sunscreen but it is very drying on my lips. The product is waxy too. I did not like this product at all.

Lip Treatments -Nivea - A Kiss of Shine - All colors

My first purchase of Nivea was for the kiss of moisture lip care balm and I was not impressed. Walgreen's had a coupon this week for the Nivea Lip Care products @ .99 each with a coupon - limit 3. I purchased the Kiss of Shine Glossy Lip Care in all 3 colors: natural, pink, red. This product is super moisturising without being sticky or too goopy..These are excellent for a base layer to other lip products or just to wear alone. The glossy shine does fade quickly but the moisure effect last a very long time. I prefer the red glossy color. It is very sheer and just gives a very slight color to my lips. I think the regular price for this product is a bit steep. Since Walgreen's had the product a super low price I went back today and bought 3 more.

Blush -Laura Geller - Blush n Brighten Como / Portofino

I'm a middle aged woman with fair skin. I've tried so many blush products looking for the perfect one, the holy grail. I've found a few I've really liked and was more than willing to make a commitment to: NARS Orgasm, Deep Throat, & Luster. MAC Springsheen. But none of those quite gave the 'look' I was after. I wanted something soft & dewey. Fresh looking with some natural color but not obvious. I finally found it. Perfection at last! LG Como is The One. Who knew? I have several of the LG baked products and really like them. Balance & Brighten in Fair, Bronze & Brighten in Fair, are LG Products that I use daily. I never purchased her BnB blush because several reviews claimed they were too sparkly. At my age, sparkly is NOT a good thing. I saw a demo on QVC for Como and decided to take chance. I'm so glad I did. This blush is not sparkly on my skin at all. It looks like a soft glow & dewey. The color is a very soft - an almost salmon colored peach. The product also includes a baked highlighter called portofino. IMO, this product does have a sparkle in it. I can definitely use the highlighter for an evening look but not daytime.

Powder -Laura Geller - Balance-N-Bronze

My review is for the split pan Bronze & Brighten/Balance & Brighten in FAIR. I have very fair skin with pink & yellow undertones. Most Bronzers I've tried look garish/ sometimes muddy/often orange-y on my pale skin. Bronze & Brighten does not. I love the the split pan because it enables the ability to adjust the bronzer with the seasons by mixing the balance & brighten to soften the color. I use the Coastal Scents Italian Badger Angled Blush Brush to apply the bronzer. I sometimes buff it out with the CS Deluxe Buffer Brush that makes the bronzer gently glow like I've been out in the sun. I often use a smaller blush brush to pick out the pink baked color to use as a blush on my cheeks. I don't care for the packaging. I wish it had the rubber coated compact like NARS because if you drop one of these compacts the product shatters very easily. Love this bronzer. It's perfect for my pale skin.

Eye Shadow -Almay - Almay Pure Blend Eyeshadow Color steel

This color is more of a metallic shadow. It does not look like a super metallic shimmer in the packaging but it is. Very, very faint color. Could possibly used for a super shiny highlighter. I returned this to the store the day I purchased it for a refund. Very poor quality. Very poor pigmentation. Super metallic. The shadow does not look like the color in the packaging. Very poor packaging. Very disappointed in the product.

Lip Gloss -Bobbi Brown - Petal gloss

This is the perfect nude pink/peach for my fair complexion. The color is more perky than Bobbi Brown Buff. Makes my lips look very natural. I wear this color solo without a pencil or lipstick.

This color just didn't work with my complexion. On my lips the color is very drab & dull. Buff on my lips looks more brown than pink. Very blah. I love Bobbi Brown Gloss just not this color.

My favorite Lip gloss of Bobbi Brown. The color is wonderful on the lips but looks very bold in the tube. The color is more of a apricot shade with a little spunk. I wear this gloss over darker nude shades (Bobbi Brown - cocoa,putty,brown) lipstick to brighten the lip. Works great over a lip pencil. Bobbi Brown loves to use a brush with her glosses. The brush always gets of out shape so I just soak the tube in a cup of hot water for a minute or two. The brush comes out perfectly shaped.

Eye Shadow -Bobbi Brown - Eye Shadow - Cement

This is my all time favorite Bobbi Brown shadow. The color is classic ~ a soft grey taupe that is simply elegant on the lid. You can dress it up with an eggplant shade for the crease or add to a natural day look with her Grey shadow in the crease. I love this shadow.

This is my HG Brow product. The color matches my hair perfectly. I have very sparse brows but this powder applied with an angled brow brsh looks very natural. I sometimes apply a gel or a wax for a more finished look. I own several Bobbi Brown powder eye shadows and I LOVE them all.

I love NARS blushes. This color is one of my favorites. More of a peachy tone than NARS Orgasm so it looks more natural for my coloring. I use a very light hand when applying. The blush on my skin looks glowy not sparkly.

I bought this on several MUA recommendations that this would be a soft natural looking blush. On my fair complexion it looked rosey ~blue-ish ~violet. Not a great color for me. Certainly not natural. The quality was good but the color was not.
