Lip Treatments -Palladio - Herbal Lip Balm - Berry
rated 5 of 5

I was perusing through Sally's one day and came across these. Emilynoel83 on YT had been raving about them, so I picked up this in #berry. They are lip balms with enough pigment to pass as a sheer lip stick. Everyone has already said it's not a berry colour, I am in agreement! It's more like a warm medium pink; it's very refreshing. The colour definitely shows up on my pigmented lips and leaves behind a slight stain after the emollient balm wears off. The lip balm itself is also very nice (a lot of slip and buttery soft) and has not given me chapped lip issues. I love that there is no offensive scent; in fact, I don't smell anything. The only thing is that similar to a lot of twist ups, the twist down no longer works so the balm gets kind of messy when I open the lid. I would definitely repurchase, and in other shades too.

Bronzers -Physicians Formula - Summer Eclipse Bronzer and Shimmer Powder
rated 4 of 5
e_L_L_e 3/4/2011 2:26:00 PM

i purchased this in "starlight" for medium skintones. this is actually quite a sheer bronzer that would be very suitable to just add some slight warmth to pale skintones. this barely shows up on my nc25 asian skin. this will not give you a really bronzed or contoured look. the centre of the pan is the shimmer powder - it is very subdued shimmer because it is so tightly pressed that it is hard for a brush to grab. the bronzer itself is slightly shimmery (hardly detectable on the skin) with strong golden hues. i personally enjoy a bit of a deeper more pigmented bronzer on the face so i probably wouldn't repurchase. i mainly use it to contour my nose because it's sheer and looks more natural. this is a decent quality product, it really depends on how you like to apply your bronzer.

Makeup Brushes -Ecotools - Bamboo Blush Brush
rated 5 of 5

I've never been disappointed by ecotool brushes (i also own the bronzer and angled eyeliner brushes), they're all well-made, soft, and none have shed a single hair! they're so amazing for the price! i have owned this blush brush for at least a couple of years and it has kept its shape wonderfully; it still looks new.

I've never been disappointed by ecotool brushes (i also own the bronzer and blush brushes), they're all well-made, soft, and none have shed a single hair! they're so amazing for the price! i have owned this eyeliner brush for at least a couple of years and a few hairs have splayed. but that's partially my own doing in not appropriately washing and drying this brush. the bristles are firm, but very soft. i use it for my eyebrows.

Blush -Bobbi Brown - Pink Raspberry Pot Rouge ] [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5

my first BB pot rouge and i'm in love and want more! the formula is just the right consistency - not too creamy, not too hard. i use a duo-fibre "skunk" brush and makes it so easy to blend. the pigmentation is great as well. the finish on the skin is natural - not too dewy. the lasting powder is great, and even better when topped off with a powder blush. as for the shade "pink raspberry", it's a very fresh brighter pink, maybelline color sensation l/s "pink me up" is an exact dupe.

OMG, 100% repurchase! i've never seen this on mua!!! :) this brush is the softest thing evarrrr! i personally use it for loose powder. but it's so versatile and can be used for almost any powder/cream/liquid face products. i've never been disappointed by ecotool brushes (i also own the eyeliner and blush brushes), they're all well-made, soft, and none have shed a single hair! they're so amazing for the price!

Loose Powders -Coty - Airspun face powder
rated 5 of 5
e_L_L_e 3/1/2011 5:37:00 PM

i picked the "translucent" on a trip to the US because this isn't sold in Canada, and what a great find! this does what a loose powder is supposed to do and i have no complaints. it doesn't make you 100% shine-free matte, but just enough to look like natural skin. compared to the laura mercier translucent loose powder, this does an equally great job, though i do think LM is a smidget more finely milled. the scent is very retro, but it doesn't linger on the skin.

Skincare - Face -Avene - Thermal Water
rated 5 of 5
e_L_L_e 3/1/2011 5:28:00 PM

I think this is more than glorified water in a can. I have seen visible improvements in my skin sensitivity and redness within a few months of using this product. the biggest improvement is definitely the broken capillaries around my nose area. I like to spray my face lightly before moisturizing, pat it in with my hands, and smooth on moisturizer while the skin is still damp.

Tinted Moisturizer -Hard Candy - Sheer Envy Tinted Moisturizer spf15
rated 5 of 5
e_L_L_e 3/1/2011 5:23:00 PM

i purchased this in "light", which is the 2nd lightest shade. it works on my nc25 skintone fairly well, maybe just a smidge darker. word of caution that this formula is lighter in the tube than on the skin. it also oxidizes a bit. i picked "light" because "fair" looked very pink in the tube. the formula is very mousse-like and blends very easily on the skin. the coverage is a little bit more than the laura mercier tm; in fact, i would actually call this a light-coverage foundation. i detect the tiniest bit of shimmer in this tm, but overall it dries to a satin finish. i have used this product daily for the past couple of months, and have not had the separating issue noted by previous reviewers. overall, i think this is a great inexpensive drugstore tm that i would continue to purchase.

Highlighters -NARS - The Multiple in Copacabana
rated 5 of 5
e_L_L_e 3/1/2011 5:12:00 PM

this is the most natural looking highlighter i have found for my fair asian skintone (nc25), in that it creates more of a sheen on the skin as opposed to shimmer. this is still shimmer in this product, of course. but if you're looking for shimmer and frost, this product is not for you. the key to using this product is to blend blend blend. i've seen a friend use copacabana without blending and it just looks caked on because it is a cream product. the packaging is portable, though mine broke and doesn't come down automatically.

Blush -E.L.F. - Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder
rated 4 of 5
e_L_L_e 3/1/2011 5:05:00 PM

this is definitely a copycat of nars orgasm/leguna duo. i don't own orgasm or leguna, but have a few other nars powder blushes for comparison purposes. elf's texture is definitely not as smooth and silky as nars. on the skin, i found that elf tends to also look more powdery (especially the blush side). however, elf is still very pigmented (especially the bronzer side). the blush is a pinky-peach with golden chunkier shimmers. the bronzer is a warm brown without any orange undertones; it has shimmer in the pan but not really on the face. i personally enjoy the bronzer more than the blush.

Lipstick -Revlon - Matte Lipstick - Pink About It [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
e_L_L_e 3/1/2011 4:30:00 PM

this formula is so nice! although this is a matte, it is not drying at all and goes on very smoothly on the lips. the colour is a very bright pink that looks almost red. but it's surprisingly wearable on my fair asian skintone and instantly brightens up the face without being too loud.

Eye Shadow -Maybelline - ExpertWear Eyeshadow Quad in Chai Latte
rated 5 of 5
e_L_L_e 11/2/2010 4:50:00 PM

this is a fantastic quad. I always take this quad when travelling because it has everything i need for a neutral eye in 1 place. The dark brown also can work as a brow powder for me as well. lid - matte medium taupe - this colour is perfect for a wash of color to liven up my lid space. I'm a fan of using a slightly darker all over lid colour though. because the colour payoff is not super intense, this also works as a blending colour. crease - metallic warm copper - this colour adds such an interesting contrast to an otherwise fairly matte quad. I love to use this shade in the middle of my lid to add some shine. brow bone - sheer shimmery cream - my least favourite color because it really doesn't show up very well except for some shimmers. outer corner - matte dark brown - my favourite color from this quad. it is very pigmented. can be used as a liner.

Eyeliner -Styli-Style - Line&Seal
rated 5 of 5
e_L_L_e 11/2/2010 4:39:00 PM

I have never ever had a product work on the upper waterline for me, except for this one!!!!!! Tightlining has always been a challenge for me because the products never stay, smudges, or transfers to the lower waterline. such a great find!!!! For Canadian gals, these are available at London Drugs, haven't spotted them at shoppers. UPDATE: comparing them to the UD 24/7 liners (I have "zero"), i still like styli style better. it's not as intensely pigmented or as creamy as UD zero, but the staying power is much much better when used to tightline.

Brows -Maybelline - Define-A-Brow
rated 5 of 5
e_L_L_e 11/2/2010 4:35:00 PM

i have the color dark brown, and it suits my asian black very well. i have always used a brow powder (the DC'd one from MAC) to fill in my brows. But this is now my fave product. The tip is extremely fine, so you can be very precise with placement. the formula is slightly waxy, hence it stays on all day for me. I just do short strokes to define my brow, and then use a soft angled brush (from Ecotool) to brush out the color to make it look very natural. I love the product, but really can't appreciate the packaging - I have no use for the tiny comb, and I can't twist down the product.
