Moisturizers -MAC - Oil Control Lotion
dzehnie 6/5/2012 2:08:00 AM
Very big fast waste of my £20. Bought this in february and been using it off and on. When I first started using it, I noticed within the first 2days that I had tiny pus filled bumps on my face especially around my forehead but at that time I was using lush dark angels to wash my face so I thought that was the culprit and stopped using it. There were days I'd use my regular clean and clear dual action moisturizer and notice that the mac oil control lotion really isn't doing anything for my skin. If I was back home, would have thought it was the hot weather not letting the mac OCL do it's job well but I was in the uk and it was still really cold. I came back home and was still using this product off and on. I still didn't notice any difference in the amount of oil on my face or the time with which the oils start coming through. Usually very oily within an hour and with this, I was still oily within an hour. Tried mixing it with my studio fix fluid to make a tm but noticed one day while looking in the mirror that the foundation and lotion had separated on my face! Lool! Wasn't a good look. Started using this product again last week and yea, I've noticed that it's responsible for the tiny bumps on my face. Surprised I even endured with this lotion for so long because I hate hate the scent! Love the pump though and the way it dispenses. Very sanitary. Would I purchase again, NEVER!!! It could work if you have normal skin. But even with prep + prime powder, this was a no no!

Mascara -Sleek - Eye Drama
dzehnie 5/29/2012 3:29:00 AM
I really love this mascara and have bought over and over again. If you can get the waterproof version, I suggest you buy that instead of the regular one or you'd just end up with raccoon eyes. I have to state however that to get the most of this mascara, your lashes have to be somewhat straight and long if not you'd hate yourself for trying it and wasting money. Have I mentioned that this mascara is tricky to use? Applying more than 2 coats would leave you with fat clumpy spider lashes. It really does add drama to the eyes. Curls them, makes them fuller and longer. Plus the black shade is really intense. It takes a bit of getting used to and don't use if in a hurry

Lipstick -Max Factor - Colour Elixir Lipstick
dzehnie 4/30/2012 11:24:00 AM
I have ruby tuesday and pink brandy from this max factor line. Ruby tuesday is my HG red!! It's very blue toned and bright. Not a dark shade of red at all. Wears about 4hrs on me and is quite moisturising but It doesn't replace lipbalm for me. It instantly makes my face brighter and appear fresher. It has a sheen to it too. Not matte at all. Very similar to MAC Red. Now pink brandy...hmmmm. I actually got this colour because for some reason, it appeared corally and I was on the hunt for a coral lipstick at that time. It's pink. Not bright, a muted pink with a hint of brown? It looks somewhat dusky in the tube. This lipstick applies true to colour on my lips and has a slight sheen too. Sometimes I like this shade sometimes I wonder why I bought it. Doesn't look like anything I own though. Wears for about 2hrs before fading. I can't stand the scent of these lipsticks though. Is it chocolate or what? Not foul but too strong for me + it doesn't fade away quickly. I love the packaging of these lipsticks. The gold colour of the tube and the embossed logo makes it look more HE than DS. Would repurchase ruby tuesday again and would check out other shades. Wouldn't repurchase pink brandy though

Blush -Sleek - Blush by 3 in Pumpkin
dzehnie 4/18/2012 3:49:00 AM
I actually got this blush palette because I wanted and orange blush but didn't want to shell out £20.50 for nars taj mahal. While the orange blush in this palette (lantern: a matte medium orange) is in no way a dupe for taj mahal, I'm pretty impressed with my purchase. The pink shade in it is very similar to flamingo. In fact, on my skin, they appear the same way. However, the colour I reach out for is p.pie. It's an orange coral with shimmer but has some pink tones in it. Kinda reminds me of benefit's cha cha tint but with shimmer. I really like the way sleek gave a variety of textures in this palette (shimmer, sheen, matter) and I like the colour selection too. Sleek blushes are pigmented and it's advisable to build up the required intensity in layers especially since their matte blushes tend not to blend easily. I've tried all 3 colours in this palette and they last a decent amount of time on my oily face. With some fadin around the 4th hour. At £9.99, I couldn't not have bought it

Eye Shadow -MAC - Paint Pot - Constructivist
dzehnie 4/13/2012 4:03:00 AM
This is a gorgeous colour for dark skinned beauties. Im a mua, who works mostly with woc and I always use this shade on the lid when doing neutral eye makeup with something darker on the outer v and it always looks gorgeous. Colouring range, think mac nw45 upwards. However, I'm mac nc 45 and this doesn't look as nice on me as it does on darker skin tones. Still love it though. I also find it quite easy to blend and I just love the metallic sheen it has. Gorgeous! It doesn't crease on me too.

Lip Gloss -MAC - Kissable Lipcolour in Scandelicious
dzehnie 4/9/2012 3:39:00 PM
I'm in love with this lip colour. Tried it on at the mac counter and it's such a gorgeous pinky berry shade. It is blue toned. Makes my teeth look whiter and what I love most about it is that it feels very smooth upon application and is non-sticky. Would have loved to buy it but was too expensive for me. Almost £17.

Lipstick -MAC - Force Of Love - Matte
dzehnie 3/15/2012 4:31:00 AM
Totally in love with this lipstick. It's a gorgeous pink with a slight yellow-red tint to it. It is BRIGHT! But in a modern way. Prefer it to viva glam nicki. I can't talk much on the matte formula as this is my first mac matte lipstick but I didn't find it hard to apply and it didn't suck out the moisture from my lips a la ruby woo. I wear it during the daytime with neutral eyes and a black winged eyeliner and I've received compliments. It does resemble impassioned though and it's a touch or 2 deeper than vgn. Def recommend!

Lipstick -MAC - Viva Glam Nicki

I wouldn't buy this lippie again simply because I look like a fool wearing it! I couldn't be bothered to try it on at the store cuz I kept telling myself that it supports a good cause so even if it didn't look nice on me, I wouldn't feel bad. Hmmmm, I shouldve listened to the other side of my mind and tried it on because it looks downright gosh-awful!! I blame myself actually because this has been called a 'warmer' version of chatterbox and that, I can't pull off. It just makes my lips look more massive. Lol. Anyway, the formula, satin is nice (my fave) might be dryin for some but I always wear a balm beneath my lipsticks so I hav no probs with dry lips. I didn't test out the wear time since as soon as I put it on, it came off but I'm guessing about 4hrs?! It didn't stain my lips within the short period I had it on for. I wouldn't call this product a miss just because it didn't look good on me nc45 I'm sure there r pple it would look fab on. Till I find a way to rock it, it would just be sitting on my table top

Eye Shadow -Maybelline - Color Tattoo 24hr Cream Gel Shadow
dzehnie 3/14/2012 6:02:00 PM
Is the formula for these shadows in the uk different from that in the us? These just arrived in the uk and I got them from my local superdrug for about £4.99. The names & packaging are different from the ones in the us. I got on and on bronze, eternal gold and forever turquoise. The other shades available were taupe, asphalt and purple. We don't have the full range here too. Anyway, unto my review. I'm quite on the fence with these shadows as they creased on me barely about 4hrs of wear. I tried on and on bronze on one eye, and eternal gold on the other eye. Both creased! Very slight creasing though which seriously makes me wonder if there's nothing wrong with this batch here considering all the rave and positive reviews. It has nice pigmentation though and didn't budge on my lids. A bit of the shimmer however did transfer when I touched my eyes. I'm ranting too much. I guess it's a decent product but I'm just let down due to all the hype surrounding it. It's definitely goin to be replacing my paint pots as these are a lot cheaper and work just as well. The texture of this is lighter though so it dries faster compared to paint pots. Would repurchase again but in different colours. Maybe the matte ones EDIT: so I've had more time to play around with these therefore I can give a better review. I've added immortal charcoal to my collection (I think it's audacious asphalt in the US). It's a darkened silver shade with loads of fine shimmer. It's quite creamy but applies a bit patchy so you have to pat it on gently so your eyes don't end up looking all weird. The forever turquoise shade (which I'm guessing is tenacious teal) is the creamiest of the bunch that I have. It has silver glitter in it which is very noticeable. On my eyes, this colour appears green. Eternal gold (bold gold) is very patchy, glitter galore and just very NOT crease proof. Would still look for ways to wear this shade

Highlighters -MeMeMe Cosmetics - Beat the Blues
dzehnie 2/12/2012 11:08:00 AM
Bought sunbeam when I read that it was a dupe for benefit's moon beam. So I went to benefit to have my makeup done and in the process swatched moonbeam @ d back of my palm and I have to agree with people who say they do look alike. They r not entirely dupes, but they r quite close. I must say I'm really pleased with my purchase. Mixed it with my foundation and applied it all over my face and I could see the glow. It was just beautiful! Yet to use it on top foundation though so I can't say if it would wipe off the makeup there or not. I gave it a 4 and not 5 because it could look tOo shimmery in some lights. Love it tho :D great value for ur money

Highlighters -Unlisted Brand - Accessorize - highlighter
dzehnie 2/12/2012 10:55:00 AM
Swatched this on the back of my palm (nc 40) it was way too pink! Apart from that, it was very patchy when applied. Couldn't re-apply on areas that already had product on because it would wipe off. It did give a nice sheen tho. Would never purchase due to it's strong pink tones and it's short wear time

Lipstick -Cover Girl - Lip Perfection- Flame
dzehnie 1/25/2012 2:12:00 PM
Gorgeous colour. It's a pinky coral on me. Really bright. Doesn't look red @ all (on me though). Not drying and it's long lasting. Has a smell although not too overpowering. Bt it does linger on for minutes after application. UPDATE: wore this lipstick today. It's still smooth and creamy to apply but the scent! Ugh!! It's worse than I remember it to be. Something about it made me think of crushed bugs eeewwww. Don't think I'd be trying other colours if they all smell this way.

Mascara -Max Factor - Lash Extension Effect
dzehnie 1/16/2012 7:41:00 AM
This is one of my fave mascaras. It adds length and volume to my lashes making it look very natural. The formula isn't runny so it's harder to make mistakes when applying it. I love the brush so much I evn dip it in other mascara tubes when I've run out of it. My lashes don't look spidery when I use this mascara and it isn't clumpy too. Very easy to use especially for my lower lashes. And it dries quickly when applied.

Liquid -Mary Kay - Medium Coverage Foundation
dzehnie 1/12/2012 4:42:00 AM
I really like this foundation but it just doesn't work for my skin. I'm very oily and I find that within a few hours of wear, my face is extremely oily even with my smashbox photofinish primer in light underneath. it also transfers a lot! And I ALWAYS set my foundation with powder. I've tried it with diff types n brands of powder but the result is still d same. But I love the coverage it gives. As a makeup artist, I use it often on clients and they r always pleased with the result. I think it would work better on dry skin

Lipstick -MAC - Sheen Supreme Lipstick - Insanely It!
dzehnie 1/1/2012 10:38:00 AM
This is a gorgeous pink lipstick. In the tube it's almost fuschia but it doesn't look that way when applied. it has a slight bluish tint though. It's a gorgeous medium bright pink on my lips. Would post a picture of me in it when I figure out how to do so. Lol. The texture is soft and smooth to apply. I does have a bit of glitter to it which is only obvious in the tube. I love the shine and smoothness of sheen supremes. It doesn't last too long though. I love to wear it with a victoria secret's lipgloss in tiny bubbles patted just in the middle to give it an extra va va voom! Looks lovely without it though. The staying power is just a few hours, wasn't too dryin on my lips and it is opaque in one swipe. Would definitely repurchase. I'm nc45 for ref n I urge all ladies to try this color. I'm sure u would love it
