Cleansers -Bioderma - Sebium Purifying Foaming Gel
dreamindessert 9/12/2012 2:07:00 PM
I bought this cleanser becuase I am tired of harsh cleansers that strip my skin and make it redder. There are no scrubbies in this product so I don't get red from that. It is very gentle and when Im through I don't feel over-processed and tight. I think this is a very good morning product to remove excess oil... or to do a final cleanse on the face... you might need something with a little more oomphff for expholiating and makeup removal. But it's very very gentle.
I have oily skin and large pores. This product does not minimize pores. I have come to the conclusion that no face product can physically minimize pores. All you can do is hide them. Personally I welcome them. I have oily skin and I know as long as my pores are big that I will not be getting wrinkels as fast as someone with dry skin. Back to the product. It doesn't make me break out and it doesn't make me feel greasy. But like I said... it doesn't minimize pores.
Treatments -Bioderma - Sebium Mat Anti-shine Cream-gel
dreamindessert 9/12/2012 2:01:00 PM
After talking with a shoppers drug mart beauty consultant. she asked me what my main concern is. That morning I had no make up on. I am oily, sensitive and large pore and ance prone. She pointed me to this. I will say OMG!!!! This is such a light moisturizure... then she corrected me. She said my face doesn't need oil. it produces enough on it's own. It need a little hydration to balance out the sebum from cleansing it. I love love love this product becuase it's almost too light for my skin. I only use this in the morning and as a primer. You know how in the morning you are greasy from sleeping in your pillow. Well I just wash my face with warm water and a light light light cleanser. This matt cream balances without over doing it. and I don't feel greasy! However, in the evening I do not use this product becuase I find after removing my makeup my face needs a little more oomphff to balance it. This is expensive, where I live it is at 30$ a bottle. but I love it and it works.
Conditioner -Pantene - Fine Hair Solutions - Flat to Volume
dreamindessert 9/11/2012 3:28:00 PM
I have a very oily scalp... but I also have dry ends. My hair is not chemically treated. Most conditioners make me look greasy within 12 hrs. I've pretty much grown up having a shower every day. Yes... all my hair-stylist friends want to smack me. I have tried the whole shower every 2 days... did it for a whole month. I was known as the greasy person for 15 out of the 30 days. I have fallen in love with Lush's Jumping Juniper shampoo bar. (See my review of that product) But their conditioners were either too light or too heavy. Well, I have found one that works on my hair... and it give my hair a little extra oomphff it needs. I only use about a tbsp or two (depending on the weather) and run it from 4 inches from my scalp to my tips... If it's an extra dry day I take whatever is left over on my hands on rub it through my scalp. Brush runs through very nice. and I don't feel greasy at the end of every day. I still wash my hair regularly, but this provides the perfect amount of protection for my oily scalp. Definaltly good for me! YAY! I have a hair routine that works!!!!
I purchased this on a recommendation from a shoppers drug mart make up lady. After purchase I brought the brand new bottle home and shook lots. When I pumped it a clear oil came first and it took about 6 pumps to start getting foundation. Unfortunatly this was not a good sign as I have very oily skin. sure enough, the product did get shiney. But most do and it didn't last the day... it didn't even make it to lunch. I really enjoy the pump design... HERE THAT ALL YOU LAZY MAKE-UP COMPANIES!!!!! Still on the hunt for a foundation. :(
I fell in love with the nioxin cleanser for oily hair, but it was sadly discontinued. My hair stylist recommended this product becuase I don't have chemically treated hair and it's very fine. But it is also very greasy. I will admit I do like this product, but it has a lot in common with the AG Peppermint shampoo (which didn't work at all) After a month of use my hair does feel fuller. But but the end of the day I am greasy. I don't know if it's the shampoo or condition. I'm going to try an eliminate one product to see which part I have to change. There is no portion here for the conditioner on make up alley. So I'll put my review here. Like I said uptop I'm not sure if it's the shampoo or conditioner, but I feel very greasy at the end of the day with this product. Ever since I've started this nioxin treatment I have been getting break outs on my scalp... mainly along my hairline in the back. they are very painful and when I apply the conditioner it's a cooling tingling sensation right on the sores (so I think it's the conditioner breaking me out, I must be allergic to something in it). Like I saif uptop, I'm going to switch out my condition for something else and see if that fixes the problem. I was hoping this would work becuase I loved the oil controll cleanser soo much. :(
Moisturizers -Cetaphil - Cetaphil Derma Control Oil Control Moisturizer SPF 30
dreamindessert 7/19/2012 12:08:00 PM
I purchased this becuase a review on the internet said that "sometimes the best moisturize is the cheap one becuase that all you need it to do" well, it is too heavy for me. Woke up all greasy after applying it at night. still on the hunt :(
Moisturizers -Neutrogena - Oil-Free Moisture Sensitive Skin
dreamindessert 7/19/2012 12:06:00 PM
After reading some reviews of moisturizures on the internet I grabbed this... and for $6... it wasn't like I was breaking the bank. Well. you get what you pay for. This was soo heavy and it didn't sit well on my face. By morning I looked like a grease ball. Had to stop becuase my morning cleanser couldn't keep up with it. :(
Acutally this product is a toss up between yes and no for repurchase. I have very very oily skin. But it is also very red, sensative and acne prone. I needed a night cream and I feel in love with the Sensibo light moisturize. I used this product for 6 months and here's what I found out. Pros: Gentle Light-ish Doesn't clog pores. Cons: Smell weird I know the smell shouldn't be a make or break for a product, but this was really weird (like it had gone bad). but the lady claimed it would reduce the redness in my face... sadly, it did not... I really think I have too harsh of a cleanser (which I am hoping to remedy soon) but It was too heavy for me in the summer and I would wake up covered in oil. So now I only use the Sensibo light.
Moisturizers -Bioderma - sensibio light soothing cream
dreamindessert 7/19/2012 11:58:00 AM
I've been a faithful user of this product for over a year. Pros - light - doesn't clog pores - a little goes a long way - doesn't aggitate my senitive skin Cons - during the dry winter months I use a more heavy cream. But this is the only moisturizure I can put on at night and in the morning not look like a total grease ball. Very nice! ~~~~~Revised Review~~~~~~~ I think there is a ingredient that I must be allergic to in this line becuase I am always red immediatly after applying it. I have switched to the Sebium line in bioderma becuase it is made for oily skin. Please see my review of those products for more info. I have discontinued my use of this line of products.
Cleansers -Bioderma - Sensibio H2O (aka Crealine H20 Solution micellaire)
dreamindessert 7/19/2012 11:55:00 AM
OMG! I love this product. I have very very sensitive skin and it gets red very easily. This is the quickest, easiest and least aggresive way to remove make up. I do find I have to use another cleanser to get deep down into my pores. But this does remove virutally all make up... including the long wear stuff. And one bottle lasts forever. I think I've had the small bottle now for a year and I'm not even half way done it. so for the $25 (CAD) I paid at the shoppers drug mart... it's worth it. ~~~~~~Revised Review~~~~~~~ I have been using this product as a stand alone cleanser for a week and I noticed my face gets redder immediatly after use. I believe I may be allergic to an ingredient. I have switched to the sebium line in bioderma. Please see that line for my revew. I have discontinued this product.
Mascara -Make Up For Ever - Aqua Smoky Lash - Extra Black
dreamindessert 7/16/2012 1:31:00 AM
I needed a waterproof mascara for a vacation to the caribbean. The sephora lady recommended it. I have learned my lesson. A) Mascaras go rancid in 6 months. Ergo I cannot justify buying an expensive mascara that I have to throw out before I finish. b) test before you buy. buy the time I got it home and tried it... it was ok... but a week later it was all cakey and globby. Would clump like crazy. :(
Loose Powders -Clinique - Blended Face Powder and Brush
dreamindessert 7/16/2012 1:27:00 AM
I purchased this product becuase I had purchased a clinique foundation and wanted to keep the products the same. i have fair skin so I bought the invisible one. I love this powder! it's so light and soft. Very nice application with the brush. I will admit the staying power isn't OMG... but it's a loose powder... I usually set my foundation with a pressed powder and then touch up with this... still very very nice
Skincare - Face -Pro Activ - Pro Activ Solution Gentle Formula
dreamindessert 6/21/2012 5:03:00 PM
After my stupid review of the regular proactiv. I eventually went to cancel my subscription to proactiv the lady recommended me to the gentle formula. I will admit I love the cleanser (step 1), but I find step 2 and 3 are a little too harsh for my sensitive skin. I know only use step 1 as a dialy cleanser at the end of the day to help remove deep make-up. being as it's $30 a bottle for the one step I use very very little and it lasts me over 6 months. I have other more gentle cleansers for my morning routine.
Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast Volume Waterproof
dreamindessert 6/21/2012 4:58:00 PM
I watches a review from a make up artist are her fav high-street products and she recommended this. (Lisa Eldrigde) i've only been using it for a week, but I love it so far. No clumping. No running. Very soft application. Very buildable. I bought the black-brown and it's very natural looking for me. Easy to come off. Must remember to replace every 6 months before it goes rancid. but for $7 I think I can bend my pocket for that. :)
