Mascara -Chanel - Mascara Exceptionnel
dreamer81 12/21/2009 6:28:00 AM
This is a very nice mascara - gives my thin lashes a ton of volume and *oomph*, very sexy. I have this in smokey black (smokey noir). The lash applicator took a while to get used to - it doens't really have those fuller conventional bristle applicators. Gives the lashes a thick, rich looking coat and holds the curl perfectly. One thing that bugs me is the smell - i can't really describe it but it smells very chemically. Price is steep but overall worth it i think!

Eye Shadow -Bobbi Brown - Long-Wear Cream Shadow - Beach Bronze
dreamer81 12/21/2009 6:03:00 AM
Beach bronze is a shimmery medium-to-dark bronzey-brown cream eyeshadow. I wear this shadow very often paired on my lid with a light shimmery hi-light eyeshadow (i.e. any shimmery pale cream or pale pink colour). Some eyeliner, mascara and i have a perfectly flattering neutral eye look! The only gripe i have is that since it's a cream shadow, it does tend to dry up in texture a bit, making it a little difficult to blend smoothly on the lid. Make sure to use a good eye cream and primer before applying this! For ref: asian, nc25, bb tm light-to-med, chanel vitalumiere/mat lumiere 30 cendre)

Polishes -Lippmann Collection - Sarah Smile
dreamer81 12/21/2009 5:56:00 AM
My absolute favourite go-to shade! Sarah smile is a very sheer, very pale, soft beige-pink. It looks very beige in the bottle but definitely looks pinky on my nails. Really looks gorgeous and natural on the nails and matches almost anything you wear! The quality of lippmann nailpolishes the best i've come across - even better then *gasp* OPI :-O Runs around $20CAD @ Holt Renfrew.

Blush -Wet 'n' Wild - Silk Finish Blush 831D Pearlescent Pink
dreamer81 4/15/2006 11:08:00 AM
Pearlescent Pink is one of my favorite pink blushes (i'm a blush fiend too!). I love it because it's not bright, but it shows up so well as a flattering slightly shimmery-rosey-pink on my yellow/olive NC30/C3 skin. it is so cheap too! I use my MAC #129 blush brush with this, pick up some product, tap off excess (this is NOT a finely milled product ladies!) then apply to my cheeks. Be careful not to overload your brush, as the blush is very "soft". Love this!! Will repurchase again for sure at the rate i'm going.

Lip Gloss -MAC - Lustreglass in Love Nectar
dreamer81 4/14/2006 11:42:00 AM
I just love love nectar. First of all, i'm a HUGE fan of the lustreglass formula because it is much lighter, non-sticky but just as shiny as the MAC lipglasses. Love nectar is really interesting shade. Very sheer, light peachy-pink pearly color with some gold shimmer. I really love this on its own, or on top of another lipcolor to add some complexity and shine. So pretty. Would repuchase over and over! For reference, i'm asian, NC30/C3/stila 30watts/LM sunny beige!

Bath Treatments -Skindecent - Milk Bomb
dreamer81 4/8/2006 7:16:00 AM
Amazing. SO SO moisturizing, and delightful to just lie and relax in because it gives the water a nice, creamy/thick/moisturizing feel along with your choice of scent! My first milk bomb i've tried is in Creme Brulee. I made the mistake of using an entire milk bomb in ONE bath, which is too too heavy in my opinion. Half or even 1/4 or 1/3 of it would be just fine. Honestly? One my first shot with these, i can tell you that they KILL LUSH bath bombs - really blows them out of the water - especially when it comes to the intensity of the fragrance, and also the moisture level. For those with oily skin, i'm not too sure you'd enjoy these. They can feel very oily after you step out of the tub, but that's what i enjoy about them. No need to moisturize, feels luxurious, blahblah, i could go on ;) I am stocked up on a number of scents for this, i can't wait to buy more :) Go to their website and try these out!! :)

Scrubs -Skindecent - Bermuda Beach Smoother
dreamer81 4/8/2006 7:10:00 AM
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh close to heaven in my books :) I usually never use scrubs, if i do, it's very rarely. However, recently, i've been lurking on the Bath and Body boards, which has opened my eyes to a whole new work of shopping - etailers! :) (uh oh) Anyhow, I have this in amazing scrub in a variety of scents, but one of my favorites so far is Vanilla Frosting! The texture is nice and thick, and when rubbed onto the skin, feels simply amazing and scrubby! Leaves the skin with a light layer of oil and scent, whihc i absolutely love. I could not ask for anything more in a scrub! I don't even need to moisturize afterwards. I will continue buying this!!

Conditioner -Aveda - Elixir daily leave-in conditioner [DISCONTINUED]
dreamer81 4/2/2006 3:08:00 AM
I agree with the MUAer below's review - that this is even BETTER than the Kiehl's leave-in!! :) (atleast it works better with my hair!!) i'm asian and half very long, layered wavy thick color-treated sometimes frizzy hair that has been through hell the past few years, and after i wash and condition my hair, i rub Elixir into my hands and finger-comb the product through my hair. I then use a comb to comb my hair out. Elixir detangles, seems to help get rid of frizz that i normally would have w/o any product, and is a nice, liquidy consistancy making it light on the hair. I just love this stuff!! I use about two quarter-sized amounts in my hair each time i use it. really really recommend this stuff!! May be HG :)

Bronzers -Giorgio Armani - Sheer Bronzer #1
dreamer81 4/1/2006 12:22:00 AM
Armani cosmetics are really hit OR miss, never really in between for me - except maybe for this bronzer. This one was very mediocre on my asian yellow/olive MMM (LSF 5/5.5) skin. This is a sheer, brown-ish bronzer, that did not give a nice look to my face at all. This bronzer cannot take any extra moisture on the skin or it looks blotchy/streaky - so i can only wear this with matte foundations/powder foundations as opposed to my fave dewy/luminous foundations. Still loving my Cargo medium bronzer, and NARS south beach and palm beach multiples.

Moisturizers -L'Occitane - Radiance Moisturizing Cream [DISCONTINUED]
dreamer81 3/31/2006 4:45:00 AM
Hmm.... i don't love or hate this. I sort of feel "meh" about it. Love the packaging - it's a pretty glass jar ;) But anyhow, i have normal/dry skin, and normally i use Biotherm's aqua source non-stop, but while i was shopping at L'occitane, i thought, hey, why not try something different! This is a light, yet greasy cream, does not feel like it fully sinks in. Leaves a VERY VERY shiny gleam on the face, which i don't mind (like an mua-er wrote below, a little makeup can fix that :P), but my face still feels parched after using this! :( Also, these days i've been breaking out, and my skin normally does not react to trying out a whole whack of different products. Sadly, not my thing. I will return to Biotherm as soon as i finish this jar up!

Conditioner -Aveda - Damage Remedy Restructuring Conditioner
dreamer81 3/31/2006 4:39:00 AM
Just amazing for my hair!! I have long, thick, wavy/slightly frizzy color-treated hair (*whew*) and this stuff literally makes my hair feel like i never did anything to it! (no joke!!) Very VERY rich, moisturizing, and highly-aveda-fragrant. May be a little too heavy for people with fine hair. A HG!

Styling Products -Bumble & Bumble - Gloss
dreamer81 3/31/2006 3:46:00 AM
Gloss is just. wonderful. I really am liking this, and i'm pretty picky with haircare products. My hair is very thick, long, wavy, heavily chemically-dealt with, and after my hair is dry, i spray a little of B&B's Gloss into the palm of my hands, rub my hands together, and very quickly sift my hands through my hair. This is not heavy-textured at all, infact, it's very light and non-greasy! Does not mess with my waves, and gives it a beautiful glossy sheen! My only rant, is that there is a very heavy alcohol-y smell :( Still, i would continue to buy this :) Hair HG!!

Blush -Laura Mercier - Illuminating Stick - Golden Rose Glow
dreamer81 3/29/2006 3:24:00 AM
Great, creamy quality and blends nicely on my cheeks, but somehow, this isn't a fave at all for me :/ Golden rose glow shows up *quite* frosty on me, thus, very unnatural. I just didn't like the finish of it. The colour is just gorgeous though - a rosey-light bronze. For reference, i'm an nc30/c3/LM sunny beige oil-free/stila 30watts. I would not repurchase.

Eye Shadow -Laura Mercier - Eye Colour- Margaux
dreamer81 3/29/2006 3:20:00 AM
Laura mercier makes some of the *best* matte eyeshadows. Blends like a dream, unlike some other mattes from other companies that are extremely hard to make look natural/not harsh. Marguax is a medium-toned matte, greyish-blue with a *hint* of purple. Just lovely! I have dark brown, asian eyes, LM sunny beige complexion, and this is a very stunning, yet subtle enhancer. LOVE IT!

Lipstick -Stila - Anni
dreamer81 3/28/2006 9:00:00 PM
This pink lipstick is perfection IMO, i seriously love this so much! THe texture is sheer and moist/gloss - exactly like MAC lustres are :) I received Anni l/s in a swap from a wonderful gal and i'm so glad i did! Anni is a super sheer, shiny, cool pink with very little shimmer. Very sexy and girlie. Even though it's quite cool-toned, it looks great against my yellow/olive MMM skin! I would definately repurchase.
