Blush -MAC - Fun & Games - Hello Kitty [DISCONTINUED]

Reviewing this blush because I'm wearing it right now! I layered Redhead MSF over it, and now I have the most perfect peachy glowy cheeks. Awesome! My only gripe would be that I have to layer on this blush a few times for it to show up on me (NC35), but other than that the color is gorgeous! I love MAC's beauty powder blushes. :)

Lipstick -MAC - "Red" She Said
rated 5 of 5

I LOVE this product! It's red all right, but it's more of a pinkish-red (but that still makes it red!). It's great to have an amplified red lipstick, because I find the mattes and satins pretty drying. Also, because it isn't as bold as the mattes such as Russian Red, I feel that this is a much more wearable red lipstick - even for day time usage. What's more, this is quite fool-proof which means I can afford to apply it without a lipbrush! :D The only downside to this product is that it kinda makes my teeth look yellow, even though it's a blue-based lipstick, which is weird. Overall, I really love love love this product, and would repurchase in a jiffy! MAC, please make this permanent, or at least introduce more amplified reds. If you don't mind this being a pinkish-red lippie, I suggest you go out to buy it before it gets sold out. ;)

Lipstick -MAC - Up The Amp

I've been contemplating this product for some time, and today I finally went into a MAC store to try this out. WOW, simply amazing! I think this color is even more striking than Pink Nouveau (which is a barbie doll pink); I would describe this unique color as kinda pinkish-lavender but leaning more towards lavender. You gotta try it on to see for yourself, and be prepared to be amazed because it's an unusually great color! ;) I love it so much, I'm gonna have to go back to the store soon and grab a tube of it (I bought Viva Glam VI l/s during this visit). For reference: I'm a yellow-skinned Chinese, with cool undertones.

Mascara -Za - Wide Eyes Mascara Comb-Type Brush
rated 1 of 5

Doesn't curl or lengthen my lashes. Sure, it's waterproof and stays on all day, but what is the use of applying a mascara when it neither curls nor lengthens? Unless maybe you buy the coloured ones, and just use it as a fashion statement (which is not my style, I prefer natural makeup). I wouldn't buy this product again.

Eyeliner -Bourjois - Regard Effet Metallise - 52 Brun Inoxydable Metallic Eyeliner
rated 5 of 5

I absolutely adore this eyeliner. It's my favourite so far, and I find it even better than MAC's powerpoint. The colour is a nice shiny bronze, which doesn't look too harsh (I don't like fierce-looking eyes). It's the only waterproof pencil eyeliner from Bourjois, and man it really does stay put on my oily lids, which really impressed me. The creamy texture means that it can glide on easily instead of the usual tugging and pulling associated with pencil liners. I'm not sure whether it's a limited edition but I sure hope it isn't, because this will be one product which I am willing to go back and buy over and over agin. Cheers.

Eyeliner -Bourjois - Regard Paillete glitter pencil noir eblouissant
rated 3 of 5
dreamer246 6/21/2007 10:48:00 PM

I have this in Noir Eblouissant (black) and Gris Ensorcelant (a pale silver-blue which I totally adore). Staying power is very weak, due to my oily lids. After a while, all that is left are the glittery particles. That's why I prefer the silver-blue eyeliner, because it isn't very obvious to begin with, just a very nice shimmery colour. But if you don't have oily lids, I highly recommend this product because it really brightens up your eyes, and the black isn't the deepest black, which actually works if you don't want to look too heavily made up. Also I love the design of the pencil, it actually has glitter on its 'skin' with golden words on it, making it look oh so pretty. But it feels kinda harsh (read: rough) when drawing it on my lids, maybe it's due to the glitter particles which isn't exactly smooth.

Eyeliner -MAC - MAC Powerpoint eyeliner
rated 2 of 5

I got this in Navy Stain. Personally I don't think this eyeliner is all that good. And I seriously doubt that it's waterproof. I have oily lids and after a while it kinda disappears. Plus it's not really visible and I find it hard to use on my lower lids. The only good thing is that it isn't too costly and it comes in a wide range of colours.

Mascara -Fasio - Power-stay mascara 3D plus Air Tech curl Volume
rated 4 of 5
dreamer246 6/21/2007 9:38:00 PM

I'd like to say that this is the first mascara I used that has successfully managed to (partially) curl my stubborn asian lashes! It looks gorgeous. I bought the brown one. The mascara wand is great though, there's a curved side used for curling lashes and the straighter side for adding volume/length. It's pretty cheap as well. What I don't like about this product is that it tends to get clumpy and somehow (I don't know whether it collects dust or whatever) but it manages to irritate my eyes (I wear contacts). And it is one of the toughest waterproof mascara around, because it is sooooo hard to remove! I always have to sacrifice a lash or two when removing it. But since I don't use mascara very often, I might consider getting this product again since they have very short shelf lives and it doesn't hurt as much to throw out a half-used mascara tube when it's dirt cheap.

Concealers -Za - Concealer Perfection

Great product from ZA! A bonus for being dirt cheap as well. Haha. Although it doesn't cover my scars completely (but maybe that's because I have prominent acne scars), but it does a relatively good job. Definitely a winner for me.

Foundations -Za - Two-Way Foundation SPF20 PA++
rated 2 of 5
dreamer246 6/21/2007 9:24:00 PM

Before I knew much about makeup, I used up 2 compacts of this foundation just because my sister was using it. But thinking back, I really dislike this product now, the texture of the powder wasn't fine enough and it always feels and looks like I'm wearing a mask on my face. Horrid! Maybe it's because I have really oily skin, so the staying power wasn't great either. But hey, don't let me discourage you from trying this product, I know lots of people who swear by this foundation. Perhaps it's just not suited for my skin. All the best!

Foundations -Maybelline - Dream Matte Mousse
rated 4 of 5
dreamer246 6/21/2007 9:13:00 PM

Well first off I would like to state that I would've given it three and a half lippies if possible. This product is like a concealer/foundation combined together, and a little bit goes a long way. It covers my acne scars relatively well, doesn't make me break out, and it looks very natural (provided you get it in the right shade, of course). Unfortunately for me, I have very oily skin, so in about 2 hours my face is all shiny and oily again. And I really hate getting the foundation into my nails when I dip my finger into the container. I still have yet to find the perfect foundation (suggestions, anyone?), but I would consider getting this product again because it works quite well considering it's a cheap product, the packaging is not too bad, and it's easily portable since it's not bulky or messy.
