Lip Liners -Victoria's Secret - Ginger Spice
rated 5 of 5

What the frack Victoria's Secret? Of course another product I love, but they discontinue it. Grrrr. Such a beautiful color. A youtube guru recommended it, and since she is the same coloring as me, I had to go to the website and get it. It is so creamy and long lasting. It looks great under almost every lip gloss I have. I wish someone would figure out a dupe or sub for this. It is expensive at 12 dollars but I had a secret reward card so it was alot cheaper.

BB Cream -Smashbox - Camera Ready BB Cream SPF 35
rated 1 of 5
drdoodles 12/14/2012 9:27:00 PM

I really wanted to a BB cream type product so I did my research and found the smashbox bb cream to be really popular and get good reviews. I went to Sephora and tried a sample there. I put the cream on my forehead and my chin. I have acne prone and in a couple of days my forehead (which never really breaks out) had a bunch of small pimples and so did my chin. Yuck, so just be aware of this if you have acne prone skin.

Fragrances -Hermes - Eau des Merveilles
rated 2 of 5
drdoodles 11/10/2012 1:45:00 PM

It is interesting to read all the comments about this perfume. Some people smell oranges, the ocean, wood, musk etc. I don't smell any off those things. I got a generous sample of this from Sephora. I really wanted a perfume that would make me smell like I was living in a orange orchard, just a mature layered scent of oranges. I would think the house of Hermes would deliver on such a product, but no this does not. I barely smell any oranges, my best description of this scent is baby powder with spicy notes. I could see how this could work for other people, but it does not work with my chemistry. There is nothing sexy about this scent, it just "exists". I will say the lasting power for me is pretty high though. So in conclusion, I am highly disappointed, I expect something better from a high end brand like Hermes.

Eyeliner -Physicians Formula - Eye booster eyeliner + serum
rated 5 of 5
drdoodles 10/15/2012 9:37:00 PM

I love this eyeliner and I am surprised it is not more popular. I am not one of those talented ladies that can line their eyes, with ease. I never wore eyeliner until I reached my 30s because I simply did not know how to do it. Every single time I tried, I either make a sloppy line or it would just look crazy. I decided to get this eyeliner based on good reviews and because the local cvs was having a great deal on it. I love this eyeliner, it glides on with ease, the sharp tip is precise and is long lasting. The very black shade is very black, and I have really no other complaints about this product.

Cleansers -Biore - Blemish Fighting Ice Cleanser
rated 1 of 5
drdoodles 8/15/2012 9:49:00 PM

I don't understand how this product is getting good reviews. Maybe they changed the formula, because they definitely changed the bottle (it is white with blue and orange writing now). I got this with the purchase of this years Allure Beauty box. I usually hate products with methnol in it, but since I have using it in the hot summer, the cooling effect is a nice feeling. I am really not so sure about the acne fighting properties of this product. I have clear skin that is acne prone, so after using this product for about a week, I got this giant pimple on my cheek. You know the type where it takes weeks to disappear? Now I have a big dark mark where the pimple was. All the ingredients in this cleanser just seem incredibly harsh for the face.

Polishes -Revlon - Gray Suede #705
rated 5 of 5
drdoodles 6/7/2012 2:17:00 PM

I was initially looking for a nude type nail polish and wanted something that be a neutral shade that was good enough to wear to work. I was attracted to Dior Safari beige, but I just couldn't live myself for spending over $20 for a nude nail polish. If I am going to spend that much, it better have flecks of gold or be some other color that is visible from across the room. Lol. More importantly I didn't have time to waste wondering if it would actually work with my skin color. A beauty blogger mentioned that Gray Suede looks great on NC40 skin tones, and I have to agree, it gives that mannequin hand look that I was wanting. With all the drugstore discounts and coupons, this item was basically free for me.

Shampoo -Suave - Daily Clarifying Shampoo
rated 2 of 5
drdoodles 3/16/2012 6:58:00 PM

I know this product is getting great reviews, but I just want to add a word of warning to people with fine hair. I used this product for maybe 4 years twice a week like a regular shampoo and I noticed last year that the hair in front of my head started to thin. I stopped using this product and switched over to a less harsh shampoo. It has taken some time but the hair in front of head is no longer thin and the strands have thickened up. This product is extremely harsh, when they say clarifying they really mean it. I would advice you guys not to use it like a regular shampoo, and maybe use it one a month, for the purpose it was intended for which is a shampoo that removes styling product buildup.

Cleansers -Olay - Dual Action Cleanser + Pore Minimizing Scrub 2 in 1 Foaming Cleanser
rated 4 of 5
drdoodles 7/27/2011 12:50:00 AM

I tried this cleanser a long time ago, and was pleased with it, but for some reason I thought there has to be a better cleanser out there so I tried Aveeno, Biore and Olay Regenerist. Well after getting two giant hard pimples on either side of my face thanks to the Olay Regenerist, I stopped using it. The Aveeno and the Biore didn't exactly help my skin either, so I said enough is enough and bought this Olay cleanser again. So let me start this review, first the packaging, it is a very nice air pump bottle that pushes up liquid as you pump. The smell of the product is amazing, it smells like night jasmine. It does a great job of cleaning my face and within 3 days of using it the scars from the fore mentioned pimples started fading. The scrub particles are really nice, they are very gentle for every day use. The only reason I take a star away is the amount of product for the price is very little. Since it is an air pump bottle, there is this plastic part at the bottom that takes a significant amount of space. After 3 days of use, almost 1/4 of the container is used. Also the price, I paid $7.50 at target for this, usually face cleansers which have more product are cheaper than this.

Cleansers -Neutrogena - Oil-Free Acne Stress Control Power - Cream Wash
rated 3 of 5
drdoodles 3/4/2011 11:07:00 PM

Before I start my review, I would like to say I do not have acne, but I have acne prone skin. I always on the look out for products especially facial cleansers that do not cause acne. I bought this product because the store did not have the usual Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Stress Control Foaming liquid wash. I decided to get this since they are in the same Acne Stress Control family. First off, I have to automatically deduct a star because this product has menthol. I don't understand this trend with putting menthol in facial cleansers. I hate that cool feeling and I can't imagine that menthol is good for the skin. I understand this product is in cream form, but damn, it is really really creamy. The little granules, do nothing in my opinion, and the cleaning aspect is ok. It did not cause me to break out and the smell is pleasant. I am not going to buy this product again.

Cleansers -Clean & Clear - Continuous Control Acne Cleaner
rated 1 of 5
drdoodles 1/29/2010 10:41:00 PM

My roommate bought this product by mistake for me, since I usually use Clean & Clear continuous wash, she thought it was the same purple bottled product. I decided to try it, since I am always on the look out for a good facial cleanser. Before I start my review, I would like to say I have acne prone skin, and I do get an occasional pimple, but most of the time my skin is pretty clear. This product is really harsh, the 10% benzyl peroxide is no joke. I know the label says keep out of eyes and near mouth, but if you wash your forehead with product it will eventually go toward the eye region, due to gravity. I keep my eyes closed but the product gets near the skin of my eyelashes. So painful!! I don't really like the menthol cooling effect and it really didn't do much to my skin but strip all the moisture and make it really dry. I would definitely not buy this product again.

Lip Gloss -Victoria's Secret - Beauty Rush- Juiced Berry
rated 4 of 5
drdoodles 8/16/2009 4:34:00 PM

This lip gloss is pretty amazing. I wanted to try Victoria's secret's lip glosses for a long time, but was afraid I would pick the wrong color. After reading some of the reviews here, I decided to get Juiced berry. When I think of berry flavor, I usually associate it with that artifical smell that is usually found in cough syrup. This definitely does not smell like that. It smells like those sucker hard candies that come in different flavors, and at times it does smell like wine too. It leaves a beautiful sheer reddish color and I think it would be perfect for any skin tone. It has teeny tiny sparkles which are so pretty. I took one lippie off for the packaging, it has one of those containers where you squeeze to get the product. I am actually surprised this is not a more popular color.

Shampoo -John Frieda - Brilliant Brunette Shine Release Moisturizing Shampoo
rated 3 of 5
drdoodles 4/25/2009 12:04:00 AM

I decided to try this shampoo based on the great reviews here at makeupalley. After about three months of using it, I will say it is an ok shampoo. It did not dry out my hair or make it look frizzy. It just cleaned my hair. The smell is ok as well, it is a mild cocoa scent. I will not buy it again because it leaves bumps on some parts of my scalp that are tender to the touch. I am probably allergic to something in this shampoo. Also it stains my rubber shower mat and some parts of my tub, which is really annoying.

Cleansers -Clean & Clear - Morning Burst Facial Cleanser
rated 1 of 5
drdoodles 8/20/2006 4:00:00 PM

This is the worst facial cleaner I have tried. I feel like I splashed a whole bottle of men's cologne on my face every time I use this product. It is soo scented. I could care less about the microbeads because they are useless and only serve to make the bottle look pretty. If you have a sensitive nose or don't want to smell like a guy, do not buy this product.

Treatments -Neutrogena - Rapid Clear Acne Defense Face Lotion
rated 1 of 5
drdoodles 7/29/2006 7:04:00 PM

I bought this product based on the postive reviews here at MUA and as a substitute to my beloved Neutrogena Clear Pore treatment, which as been recently retired. I tried the Rapid Clear Acne Defense for approximately 3 weeks. My skin was getting progressively worse in that time period. As soon as I stopped using this product, my skin became much clearer and better looking. I am convinced that the natural "extracts" were causing me to break out. I had to go back and buy a stock of Neutrogena Clear Pore treatment off the internet, because it is difficult to find in the store. When that runs out, I will probably try Paula's BHA lotion.

Lip Gloss -Bonne Bell - Dr. Pepper lipsmackers
rated 4 of 5
drdoodles 10/18/2005 3:11:00 PM

Initially, when I tried this product, I didn't understand what the big deal was and why it was getting such good ratings at MUA. I have given it a couple of days and now I finally understand. It is a really wonderful lip balm that smells great. I have medium pigmented lips and initially I thought the color didn't show at all and I thought I was wearing clear lip balm, but now I realize that the Dr.Pepper lip balm leaves a slight hint of color. It is my lips but better. This a product that should be kept in everyones purse and used at the times when you want something on your lips but don't have a mirror. The price is great and I printed a 1 dollar off coupon on the bonne bell website. Overall good product!!! that I might buy again.
