Eyeliner -FLOWER Beauty - On Your Mark Liquid Eyeliner- Brown
rated 1 of 5

I was so disappointed with this eyeliner! It is unpigmented and took several passes before I could get the color to build up enough that I could see it. Even when I layered line after line, the brown shade was so light. The packaging looks and feels inexpensive, and I paid around $8 - too much for the quality of this liner.

BB Cream -Skin79 - Super+ BB Cream Gold Label
rated 5 of 5
doocaw 3/7/2013 9:10:00 PM

I'm so glad I happened upon this product - it is every bit as amazing as people say it is. I have the Pink and Gold versions, so I'll review the Gold and throw in a couple comparisons to the Pink label. Gold is a very moisturizing, dewy formula that has excellent pigmentation and coverage. These BB creams have a unique slip to them, which comes from their gel-like texture. It allows them to be spread across the skin with precision and ease, and can accept layering in problem areas. The Gold is a little creamier than the Pink, and also slightly deeper in color. It actually is a hair too dark/pink for my NC20 skin. I get a slightly better color match with Pink. If you're really fair, try the Orange label. The formula is thicker and lightest (in color) of all the shades.

Eye Primer -NARS - Pro-Prime Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base
rated 5 of 5
doocaw 3/7/2013 8:43:00 PM

I am a long-time user of UDPP, and thought that was the best formula on the market. Then I tried NARS. Wow, this stuff is the gold standard. It's got a slightly tacky consistency that UD's didn't have, but that makes it even better as a base. And somehow the tackiness dries down and doesn't result in creasing. I get perfect, all-day wear from my shadows when I layer tham over Pro-Prime base. The tube is well designed, you can actually effectively use the product inside without resorting to slicing it up (not so with the UD wand style tube). The little doe-foot applicator is a little bit chubby, so it's the perfect shape and size for getting the primer from tube to eyelid. High praise for this product!

Pressed Powders -MAC - Mineralize Skinfinish Natural - Light Plus
rated 5 of 5
doocaw 3/7/2013 8:39:00 PM

I'm on my second compact and it's lasted me over a year - this stuff is expensive, but you get a lot of product. MSFN is one of my top two powders (the other is NARS light reflecting loose) and the perfect product for setting foundation. It's a perfect color match for my NC20 skin, and makes my skin look radiant and refined, but never powdery. I use a fluffy brush to apply. I will always repurchase this.

Lip Liners -MAC - Cremestick Liner - Red Enriched
rated 5 of 5
doocaw 3/7/2013 8:31:00 PM

This is my HG red liner. I used to use Brick and Cherry, but the drier pencil formulas were harder to use, and I hated sharpening them. Red Enriched is the Cremestick formula, which is the twist-up pencil style. This is a true, medium to deep red. I wear it with Russian Red, Chili, Dubonnet, Rockocco... any MAC reds - it looks amazing and keeps them from feathering.

Lipstick -MAC - Russian Red
rated 5 of 5
doocaw 3/7/2013 8:28:00 PM

Russian Red is the most widely flattering bright red lipstick that MAC makes. It's warm enough for the warm-toned ladies that can pull off Lady Danger and Chili, and cool enough for those who prefer the blue-based Ruby Woos. I love this formula - matte but not drying, and long-lasting. I wear Red Enriched liner with this, and it's a great combination.

Lipstick -MAC - Matte - Chili
rated 5 of 5
doocaw 3/7/2013 8:23:00 PM

This is in my top three lipsticks - I love Chili. I read that Rachel Zoe wears this color as well, so I decided to give it a shot. My Macy's counter didn't carry it, but Nordstrom did. It's the most amazing medium warm brown red. It's a color that reminds me of spices - vibrant and earthy. I love the matte texture as well, and prefer my reds to be matte, because the product doesn't travel as much and end up all over my face. Chili wears really well when I pair it with a liner (MAC Red Enriched is my go-to) and doesn't exaggerate drier lips, like some mattes can. NC20s, this is your red!

Lotions/ Creams -L'Occitane - 20% Shea Butter Hand Cream
rated 4 of 5
doocaw 3/7/2013 8:20:00 PM

I love this hand cream. I keep a tube in my bedside table and one in my bathroom. I love that it moisturizes well, smells clean and light, and doesn't cause my hands to feel coated and greasy. The metal tube is a bit of a hassle, but I use the "key" that L'Occitane sells to keep the tube rolled down as I use it up. I can't believe that this costs $28 a tube - it's definitely overpriced - but I love it so much that I keep repurchasing.

Moisturizers -L'Occitane - Immortelle Precious Cream SPF 20
rated 3 of 5
doocaw 3/7/2013 8:17:00 PM

I love the pretty glass jar this product is housed in. It's heavy and feels very expensive. Well, it is expensive. Almost $60 for 1.7 oz. This feels very creamy and moisturizing when applied on my skin (combo-oily). It does tend to look a little bit shiny and I have to be careful what I layer over it, because it will "catch" powder products and cause them to spread unevenly. I would never repurchase this - it's far to expensive for a nice cream that doesn't give me noticable benefits. I'll use this up and return to my Olay Total Effects.

Fragrances -Prada - Infusion d'iris edp
rated 5 of 5
doocaw 3/7/2013 8:07:00 PM

I wear this for date nights and going out. I love how earthy and green it smells, but it's still feminine and clean. Infusion d'Iris is a very sophisticated and complex scent, and this always lasts hours on my skin; it's very potent.

Fragrances -Prada - Infusion d'Iris Eau de Parfum Absolue
rated 3 of 5
doocaw 3/7/2013 8:04:00 PM

I love Infusion d'Iris, and was so excited about this new version. Absolue was a disappointment. It started out very much like the original, but became overly powdery after it dried down. The effect was really unflattering on me. I wanted to love it, but I'll stick with Infusion d'Iris.

Lipstick -MAC - Apres Chic
rated 4 of 5
doocaw 3/7/2013 8:01:00 PM

Apres Chic is a unique color - a bricky pink-red with a twist of orange. The color is lovely, and brightens my NC20 complexion. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 rating is that it's prone to bleeding and feathering, more so than other MAC lipsticks I wear. A lipliner is definitely recommended with this product.

Lip Gloss -MAC - Perky
rated 5 of 5
doocaw 3/7/2013 7:59:00 PM

I picked up Perky during its Holiday 2012 release, and love it. It's similar to Morning Glory lustreglass or Cultureclash, but leans a touch more lavender. It's loaded with rainbow-hued tiny glitters, but feels smooth on lips. I adore MAC's packaging and formula. The vanilla scent is my favorite ever. I wish this was permanent.

BB Cream -Skin79 - Super+ BB Cream Pink Label
rated 5 of 5
doocaw 10/7/2012 9:35:00 PM

I'm a stay at home mom, and this is my go-to product for everyday. I wear it when I want lighter coverage than foundation, and it covers better than NARS Pure Radiant TM. I find the coverage closer to MAC Studio Moisture Tint. I'm NC20 and a few minutes after application the shade adjusts to my tone with ease. The texture feels like gel; very light and creamy. It spreads and covers better than any tinted moisturizer I've used, and when I wash my face at the end of the night, quite a bit comes off on the washcloth, so I know it lasts through the day. If I had one complaint, it's that there isn't much oil control. It's not quite as oily as the VIP Gold version, which I wear when I need more moisture, but does require a setting powder and blotting sheets throughout the day. I purchased this from a reputable seller on Amazon, for around $15, shipping included. I love the packaging, and the sanitary pump dispenser.

Mascara -L'Oreal - Voluminous Power Collagen 24H
rated 2 of 5
doocaw 10/7/2012 9:25:00 PM

I really liked the Voluminous Million Lashes version, so I thought I'd give Power Collagen a try. This one was a disappointment. The brush is very large and spiky, and makes getting close to the base of the lashes very difficult. I smeared mascara on my eyelids quite a bit during application. Also, the formula took all the curl out of my lashes and left them limp. The result is a very soft, flexible lash with no flaking, but the difficult application and lack of volume make it unlikely that I will rebuy this mascara.
