Moisturizers -Olay - Olay Complete with SPF 15 Cream
doedoechachacha 8/9/2009 3:31:00 PM
Pros: - It's light-weight, and not oily for the face. It doesn't feel like it is clogging my pores. - It's relatively cheap, I think I got it for $10... Which is pretty decent for a moisturizer Cons: - I personally don't like the texture of this moisturizer. I'm a super texture type of person, and although this one is light-weight, I have to wait a long time for it to dry, plus it's so watery that I feel like it's falling off my face. I would prefer a more light and creamy texture that isn't found in this product. - I can't stand the smell. It's so perfumy it gets really neauseating. - Only 15 SPF?? That's so little! I don't feel I get much coverage at all. - I don't feel the packaging makes the product very portable

Powder -Everyday Minerals - foundation semi-matte formula
doedoechachacha 7/18/2009 12:22:00 AM
Pros: - It's cheap!!!! It's so cheap for makeup! - It's natural. I mean for something you have to put on your face everyday, you wouldn't want something that is totally damaging to your face, or is full of random chemicals. - I was surprised at the coverage. I used to use Laura Mercier, the liquid tinted moisturizer, and I had no idea a mineral makeup could cover as good as the liquid kind. - You can play around with the colors. If something's not working for you, you can mix them around and figure out the perfect tint. Plus, it's nice that they have a forum where other girls help you out. - It's fast to put on. The main reason why I switched from liquid to powder is that I hated how I'd have to wait for the liquid to dry before putting anything else on. Plus, I hated having to use my fingers or a sponge or something to apply it and smear it around. It feels lighter to brush it on and I don't feel like I'm moving my skin around brashly with my fingers. I also bought their "buff puff" (I think that's what it's called) which are those containers that hold the powder and also have an attached foam thing so the powder seeps right through and onto your skin. I should write another review for that but basically it's cut down my makeup applying time by a lot. Plus, it's easy to carry around without needing to use a brush. - A small jar truly lasts a longer time than you'd expect. - Great for people with oily skin. I feel like I can sleep with this makeup and not feel gross. I don't have particularly oily skin, but when I've used other makeup and I sleep with them on, I wake up to a greasy face. Cons: - You have to pay shipping. I hate paying shipping. But you know what? It's truly so cheap, so it's not that big of a deal, in my opinion. - The jars are kind of cheap. I've been using one for a while now and the jars like, falling apart! It's okay, cause I moved it into a bigger and more sturdy jar. - It's hard to determine your skin color when you have to purchase it online. - I think the powder can come off throughout the day. You know what's funny though, is that once I had the makeup on and I was late to work and I was sweating so much cause I as I was trying to run here and there. And I noticed that my makeup actually looked BETTER! I think that the water (or my swear) helped even out the makeup and also hold it to my face better. Anyway, I went off on a tangent but basically my point is that this makeup is really good for a natural look, but very bad for a night time/going out look.

Treatments -Origins - Super Spot Remover
doedoechachacha 7/18/2009 12:05:00 AM
Pros: - The packaging is really cute. I mean, it's really small so you can take it anywhere and just the way it looks it's cute. Cons: - It's just salicylic acid. Salicylic acid is basically, an acid, that clears your pores of dead skin. I mean, it helps with acne because it prevents oil buildup, which ultimately causes acne. In my opinion, it doesn't do much for my acne. Benzoyl peroxide does a better job at actually killing those acne bacteria. So as a topical gel, I would say it doesn't cut it - although i do use it to clean my blackheads (but I wouldn't use this particular product for that because they give you so little!) - It's expensive for just salycylic acid. You can get it waaayyy cheaper at your local drugstore with similar mixtures.

Masks -Burt's Bees - pore-refining mask with green french clay ] ] [DISCONTINUED]
doedoechachacha 7/17/2009 11:55:00 PM
Pros: - I love the packaging. It's in a tin can and it comes with a scooper so that you scoop out the powder material. Everything stays clean, and it looks super cute. - It's in powder form. I mean, you can argue for or against this, but to me it's definitely a plus. For one, because it's dry, it's less prone to bacterial and so its shelf life (at least I believe) is longer, especially if you use the scooper to take the powder out and not your fingers. I like how I can be creative using the powder form. A lot of people like to use toner to mix with the powder. I've used lemon juice. I think you can add other powder (pearl powder, etc.), and other juices and all other sorts. I'm sure you can even cut up your own fresh fruit and put it with the mask. So you can totally be creative and not have to use the same mask all the time. - For me I think it does work. I mean, it's not a miracle mask. But it does its job in cleaning my pores and tightening them a bit. - It's natural! C'mon, I love Burt's Bees because they're all relatively natural and/or organic products. You don't feel guilty putting excessive harsh chemicals on your face. - I don't quite remember the price, but I don't remember it being too crazy. I think it was a reasonable price and you only need a little powder each time you use it so it lasts a while. Cons: - I'm not a big fan of the smell (minty), and it's sometimes too tingly. But overall these seemed more minor to its actual product. - Like I said, it's not a miracle face mask so it's definitely not something you use to fix anything, or improve anything significantly.

Skincare - Face -Pro Activ - 3-Step System
doedoechachacha 7/17/2009 11:44:00 PM
Pros: - For me, it works. I don't break out hardcore, but I do break out especially during my period, and I will stop my other routines to use this. I really like the cleanser because I think it's the most effective part - scrubbing into the skin and getting those benzoyl peroxide guys into there. I've used other benzoyl peroxide cleansers without the little beads inside them and found that there is a difference without them. - I think the mask thing works too. I don't really take care of individual pimples when I break out. Once I had a huge pimple and I just kind of left it, and my boyfriend insisted I put on that little mask thing on it for the night. So I did, and it really did go down significantly the next morning. Cons: - It's expensive. I mean, it's basically just benzoyl peroxide and beads for the cleanser. The lotion is also just benzoyl peroxide. And the toner is just witch's hazel and some other stuff. For what it costs, it's pretty expensive. You can get benzoyl peroxide over the counter for much cheaper. So I have been toying with the idea of just buying a cheaper benzoyl peroxide cleanser and just adding some sugar as the beads. - I don't really like the way the toner feels on my face. It's a little heavy in my opinion and doesn't feel like it's cleansing my skin. - The last step, the lotion tends to over-dry my skin. So all in all, I would probably just re-buy the cleanser because that's what seems to be doing it for me. So with all the cons, why did I give it a 4? Because I really do feel like the cleanser works, and at the end of the day, that's what I'm trying to get out of a cleanser for acne. Plus, it definitely works for my boyfriend (the entire 3-step process, not just the cleanser). And I would buy this product again only because personally, I don't use it often enough for me to be upset about the price.

Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - Extra Virgin Olive Oil
doedoechachacha 7/17/2009 11:19:00 PM
Pros: - Great for removing makeup. I wear makeup everyday and I hate the idea of infusing my face with chemicals from day to night. It's really nice to be able to take my makeup off without that feeling. - Even duals as a moisturizer. I don't really wear this to sleep - it might be too oily for my taste, but I've left it on after removing my makeup for hours before because I'd be too busy to wash it off right away. When I do wash it off, I definitely feel a difference in my face as it'll feel softer and even cleaner. - Great as a face mask! I use this sometimes to exfoliate with some sugar or maybe even coffee grind and it works great. - Great as soap! As you can see... this is a multi-purpose product! I love love love olive oil soap bars. I'm sure they're different than just regular olive oil, but I'm sure you can google home-made soaps made from olive oil that work awesome. - Great price, and very easily accessible. I paid maybe $7 for my olive oil, and I got one of the more expensive kinds. Plus, it's lasted me for a year now. Cons: - I guess if packaging is a big deal for you then one of the bad things is that the olive oil doesn't come in all fancy cosmetic packaging. I usually buy a huge olive oil and dump some into one of those bathroom jars I bought from ikea. Then I keep the rest of the olive oil in the kitchen for cooking. I guess you could improvise to your heart's content.

Moisturizers -Nature's Gate - Oh What a Night
doedoechachacha 7/17/2009 11:09:00 PM
I love love love this product. Pros: - Feels great on the skin. I'm a huge texture kind of person, so I don't like it when I apply lotion and it's runny, or too oily or, etc. But it's not too oily and not to dry. I love the creaminess and it just goes right into your skin without feeling burdensome - Smells great (like almost nothing). I hate products with heavy heavy smells, even if they smell like sweet like fruit. This one smells kind of walnutty maybe? But it really smells neutral. - Relatively cheap. I think I got mine for $20-26, which I think is reasonable given how much I like it, and I think the cream lasts a while - The packaging is nice. They give you this little scoop so that you can scoop it out of the jar without having to always dip your fingers in. - It's organic! At least I think it is... Organic or natural - either or, I love it. I am a big organic product person, and this hits a home run! Cons: - Honestly.. Can't think of any! I'd buy it again.

Treatments -Shiseido - White Lucent Brightening Serum
doedoechachacha 6/25/2009 1:09:00 AM
Aww.. So sad it didn't work. CAN SOMEONE TELL ME A GOOD WHITENING PRODUCT?!? I got this because someone who was helping me with my makeup highly recommended it. So, like a sucker, I bought it for $120 or so. I don't quite remember the price except that it put a dent in my wallet. Pros: - I like the way the cream feels, it applies well - I like the tubing and it helps me get out just enough Cons: - Well, packaging and everything is pretty much crap when your product doesn't work! I've still been applying it almost religiously everyday and I don't see any improvement. Sometimes I'd dab it on the freckles, rarely I'll smother it all over my face. I'd like to believe it's doing something.. but I think it's just my wallet saying that. - It's too expensive. C'mon Shiseido, at least make it work.

Treatments (Eye) -Burt's Bees - Naturally Ageless Eye Cream
doedoechachacha 6/25/2009 1:01:00 AM
I had such high hopes for this product.. I think it's been like.. quite a while since I first started using it. Maybe 2 months? I started getting these wrinkles under my eyes for the first time so I went out and got this cream. I'm a huge fan of organic or natural products so that's why I went with this one. Unfortunately... I don't think I saw it do anything! Pros: - Smells super yummy - I like the little container, it's pretty cute - It's made from natural products Cons: - I think it's expensive for what it is (doing nothing) - It feels kind of tacky when applying it and it's hard to rub into my skin.. I would have to rub it over and over again until it gets in there. Or, I'd have to just settle for the temporary white pastiness on my skin until it dries - It does nothing :(

Cleansers -Burt's Bees - Orange Essence Facial Cleanser
doedoechachacha 6/25/2009 12:54:00 AM
So I love organic or all natural products and what really attracted me to this product was that it's 100% organic! Truly, how cool is that?? Anyway, I gave it an overall 3 though because I guess, unfair to the product, it's just a tad too oily for me. It's not something I would use every night because it will probably congest my pores. On the bright side, I love the smell and that it's organic (the product tastes sweet on my lips). Pros: Organic!! What more can I ask for? -Nice smell -Easy to apply to face, feels nice while washing the face Cons: Too oily for me. - The problem with it being so organic though, I noticed, is that the cap tends to grow a slight mold around the part where it touches the tube. I guess it is too organic. - Like I said, It leaves my face slightly oilier so I don't like to use it everyday. But I do enjoy using it after exfoliating and doing a mini-facial on myself because by that time my pores are already cleared.

Eyeliner -Wet 'n' Wild - Mega Liner - Black
doedoechachacha 6/22/2009 1:53:00 AM
I love this product! I buy like 6 at a time because I have to wear eyeliner like everyday. Pros: Very black... Color is awesome (I've used other more expensive eyeliners that aren't black enough and I have to go over the line several times to get the same effect). Dries quickly. I don't know if I'm used to the applicator already, but I feel like I get the cleanest line from this eyeliner compared to others. Line isn't too thick or too thin. Freaking cheap!! I have to wear eyeliner everyday and this really does it for me. Washes off with water. Because I have to wear eyeliner everyday, I hate having to literally scrub it off my eyes (esp. if I don't have access to makeup remover). This is super easy to remove with just a cotton pad and some water. It doesn't really smear when I wear it. I've used others that smear and then start rubbing off onto the bottom of my eyes. I've used the NYC brand and it literally cracks off my eyes (it dries and becomes all crackily by the end of the day). Cons: Because it washes off with water, I've cried while wearing it and not only did my tears wash away my eyeliner, but the eyeliner ended up on my neck and chest. It washed off though, later. So it might not be good if you expect to cry or sweat a lot.
