Candles -Yankee Candles - Sun and Sand
dmac085 5/21/2007 7:35:00 PM
I am in love with this scent. I first tried the tarts and the scent throw was great. I bought a pair of the 22 oz jars and the throw wasn't as great. It isn't an in your face fragrance to begin with but if they could improve the throw on the candle I would buy more candles. I will continue to buy the tarts in this scent. Probably going to stock up since it sounds like a seasonal fragrance.

Mascara -L'Oreal - Telescopic
dmac085 4/15/2007 8:06:00 PM
I have fairly thick but short lashes which are usually very easy to get good mascara coverage/length on. This brush is weird--has only 4 rows of combs which oddly enough can hold a huge glopping amount of product. I ended up with about 4 spiked bunches of lash and even though I have fairly long lower lashes--this stuff gunked them up too. The throat of the tube that pulls off some of the excess mascara as you pull the wand out for use needs to be alot smaller to clean the mess off the wand and even then I doubt it will make a difference. Cannot stress enough not to bother with this variety--not worth the time and effort it will take you to repair your eyemakeup.

Skincare - Body -Bath and Body Works - Flowering Herbs body lotion
dmac085 6/15/2006 9:10:00 PM
This is my alltime favorite of all of Bath & Body Works fragrances. I got compliments all the time. It's funny but they couldn't describe the scent, just that I smell "very fresh and clean, like right out of the shower." To me this is a very uplifting scent. In the summer I'd keep it in the refrigerator for an extra boost. I'm very pleased that it was revived and available. Today I received a notice of a $3 offer on some of the body sprays so I'm stocking up =)

Fragrances -Issey Miyake - L'Eau d'Issey Soothing Night Fragrance
dmac085 1/15/2006 11:04:00 PM
I like the original and heard good things about this one. I picked it up on eBay for about $10 so it was a deal. It seemed light to me. I don't wear strong perfumes so all of mine are light aquatics, florals or citrus/green scents and this one fit right in. It sort of reminded me of those soothing nighttime baby products. The only thing I didn't care for was the shape of the bottle, it's awkward to grip and spray. I must have worked that out though since I've got to buy some more:)

Lip Treatments -SoftLips - Lip Protectant
dmac085 1/14/2006 8:27:00 PM
I've used this for about 7 years now and love this balm. Its soft and very smooth to apply. It isn't sticky or glossy, just smooth and natural. After seeing some of the other reviews I think I'll have to go shopping around. I've only ever been able to buy the cherry/mint or the vanilla. I think the price is reasonable since it seems to be a slightly more "fancy" product than say a standard tube of Blistex or Chapstick. Good stuff.

My brother actually got me to try this years ago. I am still using it and it's my favorite pot balm. It's not too thick or sticky. I couldn't find it for awhile after I moved and was about to panic but finally found a place that sold it. Good stuff!

Primer/ Corrector -Bare Escentuals - Bare Vitamins Skin Rever Upper
dmac085 11/19/2005 8:46:00 PM
I like the product. I tried it on a whim and was surprised when I actually used it daily. I don't think that it was a necessity to using BE products but my skin did look more even toned when I used it. As it was a whim purchase, I haven't replaced it when I ran out. I am not a moisturizer girl so it just didn't seem that important to replace. I'm still using BE makeup and feel that I get even coverage without the ReverUpper.

Eye Shadow -Bare Escentuals - Glimmer- Bare Skin
dmac085 11/19/2005 8:32:00 PM
I finally have to repurchase! It has taken me a little over 2 years to finish this product. For that reason I marked dirt cheap--that's alot of product. Overall I've been very happy with all of my BE items but this glimmer has been my favorite. The color is sheer and shimmery but looks alot richer if applied with a damp sponge applicator. I purchased Bare Skin and Celestine at the same time and Celestine is beautiful but still full.

Cleansers -Carley's Clear & Smooth - Soap
dmac085 8/14/2005 1:05:00 AM
True to its claim...its not pretty. I didn't intend to buy soap, just the scrub and moisturizer and they threw in 2 free bars. I LOVE the soap. My skin isn't prone to huge breakouts but I really do feel that this soap has helped improve the condition of my skin. I use the scrub only once a week or less when needed but use the soap daily. It lathers nicely and rinses clean. My skin is softer and more smooth than it's been since I was a kid. I may not continue with the scrub but I'll always use the bar soap.

Treatments -Carley's Clear & Smooth - Skin Treatment - Cleanser

I've had breakouts almost constantly since I hit puberty. Mom told me the lie that it would magically end when I was out of my teens. Well here I am at 38 buying acne stuff:)! I tried one scrub and the moisturizer. They threw in a couple of the bars of soap also. My breakouts have been mainly around my jawline and have lessened in the severity over the years but I still get pimples and some of the deeply buried painful ones as well. I LOVE the soap. I drank the Kool-Aid and bought 5 more bars immediately. I used the scrub steadily for about 2 months, still have 1/3 of the bottle. Now I only use when I have flair ups. I don't have perfect skin but I DO have BETTER skin than I had before trying this product. The seller is honest and doesn't claim to have the answer to everyone's skin issues and offers a fair refund policy. I wouldn't think to call this out at a scam or untrue anymore than I would call out the 90's AcneStatin or ProActive as frauds because neither worked for me. I think if you have been sensitive to scrubs in the past you may not want to try this or if you have raw painful acne. Try the soap alone though, it is an awesome product all by itself.

Conditioner -Unlisted Brand - Paves Deep Conditioning Shine Milk
dmac085 8/14/2005 12:33:00 AM
I bought this yesterday on sale, buy 1 get 1 free, and got bonus packs so I ended up with 4 different products for a whopping $6.41! Even at full price for single bottles I'd buy it again. I tried it tonight and love how my hair dried. The shampoo rinsed very cleanly and I was surprised how well the conditioner distributed through my hair. I am guilty of more is better with most conditioners. I have thick almost waist length hair and used a half dollar size squirt of the Shine Milk and it spread through very nicely. The scent is not a selling point but to me it just smelled like a fresh herb garden. The fragrance disappears once hair is dry. I found my hair easy to comb through and it dried soft and full. I'm a ponytail and claw clip girl (bad 80's hair overkill reaction) but I may whip out the curling iron and give my free mousse a whirl. I really do like this line and intend to use it until my hair demands a change.

Shampoo -Unlisted Brand - Paves No Sulfates Allowed Repairing Shine Shampoo
dmac085 8/14/2005 12:23:00 AM
I went to our newly opened Walgreens looking for this line based on the reviews I found here. They were running a sale, buy 1 get 1 free, and I managed to snag the last two bonus packs on the shelf. So I ended up with the shampoo, conditioning milk, red carpet styling mousse and the hairspray for the crazy price of $6.41!!! Gotta love that...just tried it tonight and I love both shampoo and conditioner. It lathered fine and the scent is like true herbs to me. My hair is thick, wavy, medium texture and color treated and down to my lower back, so I used about a half dollar size dollop. The scent does not linger once hair is dry. Used with the conditioner my hair is soft but not weighed down feeling like with some other lines I've used. Tomorrow I'm trying the mousse...but for now I've got a new shampoo.:)

Fragrances -Bare Escentuals - Escentual eau de parfum
dmac085 6/22/2005 9:44:00 PM
I did the QVC thing too, I'll try it and send it back if I hate it. It's kinda scary buying a fragrance without getting a whiff of it first, but I ended up keeping the perfume and the three bath products as well. I'm still surprised because I tend to stick almost exclusively to herbal, fresh, aquatic and citrus type scents. This one is sweet, some floral, some fruit and I think the "other" scent I'm smelling must be the tonka bean. It's a weird buttery chocolate that sorta reminds me of expensive toffee. I also tend to categorize this as a fall/winter scent because with so much going on it tends to seem a bit heavy. Did recieved lots of compliments, but not while it was "fresh"...about 6 hrs later when I thought it had worn off and I couldn't smell it anymore. I always have to have some on hand if the warm and sweet mood hits. It's currently $32 for a 2 oz. bottle and rarely goes on any sale and always sells out during the BE segments on QVC.

Fragrances -Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab - Titiana
dmac085 4/7/2005 8:20:00 PM
I really love this one. It's going on my 5ml list. I like all of the notes that were in the BPAL description...heck I didn't even know snapdragons had a scent! I wear spring/summer scents year round...warm intense scents don't work on me. This is a bit louder (and I don't even think that's the right word to describe it) than I thought it would be. I guess I didn't think white grape and pear were so fragrant. Try it.

Arrived in my first imp order. This is a really nice fruity floral. There is a tart background note...the wine I guess. Another great spring/summer scent.
