Eye Shadow -BeneFit Cosmetics - Velvet Eyeshadow Where There's Smoke
dlkarp 3/27/2011 3:34:00 PM
I agree...a lovely velvety eyeshadow..which really makes green eyes POP. I use with my creaseless eyeshadow from benefit in a shade called Birthday Suit. I apply with my talent brush to the eyelids (adding a little to the corner of my eyes) and then apply this shade with my fluff brush in the creases...and then add some liquid liner :-) really nice result and excellent staying powder!!

Eyeliner -BeneFit Cosmetics - Badgal Waterproof Eyeliner

I am always one of those people who admires everybody elses eyeliner and can never do it myself. I never used eyeliner and if I did I would always have to correct myself with a q-tip. I tried this and the Bobbi Brown gel liner. The Bobbi Brown gel was good for about 2 weeks and then dried out-making it impossible to use. This eyeliner however worked perfectly!!It glides on effortlessly and its sooo easy to do a very fine line and a thick line. Its very smooth in its consistency and so easy to apply.I also find that (as long as you use the smudger to go over your line) it can last all day. I am really pleased with this benefit product. Five stars from me.

Mascara -L'Oreal - Extra volume - collagene
dlkarp 4/9/2009 11:48:00 AM
I am so not impressed with this mascara. It was between the Max Factor false lash effect and this one (with the gorgeous Eva Longoria advert) and as this mascara was on offer I decided to purchase it. Oh did I make the wrong choice. I have never put mascara on (and Ive tried some crappy mascara) and never seen any effect. Its soooo bland and just pointless...The brush is also like a giant bumble bee which causes all your lashes to stick together. It also dries really quickly which makes putting extra layers on really difficult. I will not be buying again...

Eyeliner -BeneFit Cosmetics - Eye Bright

When I first bought this pencil I thought it was the bees knees. I applied it to the corners of my eyes and it gave them an instant *pop*. I used it every morning and was so happy that while everybody looked like walking zombies...I looked fresh eyed and awake and only I knew how!!!!However, after multiple uses I found the formula to be really drying, scratchy and obvious...I was devestated cos I thought I had found my HG under eye concealer..it was even featured on Carmindy's fantastic five minute face, so I was really upset that I have had to stop using this. I now use MAC's eyeshadow in SHROOM as a highlighter and if I apply that to the corners of my eyes, it gives the same effect as this pencil.

Treatments -Elizabeth Arden - Eight Hour Cream

This is probably a product I could live without and a definate luxury..but it just makes me feel sooooo posh using it. Although lots of people swear to using this on their face, I found it to be too rich and thick for my sensitive skin. It is however, perfect for lips and nail cuticles. It is a lovely moisturising balm and gives the most perfect shine to your lips. I also found another fantastic use for it...when I burn myself cooking or from the oven..this is the miracle cream to heal the little burns you get.The only downside is it does have a medicinal smell to it which isnt the best!!!Overall, if your looking for a product to spoil yourself, and looking for something to moisturise lips, give it a try.

Blush -BeneFit Cosmetics - Posietint
dlkarp 5/29/2008 4:10:00 PM
As an avid benefit fan..I had to try this as soon as it came out....(It does not dissapoint in packaging) Also,on the website up until 6th June...when you type in POSIETNT You get free delivery..so its easy to be tempted... MMM so onto the actual product..I love love love!!!I so wanted to feel the same about benetint(£22.50)-its sister product, but being quite pale skinned..the red cherry tint was none too flatterring on me. So to my avail...Benefit brought out a pink tint and ooooo It sooo works. Its a definate thumbs up!!! I must admit, it is quite a vibrant pink, but once blended it gives the perfect flushed look...I tried the three strips look and I must admit I couldnt seem to blend it quick enough and could blantantly still see the stripes!!So, I decided to use a cotton bud to apply the stain and that worked MUCH better for me I dip the bud in the product and then kind of work it around my cheek then give it a final blend... I say a winner from Benefit and worth giving a try!!!!

Blush -BeneFit Cosmetics - thrrrob

Ok, so I have to admit it..I bought this blush soley on how *pretty* the packaging was and even though the MA warned me off this colour for fairer skins I just had to have it. ..I must say however, that I have worn this blush everyday since purchasing it and love love love the effect it gives. It makes you look glowing from inside (I think its the slight shimmer that actually benefits and enhances this product) and so healthy. This blush also looks good in pictures..I recently had a wedding to attend and I looked a picture of health (baring in mind I had a few cheeky glasses of champs) It is a very subtle blush, but I prefer this over my richer MAC blushes and I can layer the blush to get a daker shade...Overall this is one of my favourite picks and one that lives up to its gorgeous packaging!!!

Blush -BeneFit Cosmetics - 10
dlkarp 5/11/2008 2:50:00 PM
Wow I just loved the packaging, its just a shame that the product did not live up to its pretty look or my expectations. After reading all the rave reviews on MUA I decided to give it a shot...After all how can you not purchase something that claims to give you cheekbones without a diet in sight??? oh dear *sigh* this was not the one for me. Not only did my face look orange and particulary/unecssarily shiny but like the reviewer below said, when you brush the duo on, it contours your cheekbones rather unaturaly and looks too low down. Also, on my fair complexion, the colours were far to harsh and obvious. Perhaps on darker skintones this would provide a more subtle glow, but I think for fairer tones, High Beam does a better job to illuminate...

Treatments (Eye) -Garnier - Skin Renew Anti-Puff Eye Roller
dlkarp 3/17/2008 3:25:00 PM
I had to try this product as soon as I saw the advert....I am always on the look out for little cheats that help you look better in the mornings....and at last I have found one!!I must admit, as it was a drug store brand and certainly has its gimmicky products (that havent been too successful) I had low expectations...However, I absolutly love it. Not only is it lovely and cooling when you apply but I have actually seen a difference. (The roll on is so convienent and dries really quikly, not one bit greasy like some eye serums) It definatly helps de-puff eyes and smooths the skin. I also have really sensitive skin, and this hasnt irritated the delicate eye area :-) I would recommend this product and at the moment it seems to be on offer :-)

Tinted Moisturizer -BeneFit Cosmetics - You Rebel Lite Tinted Moisturizer SPF 15

Upon using this product for the first time I loved everything about it...the packaging, the thickness, the coverage, the perfect colour match on my NC20 complexion etc. However, upon subsequent uses it seemed to not suit my sensitive skin :-( such a shame as I thought I had found a great product.

Primer/ Corrector -BeneFit Cosmetics - That Gal
dlkarp 2/22/2008 2:48:00 PM
I so wanted to love this product I really did....I loved the packaging and the *that gal* campaign at Sephora...I'd even watched makeovers on QVC using this and there was no stopping me buying this. I was so excited the day it arrived and thought it would be the anwser to my make up routine and would wake my whole face up. However, on me it only gave me a greasy face and did nothing to *brighten* my complexion. I'd tried it both under and on top of makeover and seemed to get the same effect. In fact, today at work two people commented that I looked tired (loving that gal a lot less after that!!)

Accessories -BeneFit Cosmetics - Lana Bag
dlkarp 2/14/2008 3:06:00 PM
My bf bought me this for a Valentines day gift and I absolutly love it. It fits all my benefit things in a treat and theres still room for more!!!(this shows just how much space there really is) Even my bf was suprised at just how roomy it is!!The lana Pic is gorgeous and the background colour is so vibrant and loud :-) Right now it is sitting next to my Gabbi Bag which is equally lovely. This bag is a must for Benefit junkies like me!!!!!!I know it is expensive but its the perfect accessory to fit and store everything in. (Ps these bags are also great as you can wipe down any make up stains or spills)

Highlighters -BeneFit Cosmetics - High Beam
dlkarp 2/4/2008 1:56:00 PM
OMG how have I been using Benefit products for so long and never tried this little beauty before. Ive used Moon Beam for years and loved it but always thought High Beam would be too much. Didnt want to walk roud like a shiny disco ball. But after using for a month now this is my HG highlighter for brow bone and cheekbones!!!After watching Carmindys five minute face I had to rush out and get this and its truly wonderful the key to looking good in a rush is highlighting!!!t really brings your look together-whether its day or night time look.I use ooh la lift under my eyes and then three drops of this on my cheek bone and my brow bone. It leaves an etherel glow. Also, when I'm going out I add a bit to my cupids bow and down my nose. I also team it with a light hand of dallas.

Concealers -BeneFit Cosmetics - Lemon Aid
dlkarp 2/4/2008 1:42:00 PM
I think this product is overpriced for what it does-or what it *claims* to do. I orginally purchased the realness of concealness palette for this little fake it delicacy but I must say, I hardly reach for it and much prefer Ooh La Lift under my eyes teamed with Highbeam on my brow&cheek bone to give me that really awake look. Although Lemon Aid DOES conceal redness well, it just looks dull and dare I say a little unflattering on me. Whenever I wear this and look in the mirror I just think pfffft rather than wow. Its so matte and doesnt *lift* or make my eyes *pop*. I think if I ever do have days where my eyes are sore or puffy and im desperate to even the colour out I would use this, but never with my normal make up look.

Highlighters -BeneFit Cosmetics - Valley Of The Stars Palette
dlkarp 1/23/2008 2:16:00 PM
Love love love this palette. The box is also so adorable, it makes me happy just looking at it. Packaging aside, the products are perfect too. Ive always liked high beam and moon beam used on my cheek and brow, but the little bottles mean I can use them on the go. With this palette you can make the look as natural or as sparkly as you want. I personally love the eyeshadows. The white is a perfect highlight for the corner of your eyes and above the eye. The white also works to really set the gold eyeshadow off :-) I use a liquid eyeliner over the top to finish the look off. I feel like a princess with this kit, its the ultimate palette to get that irridencent look. It really goes with my dark brown hair and green eyes too.
