Lip Gloss -Victoria's Secret - Beauty Rush Lip Gloss In Toasty Almond
rated 5 of 5
dior_duchess 7/10/2006 2:24:00 PM

Another winner by the Beauty Rush line. Toasty Almond is a lovely sheer golden color with some shimmer. It smells absolutely FANTASTIC and only costs $7. I repeat- $7!!! The quality (and quantity) of these glosses surpasses even MAC (never thought I'd say this!) and costs half the price! Any *true* lipgloss aficionado cannot pass these up. Beauty Rush has renewed my faith in the cosmetics industry!

Lip Gloss -Victoria's Secret - Beauty Rush Passion Fruit Pop
rated 5 of 5
dior_duchess 7/10/2006 2:20:00 PM

Passion Fruit Pop is gorgeous, high-quality and at $7US, I don't really know how anyone could pass it up. It's a medium pink shade, with a hint of mauve but nothing too murky. It goes on sheer and incredibly shiny, and stays for hours. The colors and pricing of the Beauty Rush lipglosses are insurmountable, and I would recommend them to anyone!

Lip Gloss -Victoria's Secret - Beauty Rush Lip Gloss in Piece of Cake
rated 5 of 5
dior_duchess 7/10/2006 2:16:00 PM

Wow! Who wouldv'e thought a lingerie company like Victoria's Secret would be able to throw together such an awesome line of lipglosses? These are BY FAR my new favorite glosses, and I'm totally picky. I was apprehensive about buying these, thinking they would be thin and messy like the "Sweet Talk" glosses- but they're totally chic and don't leak AT ALL! Anyways, Piece of Cake is a quality lipgloss- it's a great consistency and stays on FOREVER, the price can't be beat and the color is *gorgeous*, even it is looks kind of pale and frosty in the tube. I'm a GGG, so pale shades work well on me, and Piece of Cake really looks stunning. The best news is that, while it's a lighter shade than most people are used to wearing, it's not SO pale that it's unattractive or obnoxious. Take my word for it- you won't be disappointed!

Lip Treatments -Too Faced - Lip Injection Extreme
rated 3 of 5
dior_duchess 3/18/2006 3:55:00 PM

This product, as far as I can tell, does what it is marketed to do, and absolutely nothing else. My lips looked noticeably bigger after a few minutes of this gloss, but on the other hand, this gloss is *extremely* thin and quickly evaporates, as does the plumping capacity. If it had more substance, such as the regular Lip Injection, I wouldn't feel so cheated, but the quality of this really does not justify the price (nearly $30), nor is it a big enough tube to last a decent amount of time. To top everything off, the tube LEAKS, which explains why after only a week of owning this, half of it is already gone! Disappointing...

Lip Gloss -Urban Decay - Shot-o-gloss in cosmopolitan
rated 4 of 5
dior_duchess 3/18/2006 3:48:00 PM

This gloss caught my eye primarily because it's my favorite color- a sheer, shimmery bubblegum pink which I assumed would smell like cosmopolitan, but since I've never had one I don't really know whether it does or not. Anyways, this gloss looks very pretty on, had a nice shimmer to it, but isn't shiny or long-lasting enough to compare to some higher-end brands, such as MAC or Lancome. I'm crazy about the color so I wear this shade often, but I would prefer something more dependable.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Shadestick-Overcast
rated 2 of 5
dior_duchess 3/18/2006 3:44:00 PM

I'm going to have to agree with previous reviewers who shaved off some points for the "chunkiness" factor, which I had a slight feeling this product would have but decided to purchase it anyway. It may be pretty and have some merits as a e/s base, but it simply *does not* apply evenly, and is a b**ch to wear alone because not only does it crease like mad, it doesn't even really show up on my skintone! Underneath a powder shadow, it isn't bad, but then again that's not really what I bought it for. Last time I buy one of these!

Lipstick -MAC - Lipstick in Plink
rated 5 of 5
dior_duchess 3/18/2006 3:40:00 PM

Omg...so, so pretty! Normally I stick to lipgloss, but when I saw this little number at the MAC counter, it was totally calling my name. I'm a total sucker for pink, *especially* baby pink, so I had to pick this up! Anyways, this lipstick is best described as a pale, shimmery pink with a *touch* of peach to it, not frosty at all but it does have a slight "chromy" look which makes your lips stand out. It is quite shimmery, so alone it could almost pass for a gloss. I would consider it Nymphete only in lipstick form. If you're a girly-girl (as I am), and are looking for a *true* pink shade (meaning no purple tints included), I would highly recommend.

Lip Gloss -MAC - Luxuriate
rated 5 of 5
dior_duchess 11/12/2005 2:20:00 PM

As far as originality goes, Luxuriate certainly isn't a stand-out, but when it comes to quality and utility, I'd say it's among the best "every day" glosses out there. It's a neutral, bronzy light brown with plenty of shimmer (but thankfully no glitter) that looks super shiny on and, like all MAC glosses, lasts a more than reasonable amount of time. While some may be bored with this trademark MAC "shimmery semi-nude pale brown that goes with anything" formula, I'm pretty happy with Luxuriate, even if it is remarkably similar to Precocious, which I also have.

Lip Gloss -MAC - Adventurous
rated 5 of 5
dior_duchess 11/12/2005 2:16:00 PM

I bought this on a whim because I, like many, am a total sucker for MAC limited edition glosses. Many a time have I tricked myself into buying one just for novelty's sake, but in this case I'm more than happy to oblige. Adventurous is simply gorgeous, and even more astounding is that under normal circumstances it would hardly seem my type. I usually can't pull off purple tones, but this pinky-mauve shade actually looks flattering on a the shimmer is stunning as well. I'm not familiar with MAC's Lovechild, but I'd say that if it's similar to Adventurous, I may have to buy it in the near future.

Lip Gloss -Hard Candy - Super Shine Lip Gloss - Piglet
rated 5 of 5
dior_duchess 10/15/2005 3:56:00 PM

This is one of the glosses that needs to be worn at the right time and place. It's NOT an everyday product. It looks crazy in the tube. Bright pink with red and purple microglitter is usually *not* my thing, but I was going for something a little different when I bought this. Luckily for me, it's not ridiculous once applied. In fact, it looks bubblegum pink with a little glitter- very pretty! The scent is nice, but after a while it makes me nauseous. It smells like cake frosting to me, which I'm not crazy about in real life either. Anyways, who cares. It lasts a while, and the container is actually really convenient. As cheap as Hard Candy usually is, their glosses are gorgeous.

Lip Gloss -DuWop - Venom Gloss in Buttercup
rated 4 of 5
dior_duchess 10/15/2005 3:51:00 PM

At first I was a little disappointed because this gloss has almost zero pigment when applied. If anything, it has a somewhat milky beige look, which is actually quite pretty *if* you can pull off nude glosses, which not everyone can. It sports a lot of shine, and lasts a long time. Wonderful scent, I must say. All in all, not bad because it's very versatile.

Lip Gloss -DuWop - Venom Gloss in LILY
rated 5 of 5
dior_duchess 10/15/2005 3:49:00 PM

This is my third foray into DuWop lipglosses and I'm rather impressed. The color looks medium rosy-brown in the tube, but when applied it appears much paler, though it definitely has some pigment, not to mention a ton of shine (which I love). It's nice for the "paler" months because it won't wash you out. I noticed some tingling and my lips looked a *little* bigger but not nearly as much as when I wear Lip Injection.

Lip Treatments -Too Faced - Lip Injection
rated 4 of 5
dior_duchess 10/2/2005 11:06:00 PM

Admittedly, I love Lip Injection in Techno Kiss and was aching to try the original formula. For the price, they could make the tube a bit bigger but everyone knows that whenever a gloss has so-called plumping capabilities its price automatically doubles. So anyways, it delivers. It's shiny, and goes on smoothly too. Very true to advertising, I must say. It's clear, though, so I doubt I'll be wearing it very often.

Lip Gloss -MAC - Spin Pink Lipglass Stain
rated 5 of 5
dior_duchess 10/2/2005 11:00:00 PM

At first I was a bit apprehensive about the mauvey tones in this gloss, but I soon realized that depending on how much gloss you applied, it doesn't really have all that much pigment. It's incredibly shiny and goes on very smooth, plus the staying power is superb. I prefer pinker glosses, but for what it is, it's exceptional. Definitely recommend.

Lip Gloss -New York Color - Liquid lip shine in clearly shiny
rated 3 of 5
dior_duchess 10/2/2005 10:53:00 PM

When I bought this, I'll admit I had slightly higher expectations than is necessary for NYC cosmetics. What I got was a disappointment. First of all, I was obsessed with clear gloss back in 8th grade. Nowadays, I mostly write it off as boring or redundant and vie for more sophisticated shades. But for $2, there's almost nothing I would pass up. Secondly, the wand *sucks*. You're lucky if you can get ANY gloss on your lips, and if you do, don't expect a substantial amount of shine, because this stuff is cheap. Longitivity? 28 seconds. Do yourself a favor and shell out the extra $1.50 for Bonne Bell or something, because this doesn't deliver.
