Other -Unlisted Brand - Colgate Optic White

This toothpaste actually works. It's a shame it aggravated my gums so badly. I had only used this toothpaste for a couple of weeks and saw results within a couple of days; my teeth were bright and beautiful. Though I had noticed that this started to make my gums bleed and become painful, something that rarely happens to me. As soon as I switched back to my regular toothpaste, my gums were healthy once again. And they aren't even sensitive! Perhaps it had to do with the hydrogen peroxide in this toothpaste. Overall, this product works, but take caution if it starts to aggravate your teeth or gums. I would rather good oral health over beaming white teeth.

Primer/ Corrector -Rimmel - Fix and Perfect Foundation Primer
diamond479 1/31/2013 5:51:00 PM
If you have a warm skin tone like me, do NOT buy this primer! I bought it after seeing '001' on the tube, thinking it was either white or clear. It is actually a dark orange/red colour. While it isn't too visible on the skin, it does add an even warmer tone to my skin, which I don't exactly need (I'm an NW25). In terms of staying power, I find that it doesn't do much in comparison to just using moisturiser alone. Overall, I'm not too happy about this primer.

Lipstick -Revlon - Colorburst Lipstick
diamond479 11/7/2012 5:00:00 AM
I have a few of these in various colours; 025 (Carnation), 070 (Soft Nude) and 096 (Petal). The packaging is beautiful and very upper-class looking. I like how the colours are displayed on the top of the lid. Carnation and Petal are hydrating, but Soft Nude seems to be very dry on my lips! I find that quite strange. Overall, while I think the colours are beautiful, they are not long-lasting for me. They have a tendency to slip off as soon as I eat or drink. Unfortunately, I won't be re-purchasing.

Lipstick -Chanel - Rouge Coco in Ruban Rose
diamond479 11/7/2012 4:49:00 AM
My first Chanel lipstick. This colour is the same as my natural lips, but brighter. I love its modesty; the majority of my lipsticks are pinks/nudes as I like keeping the lips a natural colour. I have found that this lipstick is hydrating and stays put for hours; even after eating and drinking! It has a pleasant rose scent to it. I will repurchase in other colours in the future, despite the price.

Tinted Moisturizer -MAC - Studio Moisture Tint SPF15
diamond479 11/7/2012 4:39:00 AM
My new HG foundation for work! I was using Studio Fix fluid and found it to be too heavy for everyday wear, so the MAC makeup artist recommended this. It provides a light coverage, which is all I need. It really has a lightweight feel to it. My face is lighter than my neck, and the Studio Tint blends everything in beautifully. As a guide, I am a Medium in the Studio Tint and a NW22/NW25 in the Studio Fix range. Overall, it gives a very natural, 'barely there' look, which is just what I wanted. Do not buy this product expecting a heavy coverage or to cover blemishes/acne! This is one of MAC's lightest foundations. Take a look at the Studio Fix range if you want something that's going to properly cover blemishes. While the Studio Tint is buildable, it's certainly not as strong as the Studio Fix fluid. However, if you're looking for a foundation that provides a light to medium coverage for everyday use, this is amazing.

Treatments -Sally Hansen - Diamond Strength Nail Strengthener (Clear)
diamond479 9/25/2012 6:07:00 AM
I use this as both a base coat and top coat. As a top coat, it provides an excellent shine with barely no bubbles, and dries within 10 minutes or so. In conjunction with using this product, I also file my nails to ensure that they stay strong. I have used this polish for the past two weeks and am very happy with the result so far. It is also very good at preventing early chipping, something that even my bottle of Seche Vite couldn't prevent! Feeling my nails now, they are almost as hard as a rock...and I put my nails through a lot, mind you!

Eyeliner -Revlon - Grow Luscious Lash Liner - 001 Onyx
diamond479 9/25/2012 5:51:00 AM
This eyeliner stays on all day, which is just what I want! It doesn't move around and smudge, but there is VERY minimal flaking sometimes. 'Onyx' is a true black colour that really stands out. The only downside is that it is a soft pencil, so it does become blunt a lot quicker than an eyeliner that you would twist for more product. I also find this very hard to remove, even with waterproof eye makeup remover. Despite a couple of minor issues, it is an eyeliner that truly stays put for hours on end.

Loose Powders -Australis - Ready Set Go Finishing Powder
diamond479 9/25/2012 5:46:00 AM
Yep, this really is a dupe of MAC's translucent finishing powder. I have had this on top of my make up all day, and my forehead and chin (which is always prone to become very oily) has stayed almost matte this entire time. Like MAC's variant, this loose powder can become very messy! It loses a lippy for the packaging. Still, for $12.99, this is certainly a much more affordable alternative to MAC's translucent powder, and is now my HG finishing powder!

Eyeliner -Maybelline - Unstoppable Eyeliner
diamond479 8/30/2012 7:15:00 AM
I haven't experienced any of the product breaking apart, though I have only used this eyeliner for about a week. I must have some sort of an allergic reaction to this as it makes small sections of my eyes red! Furthermore, after only a few hours of wearing this eyeliner, I find it clumps on the outer corners of my eyes, and small flakes form underneath my eyes. I thought this would be a cheaper alternative to MAC's graphblack eyeliner or Loreal's unfallible eyeliner as it promised a long-lasting wear, but I was certainly wrong here! In the bin it goes.

Primer/ Corrector -Napoleon Perdis - Auto Pilot Pre-Foundation Skin Primer
diamond479 8/28/2012 6:53:00 AM
I found this primer very hard to blend in, which is something I haven't experienced with other primers. The scent is very pleasant and reminds me of Lancome's 'Tresor' perfume. Keeps my foundation on my skin all day. In saying that, I have used other primers in the past that are half the price of this and still manage to keep my foundation looking fresh all day. To sum it up, I do think that there are equivalent primers out there that will do the job for a fraction of the cost of this.

Liquid -MAC - Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15
diamond479 10/23/2011 11:12:00 PM
First off I'd just like to say that I have been constantly trying out various powder and liquid foundations for YEARS and I have always had problems with breakouts, oiliness, oxidization, dryness...until this foundation. This actually WORKS. It provides enough coverage to cover my blemishes and the colour that I was matched with (NW25) is absolutely perfect. While it has a thicker consistency than most other liquid foundations I have tried, it feels so light on the skin. Best of all, it stays on throughout the working day, so I don't need to touch up every few hours. This is my new HG for foundation...finally!

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express The Falsies
diamond479 8/15/2011 5:39:00 AM
This mascara is AMAZING...if you know how to position the brush correctly. It took me a while to get used to the new, curved brush on this mascara and initially I was left with spider-leg, clumpy lashes. However, after experimenting with the brush a bit, I was able to successfully achieve the 'Falsies' effect that this mascara claims to make. Definitely now my favourite mascara, well worth a try, though it's all a matter of getting used to that brush!

Lip Gloss -Revlon - Super Lustrous Lipgloss - Nude Lustre
diamond479 6/4/2011 6:53:00 AM
One of the best lip glosses I have ever owned! The perfect colour for any skin tone, glides on easily and builds up a lovely nude colour very fast. Lasts all day and isn't sticky at all. Will definitely give the other colours a go soon!

Liquid -Revlon - PhotoReady Makeup - Vanilla
diamond479 6/4/2011 6:44:00 AM
I have this in Natural Beige (005), not the Vanilla, which I believe is the lightest shade you can get in the 'PhotoReady' series. Overall, this makeup gives brilliant coverage which doesn't come across as cakey. As others have said, this makeup does shimmer, which has its good sides and bad sides; a healthy glow is desirable but, if over-done, the skin can appear oily. For a drug-store liquid foundation, I find this brilliant. The pump is very convenient and gives out a consistent amount of makeup every time. The SPF 20 is definitely a bonus. The makeup itself is not too runny, is very blendable and can be applied with either a brush or your fingers. Well worth a try, however I don't recommend it for people with oily skin, unless they finish with matte powder.

Polishes -Unlisted Brand - Ulta3
diamond479 4/19/2011 9:29:00 PM
Normally I'm a little skeptical with cheap nail polishes, but I couldn't resist the 4 for $5 deal at my local chemist! Well worth the investment, they work nearly as good as some of my Revlon nail polishes. I use the white ('lily white') nail polish from this range for my french manicure and it works just great. Long lasting and even one coat is good enough since the colours are so strong!
