Fragrances -Prada - Prada Beauty Eau de Parfum

Wow, this was quite a surprise. I remember smelling this fragrance when it was first introduced to Bloomie's last year, and I was not impressed with it at all.

I recieved a bottle of EDP in gratis and actually wore it and I have completely changed my mind about it! This really is lovely and sophisticated, and has has been said on here, it is a woman's fragrance, not for girls!

I realise that the difference between American fragrances and European fragrances is that the American ones are much lighter (more alcohol, less perfume oil), so I know that this puts people off sometimes and they find European scents like this one too "strong" or "heavy".

You have to definetely be a lover of warm and spicy scents to appreciate this . It is slightly smoky, with a strong patchouli, sandalwood and amber body. The description says it contains orange, mandarin, mimosa, raspberry flower and rose absolute...but those notes are very faint on my skin, I don't detect much floral or frutiness to it. I find it extremely long-lasting, and I am very oily skinned (on the body) and super-acidic.

This is definetely not for everyone, if you wear a lot of soft, inoffensive and safe scents you probably will find this overpowering.

I can't wait for cooler weather to wear it more, it has a delicious warm and sensual quality! I like the way it's distinctive and doesn't dry down to a cheap, sweet smell. I would definetely purchase this, worth the money!

Treatments (Eye) -Dr. Hauschka - Eye Contour Day Cream
rated 5 of 5

Another recent find of mine that I am in love with!! This product is definetely not for everyone, I can completely see how it wouldn't work for people with normal/oily skin, very young women, or someone who wears a lot of makeup.

Fortunately, I am not any of those things, so it works so well for me!

In the dry heat and sun of Nevada, my skin has gotten extremely dry, and appears to have more fine lines suddenly. Every eye creme that worked fine in California, was suddenly too "light" here. I felt like all of the eyecremes I had previously been happy with absorbed very quickly, and didn't seem to hydrate my parched skin.

This product looks and feels like a lipbalm, and smells great. It makes the skin around my eyes soft, and keeps it hydrated. The fine lines have dissipated, arnd the feeling lasts all day. Definetely worth the money!

Moisturizers -Dr. Hauschka - Normalizing Day Oil
rated 5 of 5
diablina 6/4/2005 4:15:00 AM

I love this product!! This has one or two strange reviews, but I find it amazing. My skin has become oddly dry since moving to Nevada, with some extremely oily areas.

I have been using this for almost two weeks, and notice a real difference in my skin. It has given my skin a brighter and clearer tone, and softened a lot of dry lines I had suddenly developed.

My spots seemed to settle down too, the oil on oily skin theory works for me. My skin looks lovely and glowy after using this. The smell is fabulous, and you need very little, so it's a long lasting product.

The pump bottle is perfect, will definetely re-buy!

Cleansers -Dr. Hauschka - Cleansing Cream
rated 4 of 5
diablina 6/4/2005 4:07:00 AM

I've been using the whole Dr. Hauschka regimen for only about a week so far, and have already noticed HUGE improvement in my skin!

I am 35, with previously oily skin and large pores. Since moving to a desert climate, my skin has turned very dry and crackly!

I use this cleanser sometimes just in the morning, sometimes morning and evening. Since I don't normally wear any makeup, that's not a concern for me.

The texture is great, not rough or gritty at all. I try to do the rolling motion (although I'm not religious about it) and find my skin is looking so much better, it feels fresh and very clean without feeling stripped or dry.

It has a very nice smell, a combination of herbs and porridge. It keeps the large pores around my nose under control, and leaves my skin soft afterwards.

The only points I take off are for making the tube so small for the price! Other than that I highly recommend it for more mature/combination skin.

Lip Gloss -Bonne Bell - Dr. Pepper lipsmackers
rated 5 of 5
diablina 5/21/2005 7:44:00 PM

This is just one of those cheap and fun things that I can't get enough of. This costs under two dollars, and I have purchased tube after tube.

I live in a dry desert climate at the moment, and this is a quick fix for me. I keep a tube in my pocket and on my desk.

This balm gives a nice flushed colour to the lips. It's a cheap way to get that "just bitten" look. I like the funny smell, it does smell like Dr. Pepper!

It gives a good amount of moisture to my lips, I like the packaging, and I like the natural colour! Everyone should have one of these!

Polishes -Boots - No7 Stay Perfect Nail Colour
rated 5 of 5
diablina 5/20/2005 2:12:00 AM

I recieved this polish as an extra, and this is great! This formula is really smooth. It dries quickly and stays on!

The colour I have is Pearly Pink, which is a nice, sheer gold pink. The tiny brush is great, applies just the right amount of product.

Would definetely buy this in full size!

Fragrances -Demeter - Sticky Toffee Pudding
rated 5 of 5
diablina 5/20/2005 1:44:00 AM

I got this from one of my favourite MUA ladies and was not disappointed at all!! This was at the top of my wishlist for awhile, I couldn't wait to get it!

This smell is so delicious, and although it doesn't actually smell like sticky toffee pudding, it smells like 3 yummy scents combined. It reminds me of 1) sweetened condensed milk 2) buttered popcorn jelly beans 3) those burnt toffee peanuts they used to sell in the candy section of Sears.

I find this so comforting, the smell of sweets, I love a little spray of it after a shower.

I will definetely buy this again, the smell is sweet but not sickening and unlike other sweet scents, this doesn't have a gross synthetic smell.

Blush -MAC - Strada
rated 5 of 5
diablina 5/19/2005 10:20:00 PM

This is another severely underrated MAC colour! It looks very plain, no bells and whistles. Strada is a non-shimmery, pinkish beige that looks grey/pale in the pan.

Once you try it on, it's a completely different story!

This shade is perfect for a contour on the cheeks, gives lovely shape and definition.

This colour would work best on medium skintones.

Another great bridal colour, perfect with a little pop of Pinch O' Peach or Pink Swoon on the apples.

I hope they don't discontinue this, it's not the most exciting or trendy colour, but is a great neutral.

Will buy many more!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Eyeshadow in Malt
rated 5 of 5
diablina 5/19/2005 9:41:00 PM

This is one of the most underrated MAC shadows, and a well-kept secret! Most people don't pick this up because in the pan, it looks very plain. It is a light beigey pink with a very muted grey tone.

This is a fabulous crease shade, I use it to subtly define the crease without giving too much colour. Malt defines and contours, while never looking too dark or competing with other shades. It goes on a soft, slightly cool pink. It's an amazing bridal make-up colour, for use with other pinks or vanillas.

This colour works well to "anchor" down super frosty lid shades (such as pink freeze)

Really brings out light eyes, and can work on most medium range skin tones. I will definetely purchase this again, for myself and my kit.

Lipstick -MAC - Ramblin Rose Lipstick
rated 5 of 5
diablina 4/24/2005 1:21:00 AM

One of my HG lipsticks! I am a known peach-anything freak, and this lipstick is genius!

A very frosty pinky peach, this has a golden shimmer in it. Very brightening for an olive/warm skin! This gives just the right amount of colour and shimmer, never looks white or grandma-ish.

I wear this with Spice and clear gloss, and Pinch O Peach blush. For women of my colouring (NC35 yellow/olive, black hair), try this! It will make you look so petal-dewy and pretty!

Lipstick -MAC - Sandy B. lipstick
rated 5 of 5
diablina 4/24/2005 1:15:00 AM

One of the best colours and formulas EVER! I will seriously lose my rag if they discontinue this!

This colour is a soft, gold peach that really flatters my NC35 olive complexion. I have seen many women try this at the counter and love it!

It gives just the right amount of colour and shimmer. I wear it with Spice lipliner (the most natural for me) and clear gloss or Enchantress on top.

This is great for someone who likes a feminine but not too girly lipstick colour! Perfect! will buy again and again!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Vex
rated 3 of 5
diablina 4/21/2005 4:22:00 PM

This is a colour that I love for my kit, but not on me personally. I am NC35 olive/yellow undertones and on me, this looks so pale and ashy. It does nothing for my skin tone or my eye colour. I really have to work this into other greens/pinks to get it to look pretty.

That being said, I have seen this look gorgeous on some people. It is a pale silvery-grey with a green-pink duochrome.

On the right skintone, the duo chrome really shows up and gives a pretty pink-green combo. I think if you're fair or just have a lot of different eyeshadows to play around with, you'll like this.

This is something I would repurchase for professional (not personal) use.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Trax
rated 5 of 5
diablina 4/21/2005 4:17:00 PM

This is such a pretty colour! It is a medium red-plum with loads of golden bronze shimmer.

My favourite combo with this is a thin layer of Improper Copper CCB on the lid, with Trax packed over it. This brings out the bronze in it and makes it more intense.

I find this a lovely alternative to the traditional black or brown smoky eye. It really is a pretty and unique shade, particularly striking on blue or green eyes.

I have a back up one, and will re-purchase!

Blush -BeneFit Cosmetics - Dandelion
rated 4 of 5
diablina 4/21/2005 3:45:00 PM

This is a great blush for fairer skins. I can't wear this for myself, it's invisible on me (NC 35 olive skin), but like it for my kit.

The shade is a light mauvey pink with a teeny silver sparkle to it. On a PPP this looks so bright and fresh! The shimmer in it isn't overdone, very subtle!

Anyone who is fair and has cool skin tones will like this, the packaging is a little bulky for my liking, but it is big and lasts a long time.

Lip Gloss -MAC - c-thru lipglass
rated 5 of 5
diablina 4/21/2005 3:41:00 PM

Great colour! This gives you the ultra-nude lips of Alicia Keys in the "My Boo" video.

I like to wear this with Spice liner (on my lips, Spice is very natural..some people might like Stripdown or Oak to get really nude)

This is lovely when I want to take down my natural lip colour and really play up my eyes. I'm not bothered at all by the texture, and it is well worth the price!
