Crème -MAC - Mineralize Foundation

They always said cream foundation is not for dry skin. This product is the best evidence that this statement is not true. I thought tinted moisturizers, like Laura Mercier worked better with my dry skin. They look natural and are easy to blend. However any TM provide only sheer to medium coverage. In my research for a foundation compatible with my skin I failed with liquid ones in most major brands, either they look cakey when dries out, fake or waxy look plus messy and hard to blend, wich I dislike. This Mac Mineralize spf 15 cream foundation gives you a flawless look, so pretty, natural and light. PROS: Nice texture, easy to blend, not too dewy or matte, skin looks fresh,natural TIP: For Medium-full coverage Apply with foundation brush, paddle type (for dry skin avoid stipple, blush , kabuki brushes, they will make your skin flake in patches) For a more sheer, "just enough" coverage similar to aTM, apply with a wet sponge. Finish application by lightly buffing to blend with a clean beauty blender sponge, in circular motion. And WOW your face would be at its best. CONs: To my experience, so far, it doesn't last long. Probably 8 hours at most No much product. I love this product, it has very good quality and I highly recomend it for any person with dry skin. I don't think it works well for oily skin.

Brows -Smashbox - Brow tech

I love this product. I have it in dark brown and comes with 2 colors taupe and dark brown plus the wax. I was using Anastasia's and there is no much difference between both . This is a type of product that the brush or applicator used and the skills of the person will be more important than any brand chosen. PROS.- All in one package, ideal for traveling. 2 colors, soft texture, silky. Stays put CONS.- Don't see any yet TIPS.- Teams up great with Smashobox #12 double ended brow brush. Use the light powder to fill up the brows , go light handed on the ends near the nose bridge. Underline with the darker powder along the lower arc of the brow closer to the eye to define. Start brushing upwards the dark brown underline following the direction of the hair. Now define the upper arc of the brow with a fine line of the dark brown powder. Comb brows with spooly small sturdy brush to blend colors and to soften to a natural look. Apply wax lightly

My dry sensitive skin makes very difficult to find a foundation that would look natural and at the same time even out my skin tone and texture. Usually it will build up on patches and my skin would flake and believe me, cakey it's not a pretty sight. I always like to try products searching for the right one (still I am) but so far the best one and easier to blend is Laura Mercier TM. I wear in Nude, it will do the job, is kind of sheer to medium coverage, buildable, but that is what I like. PROS .- Easy to blend, long lasting, radiant polished finish, hydrating, nice texture, light feeling CONS.- No many color selection TIP.- I use a primer before applying it with a foundation brush. Then I blend it with slight round movements with a beauty blender sponge and it will look really polished radiant natural skin. If you have dry skin, never apply foundation with stipple or blush brush, they will make your skin flake; apply with a wet sponge for sheer coverage or foundation brush for medium + coverage,

Eyeliner -Bobbi Brown - Gel Eyeliner

I'm a cat eye fan. I always use and are looking for new eyeliners. The texture I like the most are gel eyeliners and of course high pigmentation,waterproof, staying power and easy glide are combination of qualities i'm trying to find. Went thru many brands from high end to drug store , not to thrilled about any of them until I found Bobbi Brown. WOW and double WOW, beautiful, sooo easy to apply, I got the sharpest and defined cat eye in a breeze. Stayed all day looking as just applied. Just fall in love of the product. Finally, I though, my research ended. However after 2 days of use my eyes became so itchy, red and uncomfortable. I wear contact lenses and I had to stop wearing them. I start reading BB gel eyeliner reviews and found many persons with similar experience. ;( Too bad, I really wanted to add this eyeliner to my regular makeup product.

Eye Makeup Remover -Make Up For Ever - Sens Eyes

The skin around my eyes are extremely sensitive and the fact I wear contact lenses makes me extra careful when choosing products for my eyes. My mascara and eyeliner, must be truely waterproof, no smudge, no flakey. I was using MAC eye makeup remover, but it was kind of oily. It was removing the make up, that's true, but then, removing the remover was another mission. I started searching and all removers had the same texture, oily. Make Up forever is a great product that gently does the job. Waterproof make up needs to be remove with oil, but this creamy product is so good for your skin and remove all traces of makeup, I use Qtips targeting my eyeliner and with a cotton pad I remove eyeshadows, and its done. It is very easy to remove any residue left of the product if any. I highly recommend this product, it is something good to have.

Pressed Powders -Pur Minerals - Universal Marble Powder in Pink

This is a good blush, depending in your skin tone. It will be very hard to overdo it since it is a very light glo with a hint of rose. PROS.- Natural looking, color in cool tone of rose, give smooth nice rosy finish. Mineral powder. CONS.- Not really great looking for the lips as advertised. I said I would buy the product again, just because it is not bad, but I like to try different blushes, so the next one would be something different, there are so many out there.

Mascara -Lancome - Definicils waterproof

I use this mascara because so far I cannot find any better. It does the job, but doesn't make the lashes look clean curled, with good lenght and volume added. CONS It will flake by the end of the day, give me racoon eyes, but not so bad. Hard to take off. PROS Nice wand, easy to apply. I will keep searching for a good mascara, I need waterproof for sensitive eyes. Any suggestions?

Eyeliner -Revlon - ColorStay Liquid Liner

I wish I could say something good about this product. I really wanted to get an inexpensive eyeliner that could do the job and I had high expectation on this. CONS It would smudge and it wouldn't stay put long hours, also it is hard to apply. PROS pigmented, inexpensive

Lip Gloss -Rimmel - Sweet Jelly gloss in Tasty

I like this lip gloss, smells and taste good. The shade is hard to find, in the tube looks plum but in the lips it is glossy with a touch of colour.. CONS wears out fast PROS Nice looking gloss HINT Apply first a plum lipstick and finish it with this lipgloss

Concealers -Physicians Formula - gentle Cover concealer(light)

This concealer is OK for light coverage . It glides and blends easily than many others and it doesn't look cakey. PROS.- Stick, not powderish finish, good for dry, sensitive skin, I realized it is water resistant. Blends well. CONS.- Light coverage, for light spots. TIPS.- Rub the concealer against the back of your hand to get some product and with a small concealer brush, apply to the spots you want to cover . It will be not noticeable. Buildable.

Concealers -Physicians Formula - Concealer 101 Perfecting Concealer Duo

I got the green/light duo to conceal my redness in my cheeks due to my mild rosacea. Also I wanted for my dark spots under my eyes. Since I have dry skin this product doesn't work for me. It is too dry. It is hard to blend and I end up pulling the skin of my eyes, and after so much work, it will make my wrinkles more noticeable, looking cakey and thick. On top of that the green concealer will give me a greenesh shade after I apply my foundation. I tried everything, blending with moisturizers, eye cream to make it glide smoother, but it wouldn't look good on me.

Bronzers -Smashbox - Bronze Lights - Sunkissed Matte

Good bronzer. I got in Suntan Matte. I wanted to contour my face with a bronzer that look natural and not shimmery, and I found everything that I wanted in this Smashbox bronzer. I love the package as well, its lid allow you to see how much of the product you still have. Easy to blend and smooth texture give you a great finish to your face.

I tried this product and wanted to like it, but I will return it to the store. I like the brush and how it glides between the lashes giving a uniform mascara coverage while combing and curling the lashes. CONS.- Flakes, give me racoon eyes

Eyeliner -Stila - Smudge Pot in Brown

This product works perfect for me. It is a high pigmented product and I like the variety of color Stila has. Has a soft creamy gel texture, that stays put long. I used liquid eyeliner for many years, but for many reasons I was not 100% happy, but this one, is gentle for my sensitive skin, easy to apply once you get the hand of it, and made my "cat eye" eyeline looking very define but not as hard as liquid eyeliner. I will buy again. CONS & TIPS.- 1) The product will dry and get hard. Put small amount in a separate small pot , better made of glass (I use the small cream sample containers that Lancome gives as a gift with purchase) for your every day use and refill it by small portions. Keep the original container with the lid closed tightly, in a plastic bag storage in a dark cool place ( I have it under my sink). It will last very long. When the surface get hard, just poke it and underneath you find more soft product. 2) It takes some practice to apply it right. I couldn't get a thin line using an angled eyeliner brush. I have 2 of them in different sizes, they draw a line that is too thick for me and it doesn't look define and clean, as you want for cat eye lining. TIP use a bent eyeliner brush, that will give a smooth define thin line and make very easy to apply this product. I hope this helps Helen031, the product you got, probably has been too long in the shelf. It shouldn't be hard, it should be creamy-gel .

Primer/ Corrector -Clarins - Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch

This is a great product, but all depends how and how much you apply to your face to get the right results. It is a light texture cream that spreads really easy and covers open pores, reduce wrinkles, all by filling them. It makes a great primer, great for the eyes area. It solved my problem with foundation and powders that would sink in my pores around my nose and cheeks. TIPS.- I apply this primer only in my problem areas, around the eyes, nose and the cheek area close to the nose where I have some lines and more opened pores. For all the rest like forehead, side of the face,mouth, etc I use a cheaper primer, like Revlon. This way this product would last long. CONS.- So far don't see any.
