Shampoo -Suave - Radiant Brunette
rated 5 of 5
deweydrop 4/3/2007 2:02:00 PM

This stuff is NOTHING like John Freida brilliant brunette shampoo/conditioner...as John Frieda is CRAP and this stuff is WONDERFUL. My hair is so bouncy and so shiny after using this shampoo and conditioner...I have had pretty good luck with Suave shamps/conds...and for less than $2 a bottle, I don't mind trying out new kinds. this one is DEFINITELY a keeper though.

Lip Gloss -Maybelline - Shine Seduction [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
deweydrop 2/1/2007 1:43:00 PM

I'm normally a Maybelline hater, but I'm thrilled with these lip glosses. My only gripe, is I wish they put the name of the color on the packages! I own 3 of these...410, a sparkly peachy color, 710 a sparkly rosey color, and 620, a glossy nude with no sparkles. I love all 3 of these! The price was right (under $6). The staying power is standard for any drugstore gloss (IMO). The shine is beautiful...not a vinyl shine, but more of a wet-ish shine. But what I really love about these, is the applicator. 2 or 3 clicks is all I need for the perfect amount of product. I haven't had any issues with gushing/leaking. The slanted tip makes applying these glosses a dream. I would definetly repurchase these...for the price and color selection, you can't beat them.

Lip Gloss -Cargo - North Pole Lip Quad
rated 5 of 5
deweydrop 11/20/2006 10:22:00 AM

I was VERY impressed with this lip gloss quad. It looked so pretty online, but I had to try it out in person to be sure. All the colors, I feel, are VERY wearable and perfect for the Holiday season (bit of sparkle in them!) The gold one is my favorite out of the 4. You do have to use a lip brush with this though...if you use your finger, you will be in for a big mess. (As I learned with the red gloss!) This was my first Cargo gloss purchase...but I'm definetly interesting in trying others in the line. Big thumbs up from me!

Polishes -OPI - Black Onyx
rated 5 of 5
deweydrop 11/7/2006 2:37:00 PM

OPI Black Onyx is a perfect cream black. It really does look like a black onyx stone on my nails! I highly reccommend a base coat with this...and even after I removed the polish, my nails were kinda 'grey' for a while. But hey - it's black polish...you run the risk! I think this is a very classy black color (no shimmer/glitter), and was found perfectly acceptable at my desk job. I got this for retail price on eBay...only place I could find it.

Bronzers -Stila - Sun Gel
rated 5 of 5
deweydrop 7/24/2006 11:39:00 AM

I saw a rave for Stil Sun Gel in a magazine and decided to buy it sight-unseen. This stuff is amazing! I keep it with my morning moisturizer (I use Dove), put some moisturizer on my fingers, a dab of Stil Sun Gel, mix it up a bit and apply all over as I normally apply moisturizer. Done! It blends in so well and gives my whole face a great "pick up" of color! No bronzer needed, a touch of blush, some mascara, and that's IT in the dead of summer. I think this may be too much for my pale winter skin, but this works GREAT for getting an even 'tan' on my face/neck. The price is kinda high, but I think this tube would last a long time...would definetly repurchased if I ran out!

Styling Products -Frederic Fekkai - Wave Creating Spray
rated 4 of 5
deweydrop 1/3/2006 7:58:00 AM

I actually LOVE this product. My hair is kinda "weird wavy" when dried naturally...but this stuff REALLY helps me get a great wavy look without using a heated appliance. I dry my hair until 80% dry, apply this stuff all over (yes - smells like a pine tree, but doesn't last), then "scrunch" my hair while hitting it with medium heat from the dryer. After, I give it another all over spray and then split my hair into 4 sections, twist them up into mini buns, and clip them with mini-claws and apply my makeup. After my MU, I unclip/unwind the mini-buns and have GORGEOUS waves ALL DAY. I do apply a bit of "frizz fighter" (either Dove leave in or FF glossing cream) just to smooth it all out. I love this stuff and will definetly repurchase. I only took off 1 lippie because this stuff is so expensive (but so much better then "beach blonde's wave stuff)

Hair -Beyond The Zone - Beach Head Blonde Spray-In Lightener
rated 5 of 5
deweydrop 7/2/2005 8:15:00 AM

This stuff works REALLY well. I have naturally dark blonde/light brown hair with red undertones and this spray really brings out some great color when I use it! I like how it's a spray and it doesn't really leave a "product" in your hair (like JF Beach Blonde which is a gel.) I used this for 2 days with my hairdryer (applying the product to damp hair and blowdrying) and I saw instant results. (This also works if you spray it in and sit in the sun). My roots have lightened to a light blonde with red undertones...blending nicely with my existing highlights. This bottle was $4 at Sally Beauty and I will definetly repurchase.

Treatments -Neutrogena - Instant Nail Enhancer [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
deweydrop 7/1/2005 8:31:00 AM

I don't understand the complaints about this product either. I bought it in Buff at Wal-Mart for around $5. Gives my nails a nice healthy sheen that washes off when I wash my hands. No big deal. It's intended use is for re-application and not a one shot-last a few days-deal. I'm horrible with manicures, I'm constantly picking at my nails...this lets me have nice looking, "posh" nails without having to sit there with my 4 sided buffer for 15 minutes. I don't think I'd try the pearl one...I'm quite happy with the results of buff.

Self Tanners -Jergens - Natural Glow
rated 3 of 5
deweydrop 4/10/2005 7:50:00 PM

(this is for the medium version) Ok - YES it gave my legs some color, YES I look like I have a tan. However, there are a few points I can't get over with this product. (For the record - I've NEVER used ANY self tanning product in my life.) 1. The SMELL...omg, the smell is horrible. I didn't notice it at first, but a few days later, so nasty. So I switched to using this at night. 2. Sticky feel - yes, since I used it at night, I'd strip down in the bathroom, apply (was just doing my legs) and do my night routine. Afterwards, put on boxers, go to bed. my legs felt nasty. 3. My feet are orange. I don't get it. The tops of my feet are actually orange. I won't re-purchase this...for as good as it DOES work, I can't deal with the "side effects"

Blush -NARS - Gilda
rated 5 of 5
deweydrop 4/10/2005 5:08:00 PM

I have THE most random NARS blush collection - Orgasm, Outlaw, and now Gilda. Gilda is pumpkin orange in the pan...but once on, it just gives your face this perfect glow with no shimmer. It's beautiful. Reminds me of a deeper Charmed Peach by L'Oreal (without the shimmer of course.) NARS blushes, although very expensive, are totally worth the money

Palettes -Too Faced - The Quickie Chronicles - The Beach Bunny
rated 5 of 5
deweydrop 4/10/2005 4:17:00 PM

Love love love these palettes! Beach Bunny is adorable...a wonderful peachy bronzer with some shimmer and 3 neutral shades of e/s...great for when you have some summer color. (The palest brown actually shows alot of pink undertones and looks wonderful with the vanilla shade.) The lip glosses in here always get me...love them! This is my 3rd palette...and I really think they are a great bargain (for example - a Nars blush iis 4.5 grams for $25. The blush ALONE in a TF Pallette is over 6 grams, and the entire palette is $25. Good value IMO.)

Lip Gloss -Revlon - Colorstay Overtime Sheer in Sheer Nude
rated 5 of 5
deweydrop 12/26/2004 3:48:00 PM

Another beauty of a Revlon product! I was never a fan of the colorstay lip products, until this one came along. Sheer Nude is pale pinky-nude color. The gloss that goes over it seems to have a slight orange tint to it, but both colors work SO WELL together. The pigment side IS a bit drying after it dries on the lips, you really need to use both ends of this lipstick/gloss to get the full effect. Bought for $9 at Target, not a bad deal, would buy again.

Palettes -Rocket City - Space Case Lip Palette
rated 5 of 5
deweydrop 7/23/2004 8:03:00 PM

Holy schnikes I found this at Marshalls for $6 each! I HAD to pick up 3 of them! They only had pinks, so I snagged them. The compact, as others have said, is too fun (but the brush kinda flys around when you open it). The glosses are, IMO, great. Nice texture, nice sheer coverage, no nasty scent/flavor...I'm quite pleased with this. I doubt I would have paid $29 for it...but $18 for THREE of them was fine by me!

Eye Shadow -Jane - Eye Zing in Millionaire
rated 4 of 5
deweydrop 7/16/2004 7:40:00 AM

Love this color...a sparkly teal that, IMO, only works well wet as E/L. I use this to line my lower lids, put some nude/beige e/s on my lid, load the upper lashes with black mascara and the look is just so pretty. I also like to add some UD Acid Rain to the outer corners...gives it a real pretty effect. These eyezings are so dang cheap, I don't cry if I buy one I don't like...granted this one is not the best dry and I'm not too fond of it on my upper lids...but as wet e/l...wonderful.
