Liquid -Clinique - Superfit Foundation [DISCONTINUED]
rated 3 of 5

The colour is so horrible on me. It's too dark, pink yet orangry. The SA tried out neutral on my jawline and it looks ok. When I went home and swipeit on my hand it looks pink. When I applied on my face I think I look orange and pink. Now I wondered if I should get shell instead of neutral. That said, the formulation is OK. but the colour sucks. Mine is the old superfit, not too sure if the new superfit colour match will be better (or worse). The new superfit have not hit my stores yet. Another thing I do not like is that the bottle doesn't come with the ball in the bottle (when you shake there's a ball sound which mixes the liquid inside). Other than that, the packaging is good and very compact.

Liquid -Ettusais - Flat Design Liquid AC Control Oil
rated 5 of 5

This is a liquid foundation which I've been using for many years. Before they switched to Flat design, it was called acne prone something. Flat design is more yellow toned, which is great for asians. easy to blend and with medium coverage. After going through chanel, revlon, clinique, etc, I still think ettusais matches my skintone the best. I guess I must be a banana!! 1 bottle last me around 10 months to a yr. super long! and that's with daily usage!(and I use alot)

Loose Powders -Ettusais - Day Protect (Amulet) Powder
rated 4 of 5

Great product. gives a coverage that is higher than most Loose powders but not as much as 2 way cake. The only thing I wanna complain is that if used daily, It last only probably 2 months at most!

Masks -The Body Shop - Tea Tree Oil Face Mask
rated 5 of 5
deppstar 11/23/2008 9:22:00 AM

I like this. It comes with a huge amount and I can apply liberally all over my face w/o worrying my face will dry up. I don't think it's a powerful treatment for acne, but it does calms those upcoming/existing acne. Face feels smooth and supple after usage. Though it's advised to be used once or twice weekly, I can safely say using this every alternate day works as well too. I like this and will repurchase it.

Makeup Brushes -MAC - 182 Buffer Brush
rated 5 of 5
deppstar 10/23/2008 5:24:00 AM

#182 and #187 are my holy grail brushes. I use them daily. I love the effect #182 gives when I apply MSFN, but MSF natural breaks me out. Now I use #182 with MAC lightful powder, and it works great. Both brushes never shed on me. I wash them every week. Don't think I'll ever purchase this again cuz it will probably last a long time with good care. but if there is any situation whereby I need to, I would! =)

Treatments -The Body Shop - Vitamin E Moisture Serum
rated 5 of 5
deppstar 10/20/2008 5:07:00 AM

I like this serum. very light, absorbs quickly and moisturizing enough for oily skin girls who cannot take cream moisturizer. I use this day and night. For night, I use this serum followed by the tea tree fade night lotion. during day time, I use this, followed by the Vit E tinted moisturizer, then my makeup. lovely product. didn't breakout and will repurchase again. as for the price, it's relatively cheap compared to other brands that I'm using. for a Serum, the price is reasonable. 30ml last me around 2-3 months.

Pressed Powders -L'Oreal - True Match Super-Blendable Powder
rated 4 of 5
deppstar 9/28/2008 11:26:00 AM

It's been ages since I last used any Loreal, maybelline , za or any drugstore brand powders, but I was quite taken by this powder (I don't know why since the packaging is quite normal, some even say ugly, I thought it was cute though), but OMG! It's superb!!!!! This powder absolutely doesn't gives me any chalky look. It's very very fine, as fine as my MAC lightful powder (MAC Lightful is more moisturizing I feel, cuz it contains squalene). The loreal true match powder blends in beautifully and stays on. It does oxidises a little, so just get 1 shade lighter. I think this might be my HG powder as of now. I'm abandoning my etude house, chanel, ettusais, the body shop, MAC lightful powders and obsessing over this cheap drugstore brand powder. I am one of those who likes full coverage (with no heavy feeling on the face), and though this loreal true match superblendable powder is just a pressed powder, it gives me the coverage that I need. All I have to do is to apply tinted moisturizer, than concealer if needed, followed by dusting of this powder with MAC #182. For those who require higher coverage, there is a 2-way cake and liquid foundation version. Both versions seem to have even better raves than the pressed powder in makeup alley, but I'm very happy with my current loreal, so I'm sticking to it. I cross my hands and pray that I finally found a good alternative to a cheap powder. Honestly, using expensive skincare products takes a toll on my wallet since I like to haul as well.

Treatments -The Body Shop - tea tree oil Cover Stick
rated 4 of 5
deppstar 9/28/2008 11:19:00 AM

I've been using the body shop tea tree blemish stick for a week, and seriously, I love it!!!! I have no freaking idea why do I used to pay 4 times the amount to get my japanese brand concealer when I think the blemish stick does the same or even better job. I think alot of people use this (I could be wrong) since like.. eons ago(I've read that this is the HG for many students), but this is my first venture to this concealer!! and I have to say it's really good for the price as well. would definitely purchase it if I can ever finish it. haha..

Tinted Moisturizer -The Body Shop - Vitamin E Tinted Moisturizer
rated 4 of 5
deppstar 9/28/2008 11:16:00 AM

WOOT. IT's my first foray to tinted moisturizers. Previously I've only tried using tinted sunblock. I think this is great. For a tinted moisturizer, it is definitely very moisturizing (I have combi skin) plus I think it gives pretty good coverage for a tinted moisturizer. I have red patches here and there, pimples breakout here and there as well, and this just totally even out my skin tone. Applying another layer on top doesn't cake up, and it's very smooth. Plus, it's the vitamin E series, and thus, it has anti oxidant properties. Initially, my face does oil up faster than normal (like I said, it's moisturizing!) but that was just the initial phase, since I switched my entire skincare to the body shop tea tree and vit E series around the same time. With good oil control primer or loose powder/powder, etc my skin gradually adjust to the oiliness and went back to normal. I am happy to say that I have not broken out from this at ALL. Unfortunately, there is a slight problem. This tinted moisturizer only comes in 1 colour. NATURAL. which is simply too DARK for me. I'm around NC20, and I think this is more suited for someone around NC30. Well, I found a trick to lighten the colour. Either mix with untinted sunblock or my day serum. Get powders 1 shade lighter, and voila! the moisturizer works!!! Would definitely purchase this again despite the dark colour. And oh, it would be great if this has spf like the vit E day lotion spf 15 as well!
