Hair Color -Clairol - Balsam Lasting Color

I have tried them all. Every brand you see at the drugstore, I've tried. Found this seveal years ago and have stuck with it ever since. Color turns out perfect, no burning, no irritation, and it even fades gracefully. The trick is not to pick a color that is too far off from your current color. My hair is a very dark brown and I've been using the "Burgundy" for years. Love it.

Hair Color -Clairol - Born Blonde Maxi
dementia9 4/15/2013 7:28:00 PM
I have been buying this for years, and use it to strip my hair of color before dyeing it the color of my choice. Remember, people, this is a BLEACH, not a hair dye. I naturally have very dark brown to black hair, and this does an excellent job of evenly stripping my hair of all the color....better than the salon brands I've tried. Each box contains 2 packets of bleach powder, and I can get 4 uses out of each box since I only use this to streak my hair. I do NOT get a platinum blonde out of it, as my hair is very dark, but a brassy yellow that is the perfect base for the dye I apply over it later.

Eyeliner -Stila - Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner

Found my new HG eyeliner. I'm a contact lens wearer and have always had issues with raccoon eyes (I even carry makeup remover and q-tips in my purse for this reason), but this has put a major stop to that. The only thing that shows up under my eyes hours into the day now is slight flecks of mascara (and I'm ok with that until I find a non-flaking mascara). Took off one lippie because unlike a lot of reviewers here, I'm not a fan of the tip. It's too long and too soft for my tastes (I prefer the short, sharp, hard felt tips that Prestige and Almay use for their liquid eyeliners). I fall asleep with this stuff on a lot and wake up with my eyeliner perfectly intact--a miracle considering I used to have to constantly reapply my eyeliner during the day. Kinda pricey but definitely worth it. I'll never stop using this stuff.

Mascara -Clinique - Bottom Lash Mascara
dementia9 11/3/2012 10:20:00 PM
Really nothing special. A regular-sized mascara wand works just as well. Was expecting it to lengthen my bottom lashes at least somewhat, but all it does is make them darker. I still have to apply a coat of regular mascara to my bottom lashes over this stuff for any real definition. I'll use this until I'm out only because of the price, but I won't repurchase.

Eye Shadow -Physicians Formula - Virtual Eyes - Electric Green

Found this at the dollar store. Looks like a pretty, shimmery green on the outside, but looks blue on the lids, and is not all that shimmery. I was rather disappointed with this, as I love sparkly green eyeshadows. I use my regular green eyeshadow before going out, but leave this in my purse for touch-ups. Its design makes it ideal for carrying around when you don't feel like bringing an eyeshadow with a semi-fragile plastic lid. My advice is, if you're able to get it cheap (i.e. around a dollar), it could be fun to play around with. I'm just disappointed that it is not really "Electric Green," after all.

Hair Color -Clairol - Herbal Essences Hair Color [DISCONTINUED]

Worst hair dye I have ever used. EXTREMELY runny and messy application and burned my scalp a LOT. I do NOT have sensitive skin, and this is the only dye that has ever burned it. I chose the color "Deeply Intense Copper," which is supposed to turn out a sort of golden/reddish brown. I've just finished dyeing my hair, and it is a sickly/bleach-accident-looking BRIGHT ORANGE. I refuse to go out in public like this, so I have to rush order some dark hair dyes to get rid of this mess on my head. I'll stick with Nutrisse and Hydrience.

Liquid -Neutrogena - Skin Clearing Oil-Free Makeup

This has been my foundation for about 8 years, and I have tried many with no success. I've always used Softest Gold, and it is the absolute PERFECT color match for my skin. I use it mainly to cover redness, uneven skin tones, and the occasional pimple or two...and to prevent breakouts. The foundation itself is not gloppy and thick, and has a rather nice consistency, so it looks natural. My only gripe is that this foundation definitely doesn't last long--I keep on having to reapply throughout the day, practically every hour. The fact that the color matches my skin exactly almost completely makes up for it, though. I also think that it is a bit overpriced. I wouldn't recommend it for people who experience moderate-to-severe breakouts--this stuff may be too thin to provide complete coverage.
