Bronzers -L'Oreal - Bronzer Body Tinted Gel (One day)

I can't understand all the positive reviews on this one. The color is so unrealistic, very reddish. At first, I couldn't tell that it was showing up (I'm very pale). When I went outside and looked at it in natural light, I was streaked so badly and the color was terrible. My family also commented. I tried blending like crazy.....rubbing, rubbing, but the stuff is impossible to blend. Also, it stained my hands. I even washed them immediately after applying! I will stick with LORAC Tantalizer. It's much more expensive, but the color is beautiful and you can blend it in much easier and lightly buff away any mistakes. This was a complete waste of money.

Scrubs -Dermalogica - Daily Microfoliant

This product really damaged my skin and in such a short period of time. I currently have breakouts all over and thick, scaly, sore patches. I couldn't believe that this product could even do that, but it did. I haven't changed any other items in my routine. I had smooth skin to begin with, I was just looking for something to to brighten it.

Cleansers -AcneFree - 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide Cleanser

I have been using this product for over two years. You can buy a large bottle of cleanser by itself at Target for about $6. I have super-sensitive acne-prone skin and this is the only cleanser that I have found that my skin can tolerate. It contains aloe and other natural ingredients to help balance moisture loss, yet it doesn't contain known skin clogging agents. There are so many products out there that claim to not clog pores, but clearly do. It leaves my skin really smooth, soft, and with no breakouts. It's gentle and leaves your skin feeling really clean. I highly recommend this product. I can't imagine anyone with sensitive, acne-prone skin having problems with it and not benefitting from it. Excellent buy!

Treatments -Good Skin - Lumecin

I've been using this product for about two weeks now. I am pleased with it, however, I can't say it hasn't done much to make my pores appear smaller, nor has it helped with discoloration of former blemishes. I am hoping that those things will happen as I continue to use it. It has helped brighten my skin. **What it has done exceptionally well is that it makes my skin feel incredibly smooth...better than any moisturizer could. So if you are looking for a product to smooth rough texture...this is the product for you. I tend to breakout on my chin and have noticed that this product has increased breakouts in that area. I believe this is because of the increased moisturization. So I skip application on my chin. I have not broken out anywhere else on my face. Overall, I am happy with this product and I look forward to seeing how it continues to work over the coming weeks.

Styling Products -Sunsilk - Waves of Envy Sea Mist [DISCONTINUED]

Overall, this is the best wave enhancing product that I've used...and I've tried several. I like it because it didn't make my hair "waxy or dull," which is what happened with other products. I sprayed this in my towel-dried hair ( I have very long hair) and didn't comb it out. I also scrunched it with my fingers. When my hair was dry, I just used my fingers to lightly separate. My hair looked great. I would definitely recommend this product. In addition, I didn't see any heavy ingredients listed that would weigh down hair.

Treatments -Clinique - Acne Solutions Spot Healing Gel

I have tried every acne product on the market practically. This works the best for me. First of all....it works fast! It makes a difference the moment I first put it on and drastically shrinks the size overnight. I think the reason it works so well ( for me) is because it contains 1% salicylic acid. In the past, salicylic acid has really agravated my skin, so I thought I was allergic to it. 1% makes all the difference....it's a perfect balance. I highly recommend this product to anyone who has cystic type acne and sensitive skin. Also, I've noticed that when I apply a thin layer, it also cleans out blackheads. I primarily break out on my chin. Hope this helps!

Treatments -Sally Hansen - Miracle Cure

This product seems to be helping my nails more than anything. My nails grow well, however, they always tear on the sides and peel. Miracle Cure has stopped that from happening. My nails are really thick and strong.....they look great. I highly recommend this product. A little goes a long way. You only need to apply it about once a week.

Blush -Bare Escentuals - Warmth All Over Face Color

I love the color of this bronzer on my face.....but it irritates my skin. This product also contains bismuth oxycloride, which is known to be irritating. If you have sensitive skin, you should avoid this product.

Powder -Bare Escentuals - Bare Minerals Foundation #2
dellis 5/2/2006 10:03:00 AM
I was thrilled with the initial application and coverage of bare escentuals products.--However, I felt like my face was itchy and burning. I put it in the back of my mind ( especially since I spent a fortune :-) but the sensations never went away. Then I discovered other people were having the same reaction. My face was breaking out much more than usual too. After doing some research, it looks like bismuth oxycloride may be to blame. This ingredient is listed in the foundation and warmth face color. If you do a google search there is a great article on this ingredient, explaining the possible complications, etc. I will probably keep using the mineral veil though....since it doesn't appear to contain bismuth oxychloride. A few days ago I purchased Physicians Formula loose mineral powder and it seems to be working well.....their product is free of bismuth oxychloride and talc. They offer a great variety of shades to choose from also.
