I really like this. On a day to day basis this is the only face makeup i use. I use bronzer because i'm naturally pale and because of that i tend to look sickly. This really warms up my complexion. Honestly you don't NEED this. You could easily find a matte brown powder somewhere else for much cheaper but i bought this on a whim 2 years ago as a birthday gift to myself. It's very dark so I use it sparingly to give a warmer tone to my face. I've contoured with it before with good results. Plus it smells like hot chocolate! I'm a sucker for anything that smells like chocolate.
Masks -Unlisted Brand - Aztec - Indian Healing Clay
definebeauty 1/25/2013 8:15:00 PM
This clay, really helped me through my rough times with my skin. Rewind to 2 years ago. My skin is broken out, the texture is disgusting, red and puss filled pimples with sprinkling of black heads all over my face. My confidence was non existent and I was becoming desperate. I found myself in my local health food store, and picked this up just because i really had nothing to use. The first time i used it i added acv like it says you can. I could feel the clay literally pulling the dirt and oil from my skin as it hardened. So back to the present. It's been 2 years since i purchased this, and i'm only half way through the pound that you get. I do not use this regularly, just whenever i feel like. I am not telling you this is a miracle in a jar. What i am saying is that if you think that the reason your skin is acting up is because you have toxins in your body/skin, i strongly feel this product is for you. if your skin is acting out due to hormonal issues, i'm not too sure. try is none the less. It's not like it's extra expensive. I paid $5 on sale. Today i still do have pimples but the red and pussy ones are few and far between. What i have now are those very fine pimples that you could rub off your face easily but they come back and you can pnly really see them in certain light at certain angles, as well as hyperpigmentation left behind from previous acne. The only cons about this are after i washedit off, my face is red for about an hour. So it is not a good idea to put this on right before something important like an event, date, anywhere you'll be seen. And it is annoying to make. It also can get a little messy but you can minimize the mess by using a fan/foundation brush to apply it to your face. This is a stable for me.
this was my second flat iron ever. the first was a random off brand that i found in a ethnic hair store. i don't have a lot of experience straightening my hair but i have to to say, even thought this isn't a super high end (i got it on sale at kroger for $19) this is really nice. i bought it in the 2" model because i have long hair and plenty of it. i haven't noticed a substantial decrease in the time it takes to straighten my hair because like i said i;m not a veteran hair straightener . Pros: Ceramic plates heats up fast doesn't pull hair easy to operate can use on wet hair (i don't but i could if i was short on time) Cons: this is personal preference but i don't know the temperature of each level. what i mean is that it doesn't show you the actual temperature that the iron is on but rather levels 1-30. level 7 gives me okay results but i haven't ventured farther. i noticed that when i was washing dishes (no water touched my hair) after i used this, my hair sort of curled up again. i don't know if this was because i didn't use high enough heat or not enough product or that's just how my hair is.
Powder -Everyday Minerals - foundation semi-matte formula
definebeauty 8/28/2012 5:58:00 PM
i have the color winged butter. it's a perfect match to my awkward yellow/pale skin tone. it's actually the only one i can use, can't really get away with any other color. i got the matte version in a sample i ordered and it looked really powdery and cakey and it took the majority of the dimension of my face away basically. in the sample set i took the semi matte just in case i didn't like the matte and i really like it. it looks matte but it doesn't look cakey or powdery it looks like skin. they were having a 40% off sale on these but i missed it with my indecisiveness :/ so i'm waiting for another sale to but the BIG size. love love love.
This is absolutely one of my favorite fragrances to date. I've tried cheap immitations of this so that i can save money but none of them stack up. Tipically i enjoy clean scents more than floral scents but i've made an exception for this fragrance. it's not too strong but not too weak and it's not so sweet that it makes you want to puke. it lasts a good 7 hours on me and i get a lot of compliments when i wear it. more than when i don't use perfume and use dove soap in my shower lol. i really want to get the full size and the deodorant and the lotion but it's so expensive!!i've made a friend for life in this perfume.
i ordered a sample of this from everydayminerals.com along with some other items. this is what stood out to be the most and has become one of my favorite finishing powders. it looks like a pale yellow color but it is translucent on the face. if gives a nice naturally matte finish to my skin which is what i crave. not a bit fan of the "dewy" finish. i am planning on purchasing the full size very soon.
One day, i was browsing walgreens when i stumbles apon this lovely little product. after reading the ingredients i decided to take it home. i haven't looked back since. this masque has really gotten me though some trials and tribulations with my skin. i remember at one time i used to get these horrendous blackheads and red pimples around that time of the month. out of sheer hope i i tried spritzing my face with water and applying this to the area. i left it on for about 45 minutes. when i washed it off, the majority of the blackheads were gone and the red pimples were reduced. as well as being powerful, this product smells lovely as well.
Treatments -Alba Botanica - Acne Dote Invisible Treatment Gel
definebeauty 7/27/2012 5:42:00 PM
i've been using this product for over a year now. i bought it on a whim (VERY RARE for me) when i was going through a bout of break out. now heed my warning. this is a SPOT TREATMENT. meaning that it is not the answer to all the acne you will ever get. i feel it works a lot better when you concentrate it on one or 2 blemishes (not a black head, a red spot or a white head) instead of spreading all over your face. all in all i really like this product. it works fast on whiteheads. i've seen reduction in a pimple in as little as 3 hours. i really am glad i gave it a go. it's become one of my favorite spot treatments. i can always depend on it to zap away a blemish by the time i wake up.
i love it!! It's the first foundation i have found that has matched me completely. i am the color golden peach. i got a sample of it from. great website if you're looking for product and you want to help out the cause. the finish of this foundation is a natural matte it doesn't feel sticky on the face after it's done drying like some foundations i have tried. it looks great in florescent light and daylight. the texture of it is interesting. it's a liquid but it's slightly creamy. when i wear foundation i have a habit of mixing it with a little bit of foundation because i think it marries with my skin better that way. when i don't mix it with moisturizer, the coverage of this foundation is AMAZING!! I can really appreciate the coverage, i just like something more sheer but i like the fact that i can sheer it down or wear it full. i think this really is everything i've been looking for but i've only had it 2 days so i can't say right now. i will update in about a week. *** UPDATE i still like the foundation. it hasn't broken me out at all, however it's not as perfect a match as i thought. it's not too dark that it can't be fixed with a lighter powder though.
i absolutely love this shadow. i got it as a sample with one of my orders once which they usually do with orders. i find myself reaching all the time for looks like a snow leopard look i did the other day, love it! i was looking for it on coastal scents the other day to finally buy the full size but it was no where to be found! i don;t know if they gave it a new name or something but that;s what i am hoping because it would be so awful if they discontinued it. the color payoff is beautiful, a little goes such a long way, i haven't run into any creasing issues when i use a primer underneath. but i did see a bit of creasing once when i used cream concealer as a base but it is possible that i used too much concealer. one of my favorite shadows xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Chrome Addict sadly, has been discontinued. i am currently in search of a dupe. i cam across one shadow that looks similar. it is called Concentrated by Everyday Minerals but it too is on it's way out! http://www.everydayminerals.com/store/color/last-call/concentrate.html something else i saw in a drugstore is the Revlon Diamond Lust shadow in Celestial. It's not as chromatic. it's more on the frosty side but essentially the same.
i don't know if it's the color i got, or what but i feel like this looks grey on me. the consistency is oily. emollient if you will. this concealer goes a looong way. i remember the first time i bought it i put like a penny size on my hand the apply in my face and it covered a little over half my face. i got the color medium and it was way too light for me and i would that strange because in makeup i'm always the medium or the light medium. i don;t think this would even match me in the winter time. this product is okay as a whole i suppose. i don't care too much for the consistency. sometimes when i try to use it this watery stuff comes out. and it's hard to love a product that doesn't match you at all. on the bright side. one could use it as a very cheap foundation because it goes so far. also another thing, i used this with moisturized skin, but it still clung to drier patches. i HAVE to use a primer underneath.
this is a very fun mask :) it is the first peel off mask i have ever used and i have to say, this will most likely be going into my "quick spa" arsenal. it dries quickly if you use the correct amount (i find that using a slightly larger than pea size amount for my cheeks and forehead and half a pea size for my chin, i get the best one peel effect.) you can get it off in one go.after i peeled of the mask my skin feels so smooth and comfortable. i was half expecting to see my black heads in the mask but then again it wasn't really designed to do that. all in all it's a good affordable mask and i haven't experienced and sort of skin problems (i.e. acne, redness) so i will use this every once in a while. not amazing, but good. no complaints thus far.
Eyeliner -Clinique - Brush-on cream liner in TRUE BLACK
definebeauty 5/26/2012 10:17:00 PM
i love this stuff. especially for winged eyeliner. it stays forever and the true black color is so dark you don't even need to build it. the consistency is so smooth and easy to work with. i think it works best (in my opinion) with an angled eyeliner brush. all in all when i run out i will certainly repurchase but that probably won't be anytime soon because i'm only using this for special events (high school budget)
BB Cream -Garnier - BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector - Light/Medium
definebeauty 5/3/2012 11:23:00 PM
i reviewed this a while back. i hated it. but recently my mom was watching Dr. Oz (she follows him religiously) and he brought on a lady who was talking about bb cream and how fabulous it is for your skin and how it fades dark spots (which i have an ample amount of). being a good mother she obviously no longer wants me to suffer with my spots. so bless her heart she went out and got this for me not knowing that i had previously bought it and hated it. however i got it in light/medium. she bought it in medium dark. i got the lighter of the two because i usually fall into the fair medium category, rarely ever a solid medium. the darker one looked super intimidating because, well, it's quite dark in the tube! but after it oxidizes it looks like my skin! the light one made me look ashy O_O i may be a black person but like i said i'm pretty fair, and have never experienced that problem before the coverage is fine. it feels very light. it doesn't cover my spots completely but i never expected it too. there is definitely a fragrance. it's very flowery and pretty. i don't mind it. i like this a lot. it's a good alternative to heavy liquid foundation. funny how a change in color changed my mind.
Treatments -Desert Essence - Tea Tree Oil (100% Pure Australian)
definebeauty 5/3/2012 11:16:00 PM
I started to really get into natural skin care about 2 years ago. I had really terrible acne back in the day and this helped tons. I used it interchangeably with a benzoyl peroxide for a couple months as i was transitioning from chemicals to natural stuff as a spot treatment. I have to say i prefer this over bp. Like i said i used/use this as a spot treatment. I put it in white heads and those pimples that are emerging but don't have a head yet and this totally wiped them out in 2 days (i applied 2-3 times per day). Some people complain about the smell but i like it. It sort of smells like menthol and earth. Also you need the smallest bit in your spots. Warning: dilute this with water before you use this for the first time. Like take a qtip, douse it in water, then put the oil on it. you might burn your skin if you don't. all in all this is a staple in my skin care.
