With Christmas coming, many people will be thinking again about the Clarisonic. I've had mine a couple of years and now rarely use it. I have oily sensitive skin prone to acne. I found myself breaking out regularly in places I don't normally break out and this didn't change until I stopped using it. I think this is definitely a ymmv product. But if you have my kind of skin and are on a serious budget, I'd pass on this and feel you're not missing anything. My guess is that this is overly stimulating and therefore irritating. Anything that irritates over a period of time is going to cause breakouts. Sigh. I so wanted this to be my miracle product too.
Oh drat! this causes breakouts wherever I apply it--the acetylated lanolin must be the culprit. If you don't have acnegenic skin, my review would still apply I had to come back again to rave on this gel in Golden Tan. It's a bit of a misnomer bc it's not golden. I apply a small pearl on my hand, take a skunk brush and lightly rug the gel on it then sweep it on my face where the sun would hit--high cheeks, bridge of nose, temples and tip of chin. I use it over my daily ss it gives me such a lovely pinkish-brownish glow on my nw 20 skin. Then I use the Bonne Bell gel blush in Peach to pop the apples--perfection! These gels have a small working time before they set and dry, lending such a natural glow to the skin, minus shimmer or glitter. I just can't get over how good this is for 5.00 on the Bonne Bell website. I can't find it locally so it's worth it to me to pay shipping. I also ordered the Luminous Glow Gel Bronzer but it's more of a highlighter than a bronzer(no brown color) and I still have to play with it. So I have the Golden Tan Bronzer Gel, the peach blush gel and the rose blush gel and highly recommend!! i've tried just about every bronzer on the market, and this beats them all for the way I like to use it. HG, oh yes!!
Edit:Oh boo hoo!! What I realized over time is that where I apply this my skin breaks out every time. So sad to find such a great look and then discover it's acnegenic--probably the acetylated lanolin HG product--where have you been? Brownish gel has a slight pink-rose underbase, the color you get when you "get a little sun." I put it on a skunk brush and go over the areas of my face the sun hits. Leaves a beautiful finish over my ss or foundation, looks like real skin. Not matte, not shiny, dries and not easily rubbed off. Very cheap, ordered from web site along with the blush cheek gels. The perfect sunkissed color for my NW 20 skin, can build more or less as I choose. The perfect texture and finish for my summer-oily skin. And at under 5.00 a tube, what more could you ask?

This goes on beautifully--hence the 3 stars but for me was highly ACNEGENIC. I was breaking out by the end of the day
this is one of my all time favorites. A littlle bit red with a pink underbase. Medium depth. Looks beautiful on yellow and pink skin undertones. EL brought this one back after discontinuing
