Polishes -OPI - Just A Little Rosti At This
dea2407 2/6/2012 4:48:00 AM
A deep burgundy red colour (there's a little more violet touch to it in the bottle than shows on the nails). Very brilliant and highly pigmented (opaque after one coat). Great quality, lasts 2-3 days on my nails (which is a long time in my case). Classy without looking oldfashioned. Would buy again. In case you wonder: "Rösti" in Switzerland is a meal made of grated potatoes. :-)

Blush -NYX - Rouge Cream Blush - Glow
dea2407 10/13/2011 5:37:00 AM
This cream blush is very efficient and very pigmented. It has a very creamy consistency and leaves a dewy sheen on skin. So you don't need much to get a light true pink colour on your cheeks - of course it's buildable if you want too, though I would be careful because of the sheen. The consistency is probably even too creamy for my taste, that's why it's not one of my favourite cream blushes - but it's of course a good product for this price!

Lipstick -MAC - Sheen Supreme lipstick in Can't Get Enough
dea2407 10/13/2011 5:19:00 AM
This is a perfect nude lipstick if you are pale, because it doesn't wash you out. It's a bronze-brown colour with a nice sheen and looks very natural too. The consistency of the Sheen Supreme's is very smooth and not drying at all. I wouldn't even have come accross this colour if the lady at MAC wouldn't have tried it on me. Would buy again!

Blush -NYX - pinched
dea2407 6/28/2011 9:15:00 AM
The colour is absolutely gorgeous on my pale skin - a very wearable rose with a hint of coral and a soft golden shimmer. I think this will suit any skintone except for really dark skin. Perfect for every day and also nice to add some shimmer to another blush or bronzer. I even use it as an eyeshadow sometimes. Pros: the prize (of course), suitable for most skintones, great for every day, multiple ways of use! Cons: a little less pigmented, doesn't last all day (though you can change that with using a cream blush underneath), fallout of product if you don't take care, the packaging quality is low (but what can you expect for this price!).

Fragrances -Marc Jacobs - Curacao Splash
dea2407 6/22/2011 10:14:00 AM
Curacao splash is one of three LE body splashes for summer 2011. The smell: I'm totally in love - this is my new summer favorite! So full of oranges, limes, apricots - fruity and light at the same time. It also has a light flowery scent. Smelling it makes me think of the sea, the beach, sundown, cocktails and multi-coloured summer dresses! ;-) As it's a fresh scent, it lasts about 4 hours on me and then fades away. The packaging: Well, like the other body splashes. There is only one size available and thats a huge and heavy 300 ml bottle. I know it's about the philosophy of the body splashes, but I would be happier if there would at least be a second (smaller) size too. Also, it comes with a screw cap and you have to insert the pump. After you did this, the srew cap doesn't fit any longer. Can't really see sense in there! I also find it a little difficult to hold the bottle and spray, as it's so huge. Price: Well - it's expensive (about EUR 70,-- in my country). On the other side you get a lot of product for the prize! I think everyone will have to decide for themselfes... I'm a little torn here. All in all: One of my favourite summer scents ever!!! I also filled something in my travel perfume sprayer for on the go. If you like the MJ Body Splashes in general, go and try it! Overall: A perfect summer scent for me!

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Katy Perry - Purr
dea2407 4/29/2011 4:21:00 AM
This is a very berry fragrance and quite sweet, but I think not too overwhelming. It smells really nicely - but I think that's it... It's true that - like others wrote before - it doesn't last long too, after an hour the smell is almost gone. That would probably explain the huge bottle too (it's only available in a 50 ml size - at least where I live) - because of course you tend to use more to keep the scent longer. The design of the bottle is so cute, but I would have expected something more special from Katy Perry.

Toners -The Body Shop - Cucumber Refreshening Water
dea2407 4/4/2011 8:01:00 AM
This is one of the Body Shop's classics, which was relaunched in 2010 (in Europe). They also added Community Trade Aloe Vera to the formula. Contains cucumber extract, witch hazel and rose water. This may not be the cheapest toner, but it really works great! The smell is delicious and soft. It works perfect for my combination skin - removes the oiliness and doesn't dry out at the same time. (I use it after my cleanser two times a day!) I'm very satisfied with it and I will buy again!

Powder -Clinique - Almost Powder Makeup SPF 15
dea2407 2/8/2011 8:21:00 AM
(0 - 5 points, 5 = excellent, 0 = very bad) coverage*: 5, texture: 5 feeling: 5, skin-type**: 4 blendable?: 5, staying power: 4 TOTAL POINTS: 28 of 30 = excellent * Is the coverage what it's supposed to be? ** Does it suit the skin type(s) it's supposed to be for? I love it - it's so perfect for my combination skin! I experienced no break-outs as others wrote. The texture is sooo silky and I don't get oily for about 3-4 hours and that's a very good result for my skin! They don't sell it with the sponge shown in the pics above any longer (I'm sure that is why some of you wrote about "cakeyness"!), but with a brush. I don't use this brush either (too small for my opinion) and I found out about how to build up the coverage! Application with - duo-fibre brush: light coverage - foundation or powder brush: light - medium coverage - sponge: medium - full coverage The application is easy (no streaks) and fast too. I don't use foundation underneath either. Plus: "01 Fair" is perfect for my very light complexion.

Misc Beauty Tools -The Body Shop - Pencil Sharpener - small
dea2407 2/4/2011 3:13:00 AM
Pros: - sharpens very good and the blade stays sharp (I own mine for several years now - sharpens very smooth, so no breaking or splitting - has a lid Con: I wish it would have a second hole for bigger pencils (like NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils...). It's still a very good sharpener and I would buy again.

Eyeliner -Smashbox - wish for the perfect pencils
dea2407 1/25/2011 3:27:00 AM
These pencils are good in my opinion - not more, not less. I like the colour arrangement, you get a classic black and a dark grey one, a dark purple one and a yellowish golden one. The pigmentation is good, but I know better ones (eg. MAC Powerpoint eye pencils). Especially the golden one needs a little more "drawing" but that might also be because it's the lightest colour in the range. Still, it's my favourite colour as it makes any look a little more shiney and glamorous. They last about 4-5 hours on my waterline. I like that they are smaller, so it's easy to throw them in your purse or take them with you on a journey. And of course I like that it's a charity product. So overall, the quality is good, the packaging very good, the colours are nice - but I would have expected more pigmentation and more staying power for the price.

Fragrances -Thierry Mugler - Womanity
dea2407 1/12/2011 8:09:00 AM
OMG I totally love it! This is the most special scent for a women I have ever had!!! I just sniffed at the bottle when I saw it for the first time and I liked it. The second time I tested it on my skin and I was a bit overwhelmed by the strong and extremely spicy smell and just thought, that this wasn't at all what I had expected. But after a few minutes I couldn't stop sniffing. It's so special and the smell gets more warm and sweet, but still fresh and a lil salty the longer you wear it. Plus it lasts sooo long! As I said it's special and this is probably why it's either a love-it or hate-it perfume. But I would def. recommend giving it a chance and smell it in reality before you don't buy it only because of bad reviews.

Lotions/ Creams -The Body Shop - Spiced Vanilla Body Butter
dea2407 1/11/2011 8:56:00 AM
(0 - 5 points, 5 = excellent, 0 = very bad) texture: 4 feeling on skin: 5 moisturizing*: 4 sinking into the skin: 4 smell: 3 packaging**: 5 TOTAL POINTS: 25 of 30 = very good * according to the skintype it's supposed to suit ** Can you get out the very last bit? When I first smelled it, I didn't like it at all, but - I don't know why - I put something on the back of my hand. And the longer it was on my skin, the more I loved it. To me, the smell is vanilla, sweet spices, cookies and punch. It's a special and long-lasting smell - and either a love-it or hate-it smell (this is why I gave 3 points here). I love it! It moistures really good and has a thick and creamy consistency. To me it's a perfect moisturizer for winter time!

Lipstick -MAC - Satin Lipstick - Myth
dea2407 12/20/2010 6:02:00 AM
(0 - 5 points, 5 = excellent, 0 = very bad) pigmentation: 5 texture: 3 feeling: 4 colour-fast: 5 versatile?: 3 staying power: 4 TOTAL POINTS: 24 of 30 = good MYTH or CREME D'NUDE? That's always the question for the most used nude lipstick by MAC. Well, for me the winner is Creme d'Nude! I am pale, but Myth is so pigmented, that it would wash me out if I would apply a full layer. It looks very good on me if I apply a thin layer and nearly any shiny or glittery lipgloss over it - this is why I still like and use it. I also use it a a base colour for other lipsticks sometimes - it's quite nice to play with colours like that. So it's not a total fail for me, but I recommend not purchasing Myth without trying it before!

Highlighters -Eyeko - Eyeko's Cream
dea2407 12/20/2010 5:35:00 AM
This is not recommendable as a moisturizer or eye cream - as so many others wrote before! Still - I love it as a highlighter!!! I'm very pale skinned and the Eyeko cream gives me a subtile sheen of a very soft pink with silver undertones. I have two ways of using it: I apply a little on my cheeks (or wherever you want) with my fingers and blend it with a duo-fibre brush (or sometimes with my fingers too). Or I mix it with my foundation for a little glow. Then I apply a dot of foundation and the same amount of Eyeko cream and mix it together directly on my face, which works very well. I had no bad experience concerning breakouts. You get a large amount of product for a great price - I will always buy again!!!
