Lip Gloss -L'Oreal - Le Gloss - Peach Fuzz #158
rated 4 of 5

The Le Gloss line is my favorite from the drugstore. I'm not really a gloss person, but if I'm going to wear gloss, I'm wearing this. Peach Fuzz is a milky peach/orange shade. Ever since the MAC All About Orange collection came out, I've been looking for a creamy/milky orange gloss similar to Sushi Kiss and Sweet & Sour lipsticks. This one fits the bill perfectly. yes, the color is sheer, but if you layer it over ELF's mineral lipliner in Peach or add the ELF matte lip crayon in Coral over this gloss, the end result is sort of similar. This gloss lasts forever on my lips. Without eating/drinking I would estimate the wear time to be about 3-4 hours, which is amazing. It's very moisturizing too.

Eye Shadow -Bobbi Brown - Long Wear Cream Eye Shadow in Stone
rated 3 of 5
dddoxie 6/12/2013 12:24:00 PM

The formulation of BB's cream shadows are nice and longwearing, I just felt they were a bit sheer for my liking. The color stone is a warm, matte brown shade that can easily be worn on a daily basis, alone or under other powdered shadows. I hate the tiny glass jar this comes in. If you use your finger to apply cream e/s, it will barely fit (and I have tiny hands). You sort of have to rotate the jar around your finger for it to work. I ended up using a small brush instead because as soon as you start making a dent in this, it gets very awkward to use with your fingers. I would not repurchase this because although it was nice, it wasn't great. I adore Maybelline CTs 100x more than this shadow and feel the quality/formulation is same if not better.

Blush -Femme Couture - Mineral Effects Blush - Soft Spoken Pink
rated 5 of 5
dddoxie 6/12/2013 10:21:00 AM

If it wasn't for a rave review on YT, I would've never looked twice at this blush. The Femme Couture eye products were a miss for me in the past, but this was the first time trying their face products. If you removed this blush from the packaging, you'd think it was from the department store and cost 3-4 times what it does. The formula is so silky smooth and pigmented. HOLY MOLY is it pigmented! I assumed it was going to be sheer, hard as a rock and just bad, but no way. It has been the only blush I've reached for since I purchased it a few weeks ago. The color is a neutral light pink with a hint of corally goodness to it. It gives my NC40 skintone the perfect flush of color for everyday wear. And...the best part is that it lasts ALL. DAY. My face eats blush after 3 hours tops, but not this one. After 8-9 hours of wear, this stuff is still going strong. I apply it with a light hand on a stippling brush and i still have to blend it out afterwards..that's how pigmented this is! The packaging is very slim and sturdy for being a 'DS' brand. I couldn't ask for a better product. Will be checking out the other shades in the range soon.

Skincare - Face -Unlisted Brand - NOW Sweet 100% Pure Almond Oil
rated 5 of 5

This is the only moisturizer my DH can use on his dry, eczematic skin. It calms down the itchy, redness and provides instant relief. I use this in my homemade oil cleanser recipe: 1 part EVOO 2 parts castor oil 1/4 part jojoba oil 1/4 part almond oil

Styling Products -Bumble & Bumble - Surf Spray
rated 3 of 5
dddoxie 6/11/2013 10:12:00 AM

For the amount of money this stuff costs, I expected a heck-of-a-lot more. More product, more results...it's such an average surf spray. I have short to mid-length hair, normal, straight but can get it to hold a decent wave with a lot of work. I have to use so much of this product for it to make a difference in my hair. I've had this for 3 weeks or so and I feel like I only have about 1/4 of the bottle left and I do not use it everyday. It gives average hold/texture. I've honestly found better products at the DS for a fraction of the price. Once this is gone I'm going to make my own surf spray from a DIY recipe i found online.

Eye Shadow -E.L.F. - Mineral Eyeshadow in Bronze
rated 5 of 5
dddoxie 6/10/2013 10:34:00 AM

I consider this the quintessential bronze eyeshadow shade. I've had so many other shades labeled as 'bronze' and they end up being too brown, too gold, too orange, too green. Not this one. It really has an ideal balance of all those shades rolled into one. On my NC40 skintone this is a very natural looking color and could easily be worn alone for a simple eye. I wear all of my loose/mineral eyeshadows wet over a base and then pack on an additional layer of dry pigment for added oomph. Wear time is excellent, just like all my other ELF mineral shadows. This color is the last one I purchased (I think I own almost all of them now), but I'm not sure why I overlooked it for so long. it's really a great staple to add to your collection.

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - nicki minaj pink friday perfume
rated 5 of 5
dddoxie 6/10/2013 10:27:00 AM

I ran out and purchased this the first time I saw it one of those scented magazine inserts in September 2012. I thought the smell was very fresh and sweet without being annoying (something I can't say about the perfume's namesake). This is the perfume I reach for when I don't want to think about what to wear. It's perfect for both day and night and all year-round, but I wear it more in Spring/Summer than anything else. I hate, hate, hate the bottle. I'm not a NM fan by any means and the bottle is just creepy.

Pressed Powders -NARS - Light Reflecting Pressed Setting Powder
rated 4 of 5
dddoxie 6/10/2013 10:19:00 AM

I've waivered so many times over the past several weeks about whether I really enjoy this product or not. I've come to the conclusion that I do! I bought it during a period of time where my skintype was very dry and I needed as much hydration/luminosity as possible. it worked great as a setting powder for my HG cream foundation from The All Natural Face and did not look oily or cakey. As the weather got warmer and I switched from using a cream foundation to a powder, my skin got a little oilier and I found that this powder caked up a bit. It didn't really cause me to look oily but the cakiness is what bothered me most. I stuck it out and kept using, just with a very light hand and I've come to realize that this really is a great finishing powder. It gives a diffused, soft look to my skin. Also works great to set undereye concealer.

Eye Shadow -Inglot - Matte 390
rated 5 of 5
dddoxie 6/7/2013 3:15:00 PM

I use this shadow every.single.day. It is a perfect shade to blend out my crease and/or act as a base shadow color for the crease. It is so buttery smooth and pigmented. I am going to hit pan on this soon which is no easy task as this is quite a large shadow. I use this when I'm NC20 in the winter months and also when I'm NC40-ish in the summer. Extremely versitle shade.

Toners -Unlisted Brand - Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar
rated 5 of 5
dddoxie 6/5/2013 9:58:00 AM

I've purchased multiple bottles of this. I use it to cook with and more recently as a hair rinse and in a homemade toner. The toner I made was AMAZING. I've been battling with acne for what...19 years now? And I've tried just about every product that claims to have acne-fighting properties with very limited results, if any. But after only 2 weeks of using the ACV toner, I haven't had a zit in that entire timeframe. yes, a little blackhead pops up now and again, but i'm talking no major red, inflamed, grossness. The recipe I use is: 1 part ACV 2 parts water (I use rose water) 10 drops bergamot EO 5 drops grapefruit EO 5 drops roman chamomile EO The EOs used can easily be swapped out for others, these are just what I chose to try for this batch. It made about 1 cup worth of product which will last about 3 weeks (I use it 2x/daily). Granted, it still smells heavily of the vinegar, but I got used to it after a few days. My skin just looks amazing. I still have acne scars from previous breakouts, but I will continue to use this to see if it will help out with those and report back. I also use ACV for heartburn, GERD, A/R. A big swig of this stuff will calm down firey heartburn in a few minutes. It's truly a miracle product.

Moisturizers -E.L.F. - Daily Moisture Stick
rated 1 of 5
dddoxie 6/5/2013 9:46:00 AM

I hate this product. I keep seeing rave reviews and I'm honestly confused. I applied it on my dry, cracky winter hands and it did nothing. Tried to rub it into my cuticles and again, nothing. Tried to use it on my lips as a balm and BLEH - horrible taste and made my lips a crusty mess. It applies with a slightly wet feeling and then dries to nothing. Sorry guys...no bueno for me.

Eye Shadow -Clinique - Chubby Stick Shadow Tint for eyes
rated 5 of 5
dddoxie 6/3/2013 10:12:00 AM

I'll admit, I'm not usually a fan of Clinique anything, but these chubby shadow pencils intrigued me. I researched swatches online and all of them looked gorgeous. I ran out and bought Lots o'Latte at my Macy's counter and wore it religiously for a few days. I dare say this rivals my HG cream shadow/base, Maybelline CT in Bad to the Bronze. It wore extremely well throughout hot, humid weather. The color is more sheer than a CT and has less shimmer, but it's great as a base for any neutral shadow. I also ordered the Amber and Lavendar ones from Nordstrom and they are just as equally gorgeous. I don't like applying them directly from the pencil. I prefer to use a small, synthetic brush to get the product from the bullet to my lids. I also feel it blends out better and applies more pigment that way. I'm super impressed with these and will be looking into purchasing more colors.

Lipstick -FLOWER Beauty - Lip Service Lip Butter
rated 5 of 5
dddoxie 5/31/2013 2:44:00 PM

Compared to the other lip butters on the DS market today, this one takes the cake. I'm so impressed with the formula!! So far I only have Haute Honeysuckle, but I can say with confidence that this is total HG status for me. This is the most beautiful nude/pink/peach shade that works wonderfully with my NC40-ish skintone. It is such a sophisticated shade that makes me feel glamorous and not overly done-up. The formula is thicker than Maybelline Color Whispers and L'Oreal Caresse; however, it is not as thick and gloopy as a Revlon lip butter (which I hate). It is very pigmented and buildable, doesn't dry out my lips and lasts much longer than any of the aforementioned products. It just wears so well! My one and only gripe is the stupid packaging. While it looks pretty, that's about all it has going for it. It's bulky and fussy. The cap has to fit on just perfectly or it pops off like an un-corked champagne bottle! I will be going back to purchase many of the other shades from this range.

One of the few powders I've completely used up. Great for touch-ups throughout the day. Never made me look cakey or dull.

Eyeliner -E.L.F. - Mineral Eyeliner
rated 3 of 5
dddoxie 5/29/2013 10:01:00 AM

Admittedly, I didn't have high hopes for this. But I have been pleasantly surprised! Pigmentation is nice, but formulation is a little hard. Doesn't pull or tug, but I have to go over the same line a couple times to get the pigment I'm looking for. Doesn't irritate my very sensitive eyes at all. I have this in black and midnight and they really look like the same color to me. No smudging or fading on my lids.
