Took 5 coats to get it to even out, but it is well worth the time. Such a pretty and wearable white.

Shampoo -Dove - Damage Therapy Intensive Repair Shampoo
dbourque 3/6/2013 12:41:00 PM
This really does work. I have really bad split ends from years of dying my hair blonde and failing to take proper care of it (ie. using deep conditioning, treatments...). After going to a new hair stylist, I realized how dry and sad my hair really was. I bought this shampoo along with Tresemme Split Remedy Conditioner (?) and Sunsilk HydraTLC shampoo and some deep conditioning products. I mostly used the Sunsilk HyrdraTLC shampoo, and one day used this instead... my hair was so soft, shiny, not as frizzy and my split ends were less obvious! It really made a difference.

Polishes -OPI - Bubble Bath
dbourque 12/3/2012 11:05:00 PM
Not sure what took me so long to get my hands on this cult favourite. It is beautiful! It looks so clean and fresh on your nails! I agree with the post below - this is very bridal. Bubble Bath is a great neutral.

Polishes -OPI - Here Today ... Aragon Tomorrow

I greatly dislike OPI for discontinuing this polish as soon as I decide to purchase it. I have been using NYC Color Flat Iron Green forever now (which is a perfect dupe) and finally decided to purchase the better quality polish since I loved the colour so much. Can't get it now. So sad.

Polishes -Joe Fresh Style - Nail Polish - ALL COLOURS
dbourque 8/30/2012 11:50:00 PM
I absolutely love Joe Fresh polishes. They are high quality polishes at a fraction of the cost at simply $4 a bottle (or 3 for $10). They have a fantastic colour selection, and dupe many of the more popular or cult colours such as Jade for Jade is the New Black and Gun Metal for a duller but acceptable version of My Private Jet (version 2), to name a few. I love the brush and how quickly they dry. The polishes themselves last well too and don't get all goopy like most cheaper polishes. I highly recommend these to all nail snobs (those who purchase only OPI) and receive nothing but great feedback back. They even sell a matte top coat - what more can you ask! They are fantastic.

Polishes -China Glaze - Recycle

Got this at Christmas and put it on for the first time tonight. In the bottle it looks like the most basic, boring gray, but on the nail, it's the perfect gray jelly! So squishy looking! Love it.

Polishes -Sally Hansen - salon effects
dbourque 5/11/2011 11:30:00 PM
Tu Tu Much (a pretty pale pink) is so super sheer and not worth the money. A single coat of any baby pink out there would give you the same, and not to mention, a better effect. I was SO disappointed because the swatch on the display looks nothing like what the applique turned out to be - a sheer wash of pink. Deceiving and a waste of money. OTHER THAN THAT! I love that Salon Effects in patterns such as Miss Behaved and Kitty Kitty, etc. It's complicated nail art made easy.

Liquid -Rimmel - Lasting Finish 25 Hour Foundation
dbourque 2/16/2011 11:10:00 PM
My biggest foundation issue is its lasting time. It's hard to find a foundation that stays put all day. I first fell in love with Revlon's ColorStay, but when I ran out of my bottle, I was not in any way prepared to dish out the ~$15 to repurchase so after some mild research, I picked up Rimmel's Lasting Finish foundation and it has quickly become my favourite foundation ever. The price is great and the lasting power is amazing! I have darrrrrk circles and after hours on end spent at school, I still look alive! Excellent coverage, easy to blend, doesn't break me out. Definitely worth trying.

Polishes -Rimmel - Lasting Finish Pro - Steel Grey

Favourite colour in my collection (and believe me, there's plently of competition). Summer/Fall/Winter/Spring, it's got you covered. Love. It. It applies like a dream and it's my go-to when I'm not sure what colour to paint my nails. Do yourself the favour and just buy it. Great dupe for Particuliere.

Top/Base Coats -Essie - Good to Go! The Fastest Drying Top Coat
dbourque 2/16/2011 10:52:00 PM
I have tried many a TC including Seche Vite (don't), Barielle Manicure Extender (second fav), SH Insta-dry, and Revlon's top coat and Good to Go has quickly become my go-to top coat. It hardens (not just dries, *hardens*) very quickly and has excellent shine. My favourite things about this TC are that 1) It didn't cause unsightly shrinkage (unlike Seche) and 2) is 3-free. I would recommend this as a top coat despite the price (~ $10). I am very happy with it so far. Edit: I have bought 4 bottles so far and haven't looked back. Edit: I have been using this for weeks now and I still LOVE it. HG TC.

Top/Base Coats -Seche Vite - Dry Fast Top Coat
dbourque 12/10/2010 2:39:00 PM
Pros: It dries really fast, is super shiny, and lasts. Cons: If applied too soon after colour, it will cause the polish to chip and peel almost right away. It causes noticeable shrinkage on the tip of the nail (not cool Seche). It has toluene in it, which is recognized as an unsafe/toxic chemical, and if you're anything like me and occasionally nibble at your nails, toxic np is just no good. Lastly, the scent is very strong. I really liked this at first, but once I had learned of the effects of toluene and noticed the shrinkage, I was over the hype. I have tried many TCs and haven't found one I'm in love with yet. However, I do like Barielle's Ultra Speed Dry Manicure Extender and Essie's Good To Go and am looking to try Poshe next.

Concealers -Physicians Formula - Circle Rx
dbourque 12/1/2010 12:19:00 AM
I have horrible dark circles and found that this product works wonders for me. I tend to use it in the fashion of a colour corrector and apply foundation over it. That way, I find it hides my circles really well without being too obvious or yellow. I do find this product to be very drying which is why I stopped using it as a blemish concealer.
