Moisturizers -Clinique - Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion

I have used many samples of this product and though I don't like it enough to buy, I love to take my samples with me in my bag. This is a great, standard, moisturizer. I can't see myself purchasing it, because it doesn't have SPF. I want SPF in my daytime moisturizer.

I love this product and have repurchased several times. For the money, this is a steal. It does what it's supposed to do and the price makes it easy to stay stocked. Great day-to-day go to product!

Eye Makeup Remover -Lancome - Bi-Facil Double Action Eye Make-up Remover
rated 4 of 5
dawny0826 11/25/2012 1:08:00 PM

This is a staple for me and is my typical "go to" makeup remover. I've purchased it several times and I usually receive this as part of a gift offer from Lancome. It works amazingly. My only gripe with this product is price and if I'm not careful, it will dry out my under eye area. I have found that since I've been utilizing and under eye cream on a regular basis, this is less than a problem. Removes makeup effortlessly. I do wish it were less expensive. If it were, I'd be inclined to purchase it more often, but, I've well stocked on samples. :)

One of my absolute favorite fragrances. I wear it in the fall and winter as it's a very warm scent. I've bought three or four of these and consider this one a staple.

Lip Gloss -mark - Gloss gorgeous in Lolli
rated 3 of 5
dawny0826 11/25/2012 1:02:00 PM

I have all of the colors and I don't consider this a true lip stain. It doesn't have the consistency of a true lip stain. It's more of a gloss, in my opinion. The colors are very pretty. I don't find this to be an overdying product, as some lip "stains" are. But, this isn't anything amazing that hasn't been done before and there are very few color choices.

Shampoo -Organix - Coconut Milk Shampoo
rated 5 of 5

Love this stuff! I've repurchases everal times. I've used most of the Organix, Coconut Milk line. Love the way it smells and works for my hair. I do prefer my L'Oreal "ever" series products over this, but, these are "go to" products for me and I usually grab what's more afforable. I have naturally curly, thick, coarse and color treated hair.

Highlighters -mark - hook up get bright highlighter in light
rated 2 of 5

Not crazy about this. I use this product with my Mark concealer. I don't think that it really delivers on highlight. But, it's still a nice companion to my pencil concealer and is suitable for travel. I have had this product for a very long time and as such, I am amazed by its shelf life as it's of the same quality and consistency as when I first purchased. I do like the applicator and I like that I can see how much product is left in the package. Again, it's not the best performing product. It's good for very light touch up jobs and I view it as more of a "friend" to my concealer. Great for the purse and travel.

Eye Shadow -mark - I-Mark Custom Pick Eyeshadow- Biscotti
rated 5 of 5
dawny0826 11/25/2012 12:51:00 PM

I've had this eyeshadow for years, so I will first comment on its shelf life. Product looks, feels, smells and performs as it did when I first bought it. Biscotti is a beautiful highlight or base color. It's unfortunate, really, that I forget about my Mark pallettes, because they do offer some very bold and pigmented colors and then lighter colors, like Biscotti, that are very wearable for every day and can be used alone, with comparable shades or as a highlight. I've also always liked that you get a good amount of product for your money and I haven't checked to see if Mark still offers the same square pans that fit into the magnetic pallettes, but, I'm sure you can still fine these, if they aren't available on Mark. These pallettes were very innovative - before a lot of us were depotting and sticking our pans in magnetized pallettes - Mark was already doing this. I'm not a spokesperson for Mark by any means - I just think that this shadow is really good and I regret not using it as often. I won't buy again and that's not because the product isn't good. I won't buy again, because I've had my Mark shadows for so long and considering the amount of makeup I have, have no need for repurchase.

Concealers -mark - good riddance hook up concealer (all)
rated 4 of 5
dawny0826 11/25/2012 12:40:00 PM

For those who have commented that this product lasts a long time, I can attest to that. I've been using mine for two or more years now and it's had a fine shelf life and works. I don't love this concealer, as I perfer potted concealer products, but, this does the job for LIGHT concealing and touch up jobs. I admit that if I had more concealing to do - to cover blemishes and blotches, this product wouldn't be ideal, as it doesn't provdie heavy coverage and doesn't have the longevity that a heavier, cream based concealer, would. I wouldn't purchase this again, but, I'm still using it. It works for the light jobs and I think that this product, ideally, would work for those who only need a minimal coverage concealer.

Shampoo -L'Oreal - EverCreme Cleansing Conditioner
rated 4 of 5
dawny0826 11/25/2012 12:31:00 PM

This has become my favorite shampoo, but, I knew going into it that this is what my hair needed. I'm used to depositing conditioner and skipping washes as my hair is so dry, thick and curly. The concept of a conditioning cleanser clicked before I used the product. I can deposit a lot of conditioner without my hair looking greasy or weighed down. On that note, I can certainly understand how this product will not work for other people. I imagine that people with oily scalps, fine hair or very healthy hair with good moisture balance may have trouble with this product, as it's heavily conditioner based. I love the way it smells and think that it's reasonably priced. I use a variety of L'Oreal "Ever" products and they work very well for me. My hair is softner, more moisturized and overall more mangeable and healthy. As others have stated, I dislike having to pump out a lot of product for one washing.

Powder -Lancome - Ageless Minerale Skin-Transforming Mineral Powder Foundation SPF 21
rated 4 of 5
dawny0826 11/24/2012 4:45:00 PM

I purchased this as a set several years ago, which came with the mineral foundation, transluscent setting powder and bronzer. I'm not a fan of powder foundations at all, but, this set works for me. It also came with a cosmetic bag and brush and I don't use the brush, though there wasn't anything wrong with it. I think I gave it away. This works for my skin and skin tone. I use Natural Ivory. What I like about this product is that it's very buildable and you really do have a flawless finish when you're done, without it looking like you have caked powder on your face. It looks very natural and your skin feels smoothe. Another thing that I like about it, is that it doesn't move or transfer as much as much as other powders do. The bronzer is too dark for my skin, but, it works as a contouring powder. And the translucent powder is multi-purpose. I use it without the other products, over makeup to set a look. A little product goes a long way, so that justifed the cost - I think I paid around $60.00 for the set. The only thing that I would recommend is that those with fair skin test it first, if they can. Additionally, I do recommend a foundation primer under this. I've used this over moisturizer and I find that I do need to allow my moisturizer to set and then add a primer, for the best finish. I'd buy this product again, but only if I could purchase this in a set again. The packaging is okay...but, you do lose product every time you open the package, some product spills and that's another deterrant for me and is one reason why I don't often utilize mineral powders.

Sunscreen -Aveeno - Active Naturals Smart Essentials Daily Nourishing Moisturizer SPF 30
rated 5 of 5
dawny0826 11/24/2012 4:35:00 PM

I really like this moisturizer. I don't think there's a lot of bells and whistles with it. It simply does what it's supposed to do, without feeling overtly greasy (due to the SPF). It smells nice and the packaging is kind of pretty. As with a lot of moisturizers with SPF, I find that I have to use a foundation primer if I'm using a mineral foundation. Otherwise, I think this works great under tinted moisturizers and liquid foundations.

Blush -E.L.F. - Natural Radiance Blusher in Blushing
rated 5 of 5
dawny0826 11/24/2012 4:22:00 PM

LOVE E.L.F. blushes. I think I bought a bunch of these for $1.00 a piece and the colors are beautiful and the long lasting. Blushing is a beautiful, vibrant pink with gold sparkle. The sparkle isn't overpowering on the skin. When comparing these to my blushes by MAC, Smashbox and Benefit - I like these just as well and reach for them all of the time.

Blush -E.L.F. - Studio Blush Peachy Keen
rated 5 of 5
dawny0826 11/24/2012 4:19:00 PM

These blushes are great. I have several colors. Peachy Keen is a very light peach with some sheen. It has sparkle, but not heavy sparkle - it tends to look more like a sheen on your face. For the price, I think these blushes are of excellent quality. If you compare NARS blushes, you'll notice comparable colors, but these are so much less expensive. I would have definately have purchased these again and these are often my "go to" blushes.

Eye Primer -E.L.F. - Mineral Eyeshadow Primer
rated 3 of 5
dawny0826 11/24/2012 4:09:00 PM

I purchased this product during a sale on the E.L.F. website and I will comment that I think in terms of price - this is a very affordable product. I purchased it for less than $3.00. Packaging - I'm not a fan of primers that come with wands. The packaging is nude colored, so you can't tell how much product is left in the tube. Overall, I think you get a better value with primers that come in tubes or jars. I don't like the consistency of the primer, personally, but, shadows are longer lasting when I use this primer as opposed to wearing shadows without the primer. It works, I just don't find it comparable in quality to Urban Decay primer potion or Too Faced Shadow insurance. If one is looking for a less expensive primer, L'Oreal Shadow Insurance is a great one, although, that too comes with an applicator, but, you can see how my much product is left and I do find it of better quality, which, in my opinion, justifies the additional price. Hands down, i think that Urban Decay and Too Faced make better primer products and I'm inclined to pay more, as a little goes a long way and quality surpasses that of of some of the less expensive primers. This is just my opinion, of course. If you're looking for something affordable that works, without bells and whistles...this product may suffice.
