Moisturizers -L'Oreal - Pure Zone Skin Relief Oil-free Moisturizer
rated 1 of 5

I have oily/acne type skin and I'm not overly sensitive (though AHAs are not my friend.) I will never ever buy this again oh how I wish I had saved my money.
This not only broke me out ("pure zone" my butt) but it also formed a disgusting film on my face. At first I thought, "OoOo.. Maattttee! Sweet!" but about five minutes later, when my skins' little oil factory starting pumping away, the matte quickly turned into nasty filmy goo. It felt and looked nasty...
This is pure evil.. in a convenient little tube.

Tinted Moisturizer -Clearasil - Adult Care Tinted Cream

I would definetly buy this again if only I could FIND it! I have yet to see it again on store shelves, I think it may have been d/c. :( This is the ONLY tinted acne treatment that is a natural color for me. I accidently bought the tinted but found it matched my skin perfectly. I use it like a very very light cover instead of using concealer and it worked very well. I suffered no irritation whatsoever. It didn't really clear up my skin but it seemed to help a wee bit to keep it under control. Also it was nice and creamy... :) Only thing I didn't like (aside from the fact I can't seem to find anywhere) is that the tube was sooo small.. geezz.. Again I must confess I'm a cheapskate but still it would have been nice to have a little more product for the price THOUGH the price was nice too. :D

I'm more of a woodsy, earthen, spicy type girl but this perfume is nice. It smells.. like a Mom. :D

Moisturizers -Avon - Anew Advanced All-in-One Max Self-Adjusting Perfecting Lotion SPF 15

I took some bad advice and canceled my order for Biologie and got this instead... Damn.
This has AHAs and I really really wish it would say so on the label or in the ad. This 'tingled' in an unpleasent burning way and made me cry for about 2 hours or so, even after washing it off. This irritated my eyes so badly even though I was very careful NOT to apply this near my ear area. What the hell??
After deciding to give it a second try (I was clinging to dream, what can I say?) I wore it for only a short time before I felt a new evil bumply on my chin. Come to find out, after a close inspection in the mirror, this broke me out BIG TIME. (I broke out everywhere on my face than I had applied the lotion.) Nas-TY.
This stuff is evil and I shall avoid it like the plague. Thank God for Avon's bless-ed return policy. :D

Moisturizers -Avon - Skintrition face primer

I heard a nasty rumor from the other Rep.s that this is supposed to be discontinued? Noooo...
I really like this stuff and I was surprised to find that it didn't break me out. (I have acne prone skin and I swear everything breaks me out.) I use this mixed with my Cleary C and I love the results.
Oh and it has a really sweet orangy smell that I love. I have to use three or four squirts for my whole face, then again I have a humongous head. It's not the easiest to spread but it works well enough to make itself useful.. :D
Again I have to say.. I wish it were cheaper. (Some may notice a theme here... I'm a huge cheapskate.) ;)

Treatments -Avon - Anew Clearly C face serum

Sticky? Stinky? We must be using a different product! lol!
I don't know if Avon changed the formula or what but I really like the smell and haven't had any real problems with the consistency. It has a light perfume type smell with a hint of alchohol smell that fades quickly.
I mix this with some Skintrition (which has a yummy orangy type smell) and apply it every night before bed. Its only a tad sticky when I used quite a bit. I found even when I don't dilute it if I just use a little bit its not an issue at all.
The most imporant thing of all though.. the results..
My skin's texture has begun to improve and I swear to God its actually been helping to clear my acne. Also though I have very oily skin I have trouble with my skin not wanting to retain moisture (difficult to explain) but this has really helped.
Even my Mother-n-law, who makes no qualms about mentioning my dark under eye circles (pff), said my skin looked better! :D

ps. I got this in the Luminous Gift Set along with Luminosity Ultra so it was actually a decent deal. Though I did give it a '4' on price being its expensive for such a little bottle. Despite the price tag I'd fork up the money again.. it was worth it. :)

Cleansers -Avon - Pure O2 Daily Oxygen Facial Cleanser
rated 5 of 5
dawnsierra 4/21/2003 1:48:00 PM

I love this stuff!
Okay so maybe I'm biased because I sell Avon but still... I'll definently be using this from now on.
I have oily/acne-prone skin and I have to, have to, have a cleanser than cleans well without stripping my skin. Plus I'm nearing 30 so the "fine lines and wrinkles" thing is a teencie bit of a concern.
This is more costly than I'm used to but its a good size tube and I need very little. It's slightly foamy and cleans very well, leaving a cool breeze feeling on my face. Ahhhh...
I haven't been using this very long so I don't know for certain if its actually going to help reduce any fine lines but I'll update and let ya' know.
tip: Try bursting the little blue beads in your hands when you foam it up. Works for me.. :)

Powder -Avon - Clear Finish Great Conplexion Pressed Powder
rated 5 of 5
dawnsierra 4/21/2003 1:39:00 PM

Though I don't care for the Clear Finish foundation I really love the Clear Finish pressed powder. I got this in translucent ivory and I love it. It retails for $8 regular but Avon frequently has sales and besides.. I get my Avon Rep. discount.. yeeaahh! :)
I'm not a big pressed powder fan and would prefer this in loose but the color and coverage are really excellent. I got translucent ivory and I found it goes on well and helps keep the oilyness reasonably under control. It doesn't break me out and I can even wear it with no foundation when I just don't feel like bein' shiny.
The only thing I hate about this product is the stupid applicator. Such a great powder really deserves a halfway decent applicator! It's a stiff, porus, scratchy foam pad that I threw directly in the trash after trying it. I'd highly recommend just replacing the applicator with a new one or one from your last pressed powder compact. For the quality of the powder and price ... I think its worth it.

Foundations -Avon - Clear Finish Foundation
rated 1 of 5
dawnsierra 4/21/2003 12:14:00 PM

I am shocked...
I was going to get the Beyond Color Perfecting stuff but I went for the Clear Finish instead.. big mistake. I absolutely hate this stuff! (And after all the positive reviews too?!)
It has a thin watery consistency and won't apply. I usually smooth on foundation and then lightly pat with a clear foundation sponge but no matter how I tried to get this stuff on it just won't go. I get this splotchy mess no matter what I do. It didn't cover, it didn't want to apply and the only good thing I can say about it is it didn't seem to break me out. At least I can easily return it and get the Beyond Color instead but geezzz.. this stuff was just plain aweful.
Oh and I tried the Neutragena version of this (liquid) in the past and found, in comparison, it was slightly better in coverage and color, etc. but it broke me out. I guess it'll be some time before one these 'acne clearing' foundations does any good...

Moisturizers -Avon - Anew Ultimate
rated 2 of 5
dawnsierra 4/11/2003 5:26:00 PM

(Again I should note I also sell Avon but I'm always honest as to my own personal experience(s) with Avon products.)
I tried some samples I received when I signed up with Avon and found this wasn't the product for me. Still this would be an excellent product for someone else; I'd say people with older skin, dry to normal skin or anyone looking for a heavy duty moisterizer to wear under their foundation (just not someone with acne prone/oily skin like mine.)
Surprisingly this didn't begin breaking me out until the third day (normally I break out the very same day I try something.) It left me very shiny, due to my already oily skin but made applying my foundation much easier. It did make my cheeks slightly more toned looking and gave me an overall 'glow' which was nice but I just can't use it. Dang...

Treatments -Avon - Clearskin targeted blemish remover
rated 3 of 5
dawnsierra 4/5/2003 11:50:00 AM

I sell Avon but I won't lie.. this product isn't my fav. There are Avon product I LOVE but this ain't one of 'em..
If the tube was twice as big or half the price I would definently buy another but otherwise.. egh.
To get this to stay on overnight I spread a fairly thin layer in area about the size of a quarter or larger otherwise it peels off during the night. There is always some peeling though... I have noticed my skin is a little bit more cleared up but I'll end up running out before using it long enough to make any difference.
I WOULD buy this again if it were much much cheaper or they offered more product otherwise no. I think I might try the Clearskin Overnight Treatment instead though.. you get more product, same price and it doesn't peel. (Though the overnight has .5% less salicylic acid which is why I choose the target treatment in the first place.)
I'll post my results with the Clearskin Overnight Treatment after I have a chance to try and compare.

Primer/ Corrector -Avon - Pore-fection Mattifier
rated 4 of 5
dawnsierra 4/5/2003 12:59:00 AM

This is a toughy...
I hate this oily slick I get across my forehead and on my nose.. it feels aweful. This actually helped quite a bit. I wasn't matte looking and I wasn't overly oily.
This tends to be irrtating on broken out skin though so I'd recommend NOT using where your especially sensitive or breaking out. I wouldn't absolutely not use this after exfoliating.. bad idea. If you have sensitive skin this stuff is a big no-no. (Just a tiny tiny dab on your nose should be enough for most people.) A little goes a long long way so for $8 its worth it.
For me this works great, especially under makeup (cakey looking/oily makeup isn't a good look) and I use it now on a regular basis. It doesn't dry out my skin and does what it should. Also it works about 1000 times better than that Loreal mattifying "moisterizer" I tried. Which made my skin cakey feeling and nasty and "tingled" (sometimes it downright hurt) and didn't moisterize AT ALL.
I might, might, try the Clearskin anti-shine in the future but for now this is doin' the job for me. :)

Cleansers -Avon - Pore-Fection Cleanser [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
dawnsierra 4/2/2003 12:34:00 PM

I may be a little biased being I'm a (newly appointed) Avon rep but I love this stuff!
I have oily/acne-prone skin and asked a fellow rep if she had any clearskin stuff in stock. She didn't have much but she did have this porefection cleanser. I used it last night and even though I've been very broken out lately and was wearing gads of gunky makeup last night it got every bit of it off and felt great on my skin! Afterwards my skin much less oily and I woke up without a evil-pimply in sight. WhooHoo!
Now I'm torn... I love this stuff but should I still get the clearskin cleanser? Hmm...

ps. Oh and the price is really really excellent. I'd pay the same for most drugstore cleansers, if not more, but with as little as I have to use this'll last me at least twice as long. Good deal...

Eyes -Mary Kay - luxury liner brow pencil
rated 5 of 5
dawnsierra 2/17/2003 3:24:00 PM

I've only got 1 inch of my blonde brow pencil left. I swear I've been usin' this since Jesus was a baby!
I adore this brow pencil for its perfect shade alone and can't seem to find a replacement.
I do remember this being a tad on the expensive side (its just a pencil afterall and if it weren't for the fab color I could easily replace it with a $1 drugstore knock off.) Also everytime I've ever tried to get one single item from a Mary Kay rep I always get bugged and harassed and end up having all kinds of junk pushed on me. "You can't just buy one thing! You have to get the set!" Maybe its just me? (checks to see 'sucker' tattooed on forhead)
Overall I really do like it, though I wish it were more convenient to buy and maybe a tincie bit cheaper but haven't found another brow pencil that could top it. :)

Moisturizers -Vaseline - Petroleum Jelly
rated 5 of 5
dawnsierra 2/17/2003 2:35:00 PM

Nothing has have been cheaper, more effective or gentler for removing my eye makeup or stubborn lipsticks that don't like to come off. It also makes my eyelashes so soft.. :)
I've found it really useful for helping sooth my face after using some evil product that left my face with 'acid burn.'
I use this on my lips, eyes and face and will, most likely, still be using for years to come.
God bless good ol' Vaseline.. :D
