Lotions/ Creams -Unlisted Brand - EXTRA VIRGIN Coconut Oil (All brands)
rated 5 of 5

I bought the Nature's Way unrefined cold pressed extra virgin coconut oil. I had been getting the spectrum refined kind but that one wasnt as good, i never used it because it took longer to melt and when i rubbed it inbetween my hands little hard balls of unmelted coconut oil would remain which was super annoying, it also smelled/tasted bad. But this cold pressed kind is a DREAM! I simply need to close my hand and it melts, i dont even need to rub it inbetween both my hands. and NO HARD UNMELTED BALLS! I also like the packaging better because its not as tall, so it wont be a pain to get at the last bit. It smells/tastes way better also, like actual coconuts. I want to keep this jar more sanitary, so im getting everything out with a spoon. I saw someone had the idea of freezing pre-measured coconut oil to use on your skin, so I measured it out and put tablespoons of coconut oil into my mini muffin pan and froze it. Its ready pretty much almost instantly, so I pried them out with a knife, it was very easy, and they didnt break apart in the process. I put them into a sandwich bag and left them in the freezer and when I shower I just take one out with me and put it in a little bowl and bring it with me, i was concerned it might melt too early but when i was done showering it had not melted at all even with the humidity. I rubbed it all over and it worked just the way i wanted it to! It reminded me of the LUSH body bars, it makes my skin super soft and glowing. I also put it in my hair before every 3rd wash overnight and it leaves my hair super shiny and soft, without being greasy (after ive washed it of course) I also put a little bit of it in both my shampoo and conditioner which i like alot. It also makes a great personal lubricant. I also eat about a tablespoon a day because i heard it helps with metabolism. Basically coconut oil is awesome for just about everything

This is great for putting on right after brushing your teeth, since the scent is kind of like toothpaste, or gum.

I am a NW05 and I use this mixed into my moisturizer all over my face. It gives a nice pretty glow without being overly shimmery. I also dab a tiny bit onto my lips and its soo pretty! Definitely recommend

Hair Removal -Unlisted Brand - Shick - Quattro Disposable Razors for Women
rated 5 of 5

I love these razors, they shave close and they have tiny wires on the blades so its impossible to nick yourself (without really trying to) its the only razor I use for 'down there', you can literally hack away at hair without looking and you don't have to worry about cutting even your more sensitive areas! Lotions/ Creams -Lubriderm - Moisturizer with SPF 30
rated 3 of 5
dawnfire90 2/15/2012 6:44:00 PM

This is currently on clearance at all the stores I have seen it at, probably going to be repackaged due to the new FDA sunscreen regulations. I got it for $3.50 when it normally goes for $8. I looked up the ingredients and it has a couple of concerns for pore clogging ingredients, cetearyl alchohol + ceteareth-20 rates a 4 out of 5 for pore clogging and theres a couple others that rate a 2. Soo not gonna use on face even though I was hoping I could so 1 lippie off for that. Its very light and just feels like a regular moisturizer instead of a sunscreen and it doesn't have much of a scent. I wish it came in a smaller travel size for my purse, might have to buy a travel container and just transfer it. I also wish it was in a container with a pump like their spf 15 version, but I guess that takes care of not being able to get the last bit out. Update Unfortunately this is breaking out my neck and chest, darn! I can still use it on my arms though.

Eye Shadow -Lancome - Color Design - Style Section
rated 5 of 5
dawnfire90 2/15/2012 1:33:00 PM

This is the prettiest true silver ever. Its metallic and shiny and the perfect shade of silver. Most 'silvers' are actually just grey. Took awhile to find the perfect one, I swatched it at lancome and even went to sephora to try to find a cheaper dupe, sephoras engagement ring 01 came close but it was less pigmented and was more just glittery than metallic.

Nails -Unlisted Brand - Kiss - Active Oval full-cover nails
rated 4 of 5

These lasted about a week on my nails and like a month on my toes. Once I stopped wearing them and my nails grew out there was a dent in my nails at the end of where the fake nail was placed. They didnt damage my nails other than that but I dont want dented nails

Sunscreen -Neutrogena - Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock SPF 70
rated 2 of 5
dawnfire90 2/11/2012 2:11:00 PM

I put the ingredients in my sunscreen simulator and unfortunately this only has an spf of 24 with a ppd of 9.1, the ppd is less than the lubriderm spf 30 moisturizer. I put it on my face everyday for 3 months and it didn't break me out, I didn't burn, but I hate it when sunscreens lie about their SPF value. And its not enough PPD for a sunscreen.

Pressed Powders -Hard Candy - Welcome Matte Mattifying Powder
rated 5 of 5
dawnfire90 2/9/2012 3:48:00 PM

I'm an NW05 and this is light enough for me. It makes my shiny sunscreened skin matte with just a little bit of product. I find that it applies the best and most natural with my E.L.F Studio Powder Brush in a stippling motion without tapping off the extra powder. The sponge it comes with sucks, I tried using a round sponge and sweeping it on but it looked terrible, so definitely apply with a brush. It hasn't made me break out which is awesome, and it lasts on the face a long time as well. Definitely recommend

Sunscreen -Coppertone - Coppertone Water Babies SunScreen Lotion SPF 50
rated 5 of 5
dawnfire90 2/9/2012 12:42:00 AM

I bought this at Walgreens in a travel size 1oz tube to keep in my purse to put on my hands whenever I go outside. The ingredients listed here were wrong, they were the same as the pure and simple version so I corrected them straight from the bottle's ingredients. This has a PPD of 10.7 which is the highest out of over 10 US sunscreens I have checked so far. I love the smell, it smells like sunscreen but sweeter and yummier. The only thing I don't like is the screw off cap, it should be a flip top, I guess the full size does have a flip top cap though. The highest rating for pore clogging ingredients is a 2, which is the same as jojoba oil so I wouldn't consider it comedogenic. When I apply it all over my face it doesn't burn my skin like olay complete spf 15 does, I put it around my eyes (I wasn't careful about it) and it doesn't sting my eyes either. I used a tinted moisturizer and a pressed powder on top and it applies well under makeup and doesn't ball up and it absorbs well. No break outs so far

Sunscreen -Neutrogena - Healthy Defense daily moisturizer SPF 50 Sensitive Skin
rated 1 of 5
dawnfire90 2/9/2012 12:14:00 AM

Would I buy this again? Not only no, but HECK NO! I got this for protection from skin aging UVA rays and because its a physical sunscreen, I found out about PPD ratings and started to get suspicious of this sunscreen when I found out that Shiseido which has 16% concentration of zinc oxide only had a PPD rating of 10 while this only has 3%. After a few hours of research I finally found the means to calculate sunscreen PPD myself and found out that this only has a PPD of 4.9, and the kicker is...the spf is 11!!! Thats right, neutrogena blatantly lies about this being spf 50. This also breaks me out, if I could give this product a 0 I would. I wouldn't be surprised if you only put this on and went out in the sun all day and got extremely sunburnt. spf 50 my butt!

Treatments (Eye) -Clarins - Sun Wrinkle Control Eye Contour Care SPF 30
rated 2 of 5
dawnfire90 2/8/2012 11:30:00 PM

I bought this before I found out about sunscreens and UVA rays and which ingredients block what. Unfortunately the only sunscreen this contains is Titanium Dioxide, which only protects against UVB and UVA2 rays and doesn't protect against UVA1 rays also. This has an SPF of 15 and a PPD rating of 4.4-4.9 depending if the titanium dioxide is water or oil phase. I bought it for protection from the aging effects of UVA rays which this clearly does not provide.

Gels/Soaps -Dove - winter care-limited edition
rated 3 of 5
dawnfire90 2/3/2012 3:11:00 AM

I am reviewing the body wash, it makes my skin really soft without a residue like 'already lotioned' feel. Unfortunately it also broke out my back, so ill have to use a separate body wash for my back :( I just looked up the ingredients on the comedogenicity list, it could be the soybean oil which rates a 3 on the comedogenic scale, or the sodium laureth sulfate which rates a 3 out of 5 for comedogenic and 2 as an irritant, or the lauric acid which rates a 4 for comedogenic and 1 for an irritant, or the stearic acid which is a 2, or the sodium chloride which is a FIVE out of 5 for comedogenic?! and a 3 as an irritant, or the palmitic acid which is a 2, wow this is HIGHLY comedogenic, it has at least 4 ingredients that are above a 3, dont put this anywhere near your face/back/chest if you are prone to breakouts!
