Eyeliner -Revlon - REVLON COLORSTAY CRÈME GEL EYE LINER (all colors)

It looks like I'm in the minority as one who really likes this product. For one thing, it comes in a nice range of colors, including my favorite charcoal that I like to use to subtly enhance my blue eyes. For some reason, it's difficult to find good grey and charcoal liners at the drugstore, and I've tried most of them. This one is a pretty, matte blue-based charcoal, and nicely pigmented. I normally prefer liquid liners to cream ones, but this liner's creamier consistency is a nice compromise. As a practiced liquid liner user, I find that the product applies quite well for me, sort of like a cross between a liquid and gel liner. I don't have any problems creating a thin or thick line, or a winged look if I like. Perhaps the more liquid texture is the reason people are having application issues? Just a guess. I do like the packaging, but find I need to clean the brush regularly with makeup wipes to keep the product from building up. Overall, this is a nice option for me, and I probably will keep using it until I find something in the same price range I like better.
Foundations -New York Color - Smooth Skin Liquid Makeup

Nice foundation. I've repurchased this quite a few times. I keep coming back to it because the Ivory shade is a perfect match for my winter NW15/NW20 skin, it's so wallet-friendly, and the texture and coverage are so lovely. The medium coverage is perfect for me, buildable in my reddish areas that need a little more help, and more sheer in the areas that don't. It has a slightly luminous and very natural looking finish on me, and it's easy to blend out. As most of the other reviews mention, it's definitely difficult to get out of the glass bottle. I've discovered the perfect trick for me. I store it UPSIDE DOWN in my bathroom cabinet or makeup tray, at a slight angle in a corner. It then requires only a couple of taps to get a bit onto my hand. A q-tip also works if it's being stubborn. Definitely worth a look for an nice inexpensive option!
Eye Shadow -Maybelline - COLOR TATTOO barely beige

This is a product that I need to share the love on! I've been looking for it for awhile after reading the positive reviews on it. I finally located it after searching many local drugstores and gave it a try today. I used by applying the Barely Beige Color Tattoo all over my lid with my index finger and blending it out with my ring finger (my preferred method for applying the Color Tattoos). I then added a bit of Bad to the Bronze Color Tattoo to my crease and outer v and blended that in with the Barely Beige. This gave me a beautiful, slightly shimmery, subtle, classic eye that worked perfectly with a red lipstick. It lasted for hours even without primer, it took minutes to apply and blend, and looks so pretty that I'm hoping I can find a backup soon. Looking forward to enjoying wearing these this holiday season with my red lipsticks!
Fragrances -Lolita Lempicka - L de Lolita Lempicka

This fragrance has turned into one of my most loved and worn scents. The admittedly sweet vanilla base is smooth, warm, and wearable. I also smell the cinnamon, citrus, and some incense on me which give it a sexy and sophisticated edge. It is alluring, comforting, and rather addicting at the same time. I will repurchase when my bottle runs out.
This is a good product, and I have been using it when I don't feel like spending the money for a higher end pressed powder. I feel that it performs almost as well as my usual Clinique powder. Tip: If you feel that your powder is breaking you out, it is quite possibly your puff or sponge, which can harbor bacteria VERY easily. Wash or replace your puff often. I use my facial cleanser to wash my brushes and sponges every few days and let dry overnight. You can also buy large packs of disposable sponges if this is too bothersome for you.
After reading some of these wonderful reviews, I purchased a giftset of this fragrance on sale for $9. I tried it on, and was amazed at how modern, yet glamorously vintage and old-fashioned the scent was at the same time. I can smell spices, patchouli, incense, musk, and amber. This reminds me of old ladies, indeed, but of old ladies such as my beautiful mother and aunts as they were in black and white photographs taken in their more reckless and wild youth in the 40's and 50's. I am so inspired to visit our local vintage store and find a gorgeous dress and some red nail polish to match...
Gels/Soaps -Bath and Body Works - Aromatherapy Jasmine Vanilla hand soap
daphne_76 12/9/2007 3:09:00 AM
This is a rather strongly scented hand soap that I quite like. It is more of a musky floral scent, with hints of patchouli and vanilla. However, I am reviewing this product because without fail, any man who uses this hand soap at my house comments on how great he thinks it smells. I have had at least three male friends who would rarely venture into Bath and Body Works buy this hand soap after using it at my house. Weird.
This does smell great, however, I get more vanilla than musk from this oil. I like to layer this with white musk fragrances to bring out the musk a little more and add a little more creaminess to the musks.
Lotions/ Creams -Bodycology - Vanilla Buttercream Lotion
daphne_76 7/30/2007 1:59:00 AM
This product is very quickly becoming a HG product for me. I like it in both the body cream and the lotion, the lotion being obviously thinner and less rich than the cream. I plan to use the lotion more often in the summer and the cream more often in the winter. The scent is absolutely delicious creamy vanilla frosting, and smells similar to but IMO better than Jaqua buttercream, which turns kind of plastic on me. This bodycology version works much better for me, and is much cheaper. I am about to repurchase this in the cream and bodywash.
Moisturizers -Clinique - Moisture On Call - Moisture Cream [DISCONTINUED]

This product was emollient and seemed to do a good job of moisturizing the dry areas on my face, but it irritated my eyes badly. Will not repurchase.
Pressed Powders -Clinique - Stay-Matte Sheer Pressed Powder
daphne_76 3/30/2007 2:30:00 AM
I have worn this product in Stay Buff for ten years, and it is my HG powder. It is a bit expensive for my preference, but I have not been able to find a drugstore product to compare with this one. I usually wait until GWP time to buy a replacement. The color perfectly matches my skin, and it works well to set concealer and tone down any oiliness. For reference, I have pale cool-toned combination skin.

I was recently on vacation in Vegas and a horrible blemish popped up while we were wandering the strip. Not having concealer with me, I ducked into Sephora and bought this product on a whim, since I did not already have a medicated concealer combo. This little pencil blended easily and the color (01 - light) matched my skin perfectly. Best of all, the blemish was gone before the end of our vacation two days later! This concealer is definitely quite expensive, and I'm normally a cheapskate when it comes to beauty products, but this works so well for me that I will probably repurchase when I run out.
This is creamy and lathers luxuriously, with a rich, creamy vanilla scent. A very nice product for a bargain price.
Blush -Milani - Powder Blush - Pink Craze [DISCONTINUED]

This color works very well with my pale cool-toned skin. I use it for a "barely there" makeup look. Shows up a very natural flushed pink color. Will definitely buy again when it runs out. Plus, the price is perfect for a cheapskate like me! :-)
